Juz 13

وَمَآ أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِىٓ إِنَّ ٱلنَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌۢ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّ رَبِّى غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٥٣﴾

Wama obarrio nafsee inna alnnafsa laammaratun bialssooi illa ma rahima rabbee inna rabbee ghafoorun raheemun

اور میں اپنے تئیں پاک صاف نہیں کہتا کیونکہ نفس امارہ (انسان کو) برائی سکھاتا رہتا ہے۔ مگر یہ کہ میرا پروردگار رحم کرے گا۔ بےشک میرا پروردگار بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

And I do not acquit myself. Indeed, the soul is a persistent enjoiner of evil, except those upon which my Lord has mercy. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱئْتُونِى بِهِۦٓ أَسْتَخْلِصْهُ لِنَفْسِى فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَهُۥ قَالَ إِنَّكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ لَدَيْنَا مَكِينٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿٥٤﴾

Waqala almaliku itoonee bihi astakhlishu linafsee falamma kallamahu qala innaka alyawma ladayna makeenun ameenun

بادشاہ نے حکم دیا کہ اسے میرے پاس لاؤ میں اسے اپنا مصاحب خاص بناؤں گا۔ پھر جب ان سے گفتگو کی تو کہا کہ آج سے تم ہمارے ہاں صاحب منزلت اور صاحبِ اعتبار ہو

And the king said, "Bring him to me; I will appoint him exclusively for myself." And when he spoke to him, he said, "Indeed, you are today established [in position] and trusted."

قَالَ ٱجْعَلْنِى عَلَىٰ خَزَآئِنِ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِنِّى حَفِيظٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٥٥﴾

Qala ijAAalnee AAala khazaini alardi innee hafee<i>th</i>un AAaleemun

(یوسف نے) کہا مجھے اس ملک کے خزانوں پر مقرر کر دیجیئے کیونکہ میں حفاظت بھی کرسکتا ہوں اور اس کام سے واقف ہوں

[Joseph] said, "Appoint me over the storehouses of the land. Indeed, I will be a knowing guardian."

وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَتَبَوَّأُ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ يَشَآءُ نُصِيبُ بِرَحْمَتِنَا مَن نَّشَآءُ وَلَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿٥٦﴾

Wakathalika makanna liyoosufa fee alardi yatabawwao minha haythu yashao nuseebu birahmatina man nashao wala nudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena

اس طرح ہم نے یوسف کو ملک (مصر) میں جگہ دی اور وہ اس ملک میں جہاں چاہتے تھے رہتے تھے۔ ہم اپنی رحمت جس پر چاہتے ہیں کرتے ہیں اور نیکوکاروں کے اجر کو ضائع نہیں کرتے

And thus We established Joseph in the land to settle therein wherever he willed. We touch with Our mercy whom We will, and We do not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good.

وَلَأَجْرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ يَتَّقُونَ ﴿٥٧﴾

Walaajru alakhirati khayrun lillatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور ڈرتے رہے ان کے لیے آخرت کا اجر بہت بہتر ہے

And the reward of the Hereafter is better for those who believed and were fearing Allah.

وَجَآءَ إِخْوَةُ يُوسُفَ فَدَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَعَرَفَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ﴿٥٨﴾

Wajaa ikhwatu yoosufa fadakhaloo AAalayhi faAAarafahum wahum lahu munkiroona

اور یوسف کے بھائی (کنعان سے مصر میں غلّہ خریدنے کے لیے) آئے تو یوسف کے پاس گئے تو یوسف نے ان کو پہچان لیا اور وہ ان کو نہ پہچان سکے

And the brothers of Joseph came [seeking food], and they entered upon him; and he recognized them, but he was to them unknown.

وَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ قَالَ ٱئْتُونِى بِأَخٍ لَّكُم مِّنْ أَبِيكُمْ أَلَا تَرَوْنَ أَنِّىٓ أُوفِى ٱلْكَيْلَ وَأَنَا۠ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ ﴿٥٩﴾

Walamma jahhazahum bijahazihim qala itoonee biakhin lakum min abeekum ala tarawna annee oofee alkayla waana khayru almunzileena

جب یوسف نے ان کے لیے ان کا سامان تیار کر دیا تو کہا کہ (پھر آنا تو) جو باپ کی طرف سے تمہارا ایک اور بھائی ہے اسے بھی میرے پاس لیتے آنا۔ کیا تم نہیں دیکھتے کہ میں ناپ بھی پوری پوری دیتا ہوں اور مہمانداری بھی خوب کرتا ہوں

And when he had furnished them with their supplies, he said, "Bring me a brother of yours from your father. Do not you see that I give full measure and that I am the best of accommodators?

فَإِن لَّمْ تَأْتُونِى بِهِۦ فَلَا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِندِى وَلَا تَقْرَبُونِ ﴿٦٠﴾

Fain lam tatoonee bihi fala kayla lakum AAindee wala taqrabooni

اور اگر تم اسے میرے پاس نہ لاؤ گے تو نہ تمہیں میرے ہاں سے غلّہ ملے گا اور نہ تم میرے پاس ہی آسکو گے

But if you do not bring him to me, no measure will there be [hereafter] for you from me, nor will you approach me."

قَالُوا۟ سَنُرَٰوِدُ عَنْهُ أَبَاهُ وَإِنَّا لَفَٰعِلُونَ ﴿٦١﴾

Qaloo sanurawidu AAanhu abahu wainna lafaAAiloona

انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم اس کے بارے میں اس کے والد سے تذکرہ کریں گے اور ہم (یہ کام) کرکے رہیں گے

They said, "We will attempt to dissuade his father from [keeping] him, and indeed, we will do [it]."

