Accessibility
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA.
Features
- Adjustable Arabic and translation font sizes, plus light, sepia and dark themes with accessible contrast.
- Arabic and Urdu are marked with the correct language and right-to-left direction, so screen readers pronounce them correctly. Each layer is isolated so mixed-direction text cannot scramble.
- Full keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators and a “skip to content” link.
- The audio player has labelled controls and announces the playing verse to assistive technology.
- Animations respect the “reduce motion” system setting.
- Pages print cleanly, without navigation or controls.
Known limitations
- Screen-reader pronunciation of Uthmani-script Arabic varies by voice engine.
- Recitation audio has no captions beyond the on-screen verse text that is highlighted during playback.
Please tell us about any barrier you encounter.
