Reading without an account

Reading, listening to and searching the Quran never needs an account. Without an account, your settings, bookmarks, notes, reading history and goals are stored only in your browser on your device and are not sent to us.

Your account

An account is needed for the learning features (teachers, lessons, hifz, revision and the kids dashboard). When you sign up we store your name, email address and a securely hashed password. While you are signed in, we store in our database: your plan, your library (bookmarks, collections, notes, last-read position, reading history, daily goal), your children’s nickname-only profiles and their learning progress (stars, practice time, hifz and revision), and your reader settings, so they follow you to any device.

Our database is provided by Supabase (servers in Mumbai, India). Every record is protected by row-level security so only you can read or change your own data; site administrators can see account emails and payment records only to confirm payments. When you sign out, your personal learning data is removed from that browser. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the Account page.

Audio streaming

Recitation audio is streamed from EveryAyah.com. When you press play, your browser requests audio from that service, which receives your IP address as with any web request.

Analytics

No analytics or advertising trackers are enabled by default. If privacy-respecting analytics are enabled, they will be cookieless and aggregated, and this page will be updated first.

Offline storage

If you choose “Save Quran for offline”, the text is stored in your browser’s cache. You can remove it from Settings.

Children's learning profiles

A parent account can add child profiles identified only by a nickname, with an optional age band and learning level. We never collect a child's full name, date of birth, photo, school or contact details. Progress is visible only to the parent account.

Voice practice is off by default and can be switched on per child by the parent. Recordings are stored privately and are deleted automatically after 30 days, or earlier on request. Children are never asked for personal information by the app or the AI teacher.

Payments

Plans are paid by bank transfer to our bank account. To match your transfer we store the plan and period you chose, the amount, the name on the sending account and the transaction reference you enter, together with your account email; the site owner receives an email with these details so the payment can be confirmed. We never ask for or store card numbers, bank passwords, PINs or one-time codes. Payment records are kept as long as needed for accounting and to resolve disputes.

Your rights

You can export your local library from Settings, and delete synced data by deleting your account. For other requests, see the contact page.