وَقَالَ لِفِتْيَٰنِهِ ٱجْعَلُوا۟ بِضَٰعَتَهُمْ فِى رِحَالِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْرِفُونَهَآ إِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿٦٢﴾

Waqala lifityanihi ijAAaloo bidaAAatahum fee rihalihim laAAallahum yaAArifoonaha itha inqalaboo ila ahlihim laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

(اور یوسف نے) اپنے خدام سے کہا کہ ان کا سرمایہ (یعنی غلّے کی قیمت) ان کے شلیتوں میں رکھ دو عجب نہیں کہ جب یہ اپنے اہل وعیال میں جائیں تو اسے پہچان لیں (اور) عجب نہیں کہ پھر یہاں آئیں

And [Joseph] said to his servants, "Put their merchandise into their saddlebags so they might recognize it when they have gone back to their people that perhaps they will [again] return."

فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِيهِمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مُنِعَ مِنَّا ٱلْكَيْلُ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَآ أَخَانَا نَكْتَلْ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ ﴿٦٣﴾

Falamma rajaAAoo ila abeehim qaloo ya abana muniAAa minna alkaylu faarsil maAAana akhana naktal wainna lahu lahafi<i>th</i>oona

جب وہ اپنے باپ کے پاس واپس گئے تو کہنے لگے کہ ابّا (جب تک ہم بنیامین کو ساتھ نہ لے جائیں) ہمارے لیے غلّے کی بندش کر دی گئی ہے تو ہمارے ساتھ ہمارے بھائی کو بھیج دے تاکہ ہم پھر غلّہ لائیں اور ہم اس کے نگہبان ہیں

So when they returned to their father, they said, "O our father, [further] measure has been denied to us, so send with us our brother [that] we will be given measure. And indeed, we will be his guardians."

قَالَ هَلْ ءَامَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا كَمَآ أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌ حَٰفِظًا وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ﴿٦٤﴾

Qala hal amanukum AAalayhi illa kama amintukum AAala akheehi min qablu faAllahu khayrun hafi<i>th</i>an wahuwa arhamu alrrahimeena

(یعقوب نے) کہا کہ میں اس کے بارے میں تمہارا اعتبار نہیں کرتا مگر ویسا ہی جیسا اس کے بھائی کے بارے میں کیا تھا۔ سو خدا ہی بہتر نگہبان ہے۔ اور وہ سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والا ہے

He said, "Should I entrust you with him except [under coercion] as I entrusted you with his brother before? But Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful."

وَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا۟ مَتَٰعَهُمْ وَجَدُوا۟ بِضَٰعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِى هَٰذِهِۦ بِضَٰعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَا وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ ﴿٦٥﴾

Walamma fatahoo mataAAahum wajadoo bidaAAatahum ruddat ilayhim qaloo ya abana ma nabghee hathihi bidaAAatuna ruddat ilayna wanameeru ahlana wanahfa<i>th</i>u akhana wanazdadu kayla baAAeerin thalika kaylun yaseerun

اور جب انہوں نے اپنا اسباب کھولا تو دیکھا کہ ان کا سرمایہ واپس کر دیا گیا ہے۔ کہنے لگے ابّا ہمیں (اور) کیا چاہیئے (دیکھیے) یہ ہماری پونجی بھی ہمیں واپس کر دی گئی ہے۔ اب ہم اپنے اہل وعیال کے لیے پھر غلّہ لائیں گے اور اپنے بھائی کی نگہبانی کریں گے اور ایک بار شتر زیادہ لائیں گے (کہ) یہ غلّہ جو ہم لائے ہیں تھوڑا ہے

And when they opened their baggage, they found their merchandise returned to them. They said, "O our father, what [more] could we desire? This is our merchandise returned to us. And we will obtain supplies for our family and protect our brother and obtain an increase of a camel's load; that is an easy measurement."

قَالَ لَنْ أُرْسِلَهُۥ مَعَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ تُؤْتُونِ مَوْثِقًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لَتَأْتُنَّنِى بِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يُحَاطَ بِكُمْ فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَوْهُ مَوْثِقَهُمْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ ﴿٦٦﴾

Qala lan orsilahu maAAakum hatta tutooni mawthiqan mina Allahi latatunnanee bihi illa an yuhata bikum falamma atawhu mawthiqahum qala Allahu AAala ma naqoolu wakeelun

(یعقوب نے) کہا جب تک تم خدا کا عہد نہ دو کہ اس کو میرے پاس (صحیح سالم) لے آؤ گے میں اسے ہرگز تمہارے ساتھ نہیں بھیجنے کا۔ مگر یہ کہ تم گھیر لیے جاؤ (یعنی بےبس ہوجاؤ تو مجبوری ہے) جب انہوں نے ان سے عہد کرلیا تو (یعقوب نے) کہا کہ جو قول وقرار ہم کر رہے ہیں اس کا خدا ضامن ہے

[Jacob] said, "Never will I send him with you until you give me a promise by Allah that you will bring him [back] to me, unless you should be surrounded by enemies." And when they had given their promise, he said, "Allah, over what we say, is Witness."

وَقَالَ يَٰبَنِىَّ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ مِنۢ بَابٍ وَٰحِدٍ وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ مِنْ أَبْوَٰبٍ مُّتَفَرِّقَةٍ وَمَآ أُغْنِى عَنكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ﴿٦٧﴾

Waqala ya baniyya la tadkhuloo min babin wahidin waodkhuloo min abwabin mutafarriqatin wama oghnee AAankum mina Allahi min shayin ini alhukmu illa lillahi AAalayhi tawakkaltu waAAalayhi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona

اور ہدایت کی کہ بیٹا ایک ہی دروازے سے داخل نہ ہونا بلکہ جدا جدا دروازوں سے داخل ہونا۔ اور میں خدا کی تقدیر کو تم سے نہیں روک سکتا۔ بےشک حکم اسی کا ہے میں اسی پر بھروسہ رکھتا ہوں۔ اور اہلِ توکل کو اسی پر بھروسہ رکھنا چاہیئے

And he said, "O my sons, do not enter from one gate but enter from different gates; and I cannot avail you against [the decree of] Allah at all. The decision is only for Allah; upon Him I have relied, and upon Him let those who would rely [indeed] rely."

وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا۟ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا حَاجَةً فِى نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ قَضَىٰهَا وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِّمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٦٨﴾

Walamma dakhaloo min haythu amarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahi min shayin illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadaha wainnahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

اور جب وہ ان ان مقامات سے داخل ہوئے جہاں جہاں سے (داخل ہونے کے لیے) باپ نے ان سے کہا تھا تو وہ تدبیر خدا کے حکم کو ذرا بھی نہیں ٹال سکتی تھی ہاں وہ یعقوب کے دل کی خواہش تھی جو انہوں نے پوری کی تھی۔ اور بےشک وہ صاحبِ علم تھے کیونکہ ہم نے ان کو علم سکھایا تھا لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

And when they entered from where their father had ordered them, it did not avail them against Allah at all except [it was] a need within the soul of Jacob, which he satisfied. And indeed, he was a possessor of knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most of the people do not know.

وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ ءَاوَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا۠ أَخُوكَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٦٩﴾

Walamma dakhaloo AAala yoosufa awa ilayhi akhahu qala innee ana akhooka fala tabtais bima kanoo yaAAmaloona

اور جب وہ لوگ یوسف کے پاس پہنچے تو یوسف نے اپنے حقیقی بھائی کو اپنے پاس جگہ دی اور کہا کہ میں تمہارا بھائی ہوں تو جو سلوک یہ (ہمارے ساتھ) کرتے رہے ہیں اس پر افسوس نہ کرنا

And when they entered upon Joseph, he took his brother to himself; he said, "Indeed, I am your brother, so do not despair over what they used to do [to me]."

فَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ جَعَلَ ٱلسِّقَايَةَ فِى رَحْلِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ أَيَّتُهَا ٱلْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسَٰرِقُونَ ﴿٧٠﴾

Falamma jahhazahum bijahazihim jaAAala alssiqayata fee rahli akheehi thumma aththana muaththinun ayyatuha alAAeeru innakum lasariqoona

جب ان کا اسباب تیار کر دیا تو اپنے بھائی کے شلیتے میں گلاس رکھ دیا اور پھر (جب وہ آبادی سے باہر نکل گئے تو) ایک پکارنے والے نے آواز دی کہ قافلے والو تم تو چور ہو

So when he had furnished them with their supplies, he put the [gold measuring] bowl into the bag of his brother. Then an announcer called out, "O caravan, indeed you are thieves."

قَالُوا۟ وَأَقْبَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِم مَّاذَا تَفْقِدُونَ ﴿٧١﴾

Qaloo waaqbaloo AAalayhim matha tafqidoona

وہ ان کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر کہنے لگے تمہاری کیا چیز کھوئی گئی ہے

They said while approaching them, "What is it you are missing?"

قَالُوا۟ نَفْقِدُ صُوَاعَ ٱلْمَلِكِ وَلِمَن جَآءَ بِهِۦ حِمْلُ بَعِيرٍ وَأَنَا۠ بِهِۦ زَعِيمٌ ﴿٧٢﴾

Qaloo nafqidu suwaAAa almaliki waliman jaa bihi himlu baAAeerin waana bihi zaAAeemun

وہ بولے کہ بادشاہ (کے پانی پینے) کا گلاس کھویا گیا ہے اور جو شخص اس کو لے آئے اس کے لیے ایک بار شتر (انعام) اور میں اس کا ضامن ہوں

They said, "We are missing the measure of the king. And for he who produces it is [the reward of] a camel's load, and I am responsible for it."

قَالُوا۟ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا جِئْنَا لِنُفْسِدَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَٰرِقِينَ ﴿٧٣﴾

Qaloo taAllahi laqad AAalimtum ma jina linufsida fee alardi wama kunna sariqeena

وہ کہنے لگے کہ خدا کی قسم تم کو معلوم ہے کہ ہم (اس) ملک میں اس لیے نہیں آئے کہ خرابی کریں اور نہ ہم چوری کیا کرتے ہیں

They said, "By Allah, you have certainly known that we did not come to cause corruption in the land, and we have not been thieves."

قَالُوا۟ فَمَا جَزَٰٓؤُهُۥٓ إِن كُنتُمْ كَٰذِبِينَ ﴿٧٤﴾

Qaloo fama jazaohu in kuntum kathibeena

بولے کہ اگر تم جھوٹے نکلے (یعنی چوری ثابت ہوئی) تو اس کی سزا کیا

The accusers said, "Then what would be its recompense if you should be liars?"

قَالُوا۟ جَزَٰٓؤُهُۥ مَن وُجِدَ فِى رَحْلِهِۦ فَهُوَ جَزَٰٓؤُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٧٥﴾

Qaloo jazaohu man wujida fee rahlihi fahuwa jazaohu kathalika najzee al<i>thth</i>alimeena

انہوں نے کہا کہ اس کی سزا یہ ہے کہ جس کے شلیتے میں وہ دستیاب ہو وہی اس کا بدل قرار دیا جائے ہم ظالموں کو یہی سزا دیا کرتے ہیں

[The brothers] said, "Its recompense is that he in whose bag it is found - he [himself] will be its recompense. Thus do we recompense the wrongdoers."

فَبَدَأَ بِأَوْعِيَتِهِمْ قَبْلَ وِعَآءِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَخْرَجَهَا مِن وِعَآءِ أَخِيهِ كَذَٰلِكَ كِدْنَا لِيُوسُفَ مَا كَانَ لِيَأْخُذَ أَخَاهُ فِى دِينِ ٱلْمَلِكِ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَٰتٍ مَّن نَّشَآءُ وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِى عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٧٦﴾

Fabadaa biawAAiyatihim qabla wiAAai akheehi thumma istakhrajaha min wiAAai akheehi kathalika kidna liyoosufa ma kana liyakhutha akhahu fee deeni almaliki illa an yashaa Allahu narfaAAu darajatin man nashao wafawqa kulli thee AAilmin AAaleemun

پھر یوسف نے اپنے بھائی کے شلیتے سے پہلے ان کے شلیتوں کو دیکھنا شروع کیا پھر اپنے بھائی کے شلیتے میں سے اس کو نکال لیا۔ اس طرح ہم نے یوسف کے لیے تدبیر کی (ورنہ) بادشاہ کے قانون کے مطابق وہ مشیتِ خدا کے سوا اپنے بھائی کو لے نہیں سکتے تھے۔ ہم جس کے لیے چاہتے ہیں درجے بلند کرتے ہیں۔ اور ہر علم والے سے دوسرا علم والا بڑھ کر ہے

So he began [the search] with their bags before the bag of his brother; then he extracted it from the bag of his brother. Thus did We plan for Joseph. He could not have taken his brother within the religion of the king except that Allah willed. We raise in degrees whom We will, but over every possessor of knowledge is one [more] knowing.

قَالُوٓا۟ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِى نَفْسِهِۦ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ ﴿٧٧﴾

Qaloo in yasriq faqad saraqa akhun lahu min qablu faasarraha yoosufu fee nafsihi walam yubdiha lahum qala antum sharrun makanan waAllahu aAAlamu bima tasifoona

(برادران یوسف نے) کہا کہ اگر اس نے چوری کی ہو تو (کچھ عجب نہیں کہ) اس کے ایک بھائی نے بھی پہلے چوری کی تھی یوسف نے اس بات کو اپنے دل میں مخفی رکھا اور ان پر ظاہر نہ ہونے دیا (اور) کہا کہ تم بڑے بدقماش ہو۔ اور جو تم بیان کرتے ہو خدا اسے خوب جانتا ہے

They said, "If he steals - a brother of his has stolen before." But Joseph kept it within himself and did not reveal it to them. He said, "You are worse in position, and Allah is most knowing of what you describe."

قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْعَزِيزُ إِنَّ لَهُۥٓ أَبًا شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا فَخُذْ أَحَدَنَا مَكَانَهُۥٓ إِنَّا نَرَىٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿٧٨﴾

Qaloo ya ayyuha alAAazeezu inna lahu aban shaykhan kabeeran fakhuth ahadana makanahu inna naraka mina almuhsineena

وہ کہنے لگے کہ اے عزیز اس کے والد بہت بوڑھے ہیں (اور اس سے بہت محبت رکھتے ہیں) تو (اس کو چھوڑ دیجیےاور) اس کی جگہ ہم میں سے کسی کو رکھ لیجیئے۔ ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ آپ احسان کرنے والے ہیں

They said, "O 'Azeez, indeed he has a father [who is] an old man, so take one of us in place of him. Indeed, we see you as a doer of good."

قَالَ مَعَاذَ ٱللَّهِ أَن نَّأْخُذَ إِلَّا مَن وَجَدْنَا مَتَٰعَنَا عِندَهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّظَٰلِمُونَ ﴿٧٩﴾

Qala maAAatha Allahi an nakhutha illa man wajadna mataAAana AAindahu inna ithan la<i>th</i>alimoona

(یوسف نے) کہا کہ خدا پناہ میں رکھے کہ جس شخص کے پاس ہم نے اپنی چیز پائی ہے اس کے سوا کسی اور کو پکڑ لیں ایسا کریں تو ہم (بڑے) بےانصاف ہیں

He said, "[I seek] the refuge of Allah [to prevent] that we take except him with whom we found our possession. Indeed, we would then be unjust."

فَلَمَّا ٱسْتَيْـَٔسُوا۟ مِنْهُ خَلَصُوا۟ نَجِيًّا قَالَ كَبِيرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُم مَّوْثِقًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطتُمْ فِى يُوسُفَ فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ ٱلْأَرْضَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْذَنَ لِىٓ أَبِىٓ أَوْ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ لِى وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ ﴿٨٠﴾

Falamma istayasoo minhu khalasoo najiyyan qala kabeeruhum alam taAAlamoo anna abakum qad akhatha AAalaykum mawthiqan mina Allahi wamin qablu ma farrattum fee yoosufa falan abraha alarda hatta yathana lee abee aw yahkuma Allahu lee wahuwa khayru alhakimeena

جب وہ اس سے ناامید ہوگئے تو الگ ہو کر صلاح کرنے لگے۔ سب سے بڑے نے کہا کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ تمہارے والد نے تم سے خدا کا عہد لیا ہے اور اس سے پہلے بھی تم یوسف کے بارے میں قصور کر چکے ہو تو جب تک والد صاحب مجھے حکم نہ دیں میں تو اس جگہ سے ہلنے کا نہیں یا خدا میرے لیے کوئی اور تدبیر کرے۔ اور وہ سب سے بہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے

So when they had despaired of him, they secluded themselves in private consultation. The eldest of them said, "Do you not know that your father has taken upon you an oath by Allah and [that] before you failed in [your duty to] Joseph? So I will never leave [this] land until my father permits me or Allah decides for me, and He is the best of judges.

ٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِيكُمْ فَقُولُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّ ٱبْنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدْنَآ إِلَّا بِمَا عَلِمْنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلْغَيْبِ حَٰفِظِينَ ﴿٨١﴾

IrjiAAoo ila abeekum faqooloo ya abana inna ibnaka saraqa wama shahidna illa bima AAalimna wama kunna lilghaybi hafi<i>th</i>eena

تم سب والد صاحب کے پاس واپس جاؤ اور کہو کہ ابا آپ کے صاحبزادے نے (وہاں جا کر) چوری کی۔ اور ہم نے اپنی دانست کے مطابق آپ سے (اس کے لے آنے کا) عہد کیا تھا مگر ہم غیب کی باتوں کو جاننے اور یاد رکھنے والے تو نہیں تھے

Return to your father and say, "O our father, indeed your son has stolen, and we did not testify except to what we knew. And we were not witnesses of the unseen,

وَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنَّا فِيهَا وَٱلْعِيرَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ ﴿٨٢﴾

Waisali alqaryata allatee kunna feeha waalAAeera allatee aqbalna feeha wainna lasadiqoona

اور جس بستی میں ہم (ٹھہرے) تھے وہاں سے (یعنی اہل مصر سے) اور جس قافلے میں آئے ہیں اس سے دریافت کر لیجیئے اور ہم اس بیان میں بالکل سچے ہیں

And ask the city in which we were and the caravan in which we came - and indeed, we are truthful,"

قَالَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًا فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيلٌ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَأْتِيَنِى بِهِمْ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿٨٣﴾

Qala bal sawwalat lakum anfusukum amran fasabrun jameelun AAasa Allahu an yatiyanee bihim jameeAAan innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu

(جب انہوں نے یہ بات یعقوب سے آ کر کہی تو) انہوں نے کہا کہ (حقیقت یوں نہیں ہے) بلکہ یہ بات تم نے اپنے دل سے بنالی ہے تو صبر ہی بہتر ہے۔ عجب نہیں کہ خدا ان سب کو میرے پاس لے آئے۔ بےشک وہ دانا (اور) حکمت والا ہے

[Jacob] said, "Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. Perhaps Allah will bring them to me all together. Indeed it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise."

وَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰٓأَسَفَىٰ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَٱبْيَضَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ مِنَ ٱلْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ ﴿٨٤﴾

Watawalla AAanhum waqala ya asafa AAala yoosufa waibyaddat AAaynahu mina alhuzni fahuwa ka<i>th</i>eemun

پھر ان کے پاس سے چلے گئے اور کہنے لگے ہائے افسوس یوسف (ہائے افسوس) اور رنج والم میں (اس قدر روئے کہ) ان کی آنکھیں سفید ہوگئیں اور ان کا دل غم سے بھر رہا تھا

And he turned away from them and said, "Oh, my sorrow over Joseph," and his eyes became white from grief, for he was [of that] a suppressor.

قَالُوا۟ تَٱللَّهِ تَفْتَؤُا۟ تَذْكُرُ يُوسُفَ حَتَّىٰ تَكُونَ حَرَضًا أَوْ تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْهَٰلِكِينَ ﴿٨٥﴾

Qaloo taAllahi taftao tathkuru yoosufa hatta takoona haradan aw takoona mina alhalikeena

بیٹے کہنے لگے کہ والله اگر آپ یوسف کو اسی طرح یاد ہی کرتے رہیں گے تو یا تو بیمار ہوجائیں گے یا جان ہی دے دیں گے

They said, "By Allah, you will not cease remembering Joseph until you become fatally ill or become of those who perish."

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَشْكُوا۟ بَثِّى وَحُزْنِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٨٦﴾

Qala innama ashkoo baththee wahuznee ila Allahi waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

انہوں نے کہا کہ میں اپنے غم واندوہ کا اظہار خدا سے کرتا ہوں۔ اور خدا کی طرف سے وہ باتیں جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے

He said, "I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know.

يَٰبَنِىَّ ٱذْهَبُوا۟ فَتَحَسَّسُوا۟ مِن يُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ وَلَا تَا۟يْـَٔسُوا۟ مِن رَّوْحِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يَا۟يْـَٔسُ مِن رَّوْحِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ ﴿٨٧﴾

Ya baniyya ithhaboo fatahassasoo min yoosufa waakheehi wala tayasoo min rawhi Allahi innahu la yayasu min rawhi Allahi illa alqawmu alkafiroona

بیٹا (یوں کرو کہ ایک دفعہ پھر) جاؤ اور یوسف اور اس کے بھائی کو تلاش کرو اور خدا کی رحمت سے ناامید نہ ہو۔ کہ خدا کی رحمت سے بےایمان لوگ ناامید ہوا کرتے ہیں

O my sons, go and find out about Joseph and his brother and despair not of relief from Allah. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people."

فَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْعَزِيزُ مَسَّنَا وَأَهْلَنَا ٱلضُّرُّ وَجِئْنَا بِبِضَٰعَةٍ مُّزْجَىٰةٍ فَأَوْفِ لَنَا ٱلْكَيْلَ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجْزِى ٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ ﴿٨٨﴾

Falamma dakhaloo AAalayhi qaloo ya ayyuha alAAazeezu massana waahlana alddurru wajina bibidaAAatin muzjatin faawfi lana alkayla watasaddaq AAalayna inna Allaha yajzee almutasaddiqeena

جب وہ یوسف کے پاس گئے تو کہنے لگے کہ عزیز ہمیں اور ہمارے اہل وعیال کو بڑی تکلیف ہو رہی ہے اور ہم تھوڑا سا سرمایہ لائے ہیں آپ ہمیں (اس کے عوض) پورا غلّہ دے دیجیئے اور خیرات کیجیئے۔ کہ خدا خیرات کرنے والوں کو ثواب دیتا ہے

So when they entered upon Joseph, they said, "O 'Azeez, adversity has touched us and our family, and we have come with goods poor in quality, but give us full measure and be charitable to us. Indeed, Allah rewards the charitable."

قَالَ هَلْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا فَعَلْتُم بِيُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ إِذْ أَنتُمْ جَٰهِلُونَ ﴿٨٩﴾

Qala hal AAalimtum ma faAAaltum biyoosufa waakheehi ith antum jahiloona

(یوسف نے) کہا تمہیں معلوم ہے جب تم نادانی میں پھنسے ہوئے تھے تو تم نے یوسف اور اس کے بھائی کے ساتھ کیا کیا تھا

He said, "Do you know what you did with Joseph and his brother when you were ignorant?"

قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ يُوسُفُ قَالَ أَنَا۠ يُوسُفُ وَهَٰذَآ أَخِى قَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَتَّقِ وَيَصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿٩٠﴾

Qaloo ainnaka laanta yoosufa qala ana yoosufu wahatha akhee qad manna Allahu AAalayna innahu man yattaqi wayasbir fainna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena

وہ بولے کیا تم ہی یوسف ہو؟ انہوں نے کہا ہاں میں ہی یوسف ہوں۔ اور (بنیامین کی طرف اشارہ کرکے کہنے لگے) یہ میرا بھائی ہے خدا نے ہم پر بڑا احسان کیا ہے۔ جو شخص خدا سے ڈرتا اور صبر کرتا ہے تو خدا نیکوکاروں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتا

They said, "Are you indeed Joseph?" He said "I am Joseph, and this is my brother. Allah has certainly favored us. Indeed, he who fears Allah and is patient, then indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good."

قَالُوا۟ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدْ ءَاثَرَكَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَإِن كُنَّا لَخَٰطِـِٔينَ ﴿٩١﴾

Qaloo taAllahi laqad atharaka Allahu AAalayna wain kunna lakhatieena

وہ بولے خدا کی قسم خدا نے تم کو ہم پر فضیلت بخشی ہے اور بےشک ہم خطاکار تھے

They said, "By Allah, certainly has Allah preferred you over us, and indeed, we have been sinners."

قَالَ لَا تَثْرِيبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ يَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ﴿٩٢﴾

Qala la tathreeba AAalaykumu alyawma yaghfiru Allahu lakum wahuwa arhamu alrrahimeena

(یوسف نے) کہا کہ آج کے دن سے تم پر کچھ عتاب (وملامت) نہیں ہے۔ خدا تم کو معاف کرے۔ اور وہ بہت رحم کرنے والا ہے

He said, "No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful."

ٱذْهَبُوا۟ بِقَمِيصِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقُوهُ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِ أَبِى يَأْتِ بَصِيرًا وَأْتُونِى بِأَهْلِكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿٩٣﴾

Ithhaboo biqameesee hatha faalqoohu AAala wajhi abee yati baseeran watoonee biahlikum ajmaAAeena

یہ میرا کرتہ لے جاؤ اور اسے والد صاحب کے منہ پر ڈال دو۔ وہ بینا ہو جائیں گے۔ اور اپنے تمام اہل وعیال کو میرے پاس لے آؤ

Take this, my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father; he will become seeing. And bring me your family, all together."

وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ ٱلْعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمْ إِنِّى لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلَآ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ ﴿٩٤﴾

Walamma fasalati alAAeeru qala aboohum innee laajidu reeha yoosufa lawla an tufannidooni

اور جب قافلہ (مصر سے) روانہ ہوا تو ان کے والد کہنے لگے کہ اگر مجھ کو یہ نہ کہو کہ (بوڑھا) بہک گیا ہے تو مجھے تو یوسف کی بو آ رہی ہے

And when the caravan departed [from Egypt], their father said, "Indeed, I find the smell of Joseph [and would say that he was alive] if you did not think me weakened in mind."

قَالُوا۟ تَٱللَّهِ إِنَّكَ لَفِى ضَلَٰلِكَ ٱلْقَدِيمِ ﴿٩٥﴾

Qaloo taAllahi innaka lafee dalalika alqadeemi

وہ بولے کہ والله آپ اسی قدیم غلطی میں (مبتلا) ہیں

They said, "By Allah, indeed you are in your [same] old error."

فَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَ ٱلْبَشِيرُ أَلْقَىٰهُ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ فَٱرْتَدَّ بَصِيرًا قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٩٦﴾

Falamma an jaa albasheeru alqahu AAala wajhihi fairtadda baseeran qala alam aqul lakum innee aAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

جب خوشخبری دینے والا آ پہنچا تو کرتہ یعقوب کے منہ پر ڈال دیا اور وہ بینا ہو گئے (اور بیٹوں سے) کہنے لگے کیا میں نے تم سے نہیں کہا تھا کہ میں خدا کی طرف سے وہ باتیں جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے

And when the bearer of good tidings arrived, he cast it over his face, and he returned [once again] seeing. He said, "Did I not tell you that I know from Allah that which you do not know?"

قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا ٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا خَٰطِـِٔينَ ﴿٩٧﴾

Qaloo ya abana istaghfir lana thunoobana inna kunna khatieena

بیٹوں نے کہا کہ ابا ہمارے لیے ہمارے گناہ کی مغفرت مانگیئے۔ بےشک ہم خطاکار تھے

They said, "O our father, ask for us forgiveness of our sins; indeed, we have been sinners."

قَالَ سَوْفَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكُمْ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿٩٨﴾

Qala sawfa astaghfiru lakum rabbee innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu

انہوں نے کہا کہ میں اپنے پروردگار سے تمہارے لیے بخشش مانگوں گا۔ بےشک وہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

He said, "I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

فَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ ءَاوَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ أَبَوَيْهِ وَقَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ مِصْرَ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ءَامِنِينَ ﴿٩٩﴾

Falamma dakhaloo AAala yoosufa awa ilayhi abawayhi waqala odkhuloo misra in shaa Allahu amineena

جب یہ (سب لوگ) یوسف کے پاس پہنچے تو یوسف نے اپنے والدین کو اپنے پاس بٹھایا اور کہا مصر میں داخل ہو جائیے خدا نے چاہا تو جمع خاطر سے رہیئے گا

And when they entered upon Joseph, he took his parents to himself and said, "Enter Egypt, Allah willing, safe [and secure]."

وَرَفَعَ أَبَوَيْهِ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ وَخَرُّوا۟ لَهُۥ سُجَّدًا وَقَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ هَٰذَا تَأْوِيلُ رُءْيَٰىَ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَعَلَهَا رَبِّى حَقًّا وَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ بِىٓ إِذْ أَخْرَجَنِى مِنَ ٱلسِّجْنِ وَجَآءَ بِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْبَدْوِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن نَّزَغَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَ إِخْوَتِىٓ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَطِيفٌ لِّمَا يَشَآءُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿١٠٠﴾

WarafaAAa abawayhi AAala alAAarshi wakharroo lahu sujjadan waqala ya abati hatha taweelu ruyaya min qablu qad jaAAalaha rabbee haqqan waqad ahsana bee ith akhrajanee mina alssijni wajaa bikum mina albadwi min baAAdi an nazagha alshshaytanu baynee wabayna ikhwatee inna rabbee lateefun lima yashao innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu

اور اپنے والدین کو تخت پر بٹھایا اور سب یوسفؑ کے آگے سجدہ میں گر پڑے اور (اس وقت) یوسف نے کہا ابا جان یہ میرے اس خواب کی تعبیر ہے جو میں نے پہلے (بچپن میں) دیکھا تھا۔ میرے پروردگار نے اسے سچ کر دکھایا اور اس نے مجھ پر (بہت سے) احسان کئے ہیں کہ مجھ کو جیل خانے سے نکالا۔ اور اس کے بعد کہ شیطان نے مجھ میں اور میرے بھائیوں میں فساد ڈال دیا تھا۔ آپ کو گاؤں سے یہاں لایا۔ بےشک میرا پروردگار جو چاہتا ہے تدبیر سے کرتا ہے۔ وہ دانا (اور) حکمت والا ہے

And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, "O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.

رَبِّ قَدْ ءَاتَيْتَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُلْكِ وَعَلَّمْتَنِى مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِىِّۦ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِى مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿١٠١﴾

Rabbi qad ataytanee mina almulki waAAallamtanee min taweeli alahadeethi fatira alssamawati waalardi anta waliyyee fee alddunya waalakhirati tawaffanee musliman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena

(جب یہ سب باتیں ہولیں تو یوسف نے خدا سے دعا کی کہ) اے میرے پروردگار تو نے مجھ کو حکومت سے بہرہ دیا اور خوابوں کی تعبیر کا علم بخشا۔ اے آسمانوں اور زمین کے پیدا کرنے والے تو ہی دنیا اور آخرت میں میرا کارساز ہے۔ تو مجھے (دنیا سے) اپنی اطاعت (کی حالت) میں اٹھائیو اور (آخرت میں) اپنے نیک بندوں میں داخل کیجیو

My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous."

ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ أَجْمَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَمْكُرُونَ ﴿١٠٢﴾

Thalika min anbai alghaybi nooheehi ilayka wama kunta ladayhim ith ajmaAAoo amrahum wahum yamkuroona

(اے پیغمبر) یہ اخبار غیب میں سے ہیں جو ہم تمہاری طرف بھیجتے ہیں اور جب برادران یوسف نے اپنی بات پر اتفاق کیا تھا اور وہ فریب کر رہے تھے تو تم ان کے پاس تو نہ تھے

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal, [O Muhammad], to you. And you were not with them when they put together their plan while they conspired.

وَمَآ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٠٣﴾

Wama aktharu alnnasi walaw harasta bimumineena

اور بہت سے آدمی گو تم (کتنی ہی) خواہش کرو ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں

And most of the people, although you strive [for it], are not believers.

وَمَا تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٠٤﴾

Wama tasaluhum AAalayhi min ajrin in huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena

اور تم ان سے اس (خیر خواہی) کا کچھ صلا بھی تو نہیں مانگتے۔ یہ قرآن اور کچھ نہیں تمام عالم کے لیے نصیحت ہے

And you do not ask of them for it any payment. It is not except a reminder to the worlds.

وَكَأَيِّن مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضُونَ ﴿١٠٥﴾

Wakaayyin min ayatin fee alssamawati waalardi yamurroona AAalayha wahum AAanha muAAridoona

اور آسمان و زمین میں بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں جن پر یہ گزرتے ہیں اور ان سے اعراض کرتے ہیں

And how many a sign within the heavens and earth do they pass over while they, therefrom, are turning away.

وَمَا يُؤْمِنُ أَكْثَرُهُم بِٱللَّهِ إِلَّا وَهُم مُّشْرِكُونَ ﴿١٠٦﴾

Wama yuminu aktharuhum biAllahi illa wahum mushrikoona

اور یہ اکثر خدا پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے۔ مگر (اس کے ساتھ) شرک کرتے ہیں

And most of them believe not in Allah except while they associate others with Him.

أَفَأَمِنُوٓا۟ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ غَٰشِيَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿١٠٧﴾

Afaaminoo an tatiyahum ghashiyatun min AAathabi Allahi aw tatiyahumu alssaAAatu baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona

کیا یہ اس (بات) سے بےخوف ہیں کہ ان پر خدا کا عذاب نازل ہو کر ان کو ڈھانپ لے یا ان پر ناگہاں قیامت آجائے اور انہیں خبر بھی نہ ہو

Then do they feel secure that there will not come to them an overwhelming [aspect] of the punishment of Allah or that the Hour will not come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive?

قُلْ هَٰذِهِۦ سَبِيلِىٓ أَدْعُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا۠ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِى وَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿١٠٨﴾

Qul hathihi sabeelee adAAoo ila Allahi AAala baseeratin ana wamani ittabaAAanee wasubhana Allahi wama ana mina almushrikeena

کہہ دو میرا رستہ تو یہ ہے میں خدا کی طرف بلاتا ہوں (از روئے یقین وبرہان) سمجھ بوجھ کر میں بھی (لوگوں کو خدا کی طرف بلاتا ہوں) اور میرے پیرو بھی۔ اور خدا پاک ہے۔ اور میں شرک کرنے والوں میں سے نہیں ہوں

Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَدَارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١٠٩﴾

Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim min ahli alqura afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayan<i>th</i>uroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim waladaru alakhirati khayrun lillatheena ittaqaw afala taAAqiloona

اور ہم نے تم سے پہلے بستیوں کے رہنے والوں میں سے مرد ہی بھیجے تھے جن کی طرف ہم وحی بھیجتے تھے۔ کیا ان لوگوں نے ملک میں سیر (وسیاحت) نہیں کی کہ دیکھ لیتے کہ جو لوگ ان سے پہلے تھے ان کا انجام کیا ہوا۔ اور متّقیوں کے لیے آخرت کا گھر بہت اچھا ہے۔ کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں؟

And We sent not before you [as messengers] except men to whom We revealed from among the people of cities. So have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? And the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah; then will you not reason?

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱسْتَيْـَٔسَ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ كُذِبُوا۟ جَآءَهُمْ نَصْرُنَا فَنُجِّىَ مَن نَّشَآءُ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿١١٠﴾

Hatta itha istayasa alrrusulu wa<i>th</i>annoo annahum qad kuthiboo jaahum nasruna fanujjiya man nashao wala yuraddu basuna AAani alqawmi almujrimeena

یہاں تک کہ جب پیغمبر ناامید ہوگئے اور انہوں نے خیال کیا کہ اپنی نصرت کے بارے میں جو بات انہوں نے کہی تھی (اس میں) وہ سچے نہ نکلے تو ان کے پاس ہماری مدد آ پہنچی۔ پھر جسے ہم نے چاہا بچا دیا۔ اور ہمارا عذاب (اتر کر) گنہگار لوگوں سے پھرا نہیں کرتا

[They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals.

لَقَدْ كَانَ فِى قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَىٰ وَلَٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١١١﴾

Laqad kana fee qasasihim AAibratun liolee alalbabi ma kana hadeethan yuftara walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi watafseela kulli shayin wahudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona

ان کے قصے میں عقلمندوں کے لیے عبرت ہے۔ یہ (قرآن) ایسی بات نہیں ہے جو (اپنے دل سے) بنائی گئی ہو بلکہ جو (کتابیں) اس سے پہلے نازل ہوئی ہیں ان کی تصدیق (کرنے والا) ہے اور مومنوں کے لیے ہدایت اور رحمت ہے

There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was the Qur'an a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

الٓمٓر تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١﴾

Aliflammeemra tilka ayatu alkitabi waallathee onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona

الٓمرا۔ (اے محمد) یہ کتاب (الہیٰ) کی آیتیں ہیں۔ اور جو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم پر نازل ہوا ہے حق ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ ایمان نہیں لاتے

Alif, Lam, Meem, Ra. These are the verses of the Book; and what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most of the people do not believe.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ ﴿٢﴾

Allahu allathee rafaAAa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnaha thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman yudabbiru alamra yufassilu alayati laAAallakum biliqai rabbikum tooqinoona

خدا وہی تو ہے جس نے ستونوں کے بغیر آسمان جیسا کہ تم دیکھتے ہو (اتنے) اونچے بنائے۔ پھر عرش پر جا ٹھہرا اور سورج اور چاند کو کام میں لگا دیا۔ ہر ایک ایک میعاد معین تک گردش کر رہا ہے۔ وہی (دنیا کے) کاموں کا انتظام کرتا ہے (اس طرح) وہ اپنی آیتیں کھول کھول کر بیان کرتا ہے کہ تم اپنے پروردگار کے روبرو جانے کا یقین کرو

It is Allah who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established Himself above the Throne and made subject the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَدَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ﴿٣﴾

Wahuwa allathee madda alarda wajaAAala feeha rawasiya waanharan wamin kulli alththamarati jaAAala feeha zawjayni ithnayni yughshee allayla alnnahara inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona

اور وہ وہی ہے جس نے زمین کو پھیلایا اور اس میں پہاڑ اور دریا پیدا کئے اور ہر طرح کے میوؤں کی دو دو قسمیں بنائیں۔ وہی رات کو دن کا لباس پہناتا ہے۔ غور کرنے والوں کے لیے اس میں بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں

And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٌ وَجَنَّٰتٌ مِّنْ أَعْنَٰبٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِيلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ يُسْقَىٰ بِمَآءٍ وَٰحِدٍ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِى ٱلْأُكُلِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٤﴾

Wafee alardi qitaAAun mutajawiratun wajannatun min aAAnabin wazarAAun wanakheelun sinwanun waghayru sinwanin yusqa bimain wahidin wanufaddilu baAAdaha AAala baAAdin fee alokuli inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona

اور زمین میں کئی طرح کے قطعات ہیں۔ ایک دوسرے سے ملے ہوئے اور انگور کے باغ اور کھیتی اور کھجور کے درخت۔ بعض کی بہت سی شاخیں ہوتی ہیں اور بعض کی اتنی نہیں ہوتیں (باوجود یہ کہ) پانی سب کو ایک ہی ملتا ہے۔ اور ہم بعض میوؤں کو بعض پر لذت میں فضیلت دیتے ہیں۔ اس میں سمجھنے والوں کے لیے بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں

And within the land are neighboring plots and gardens of grapevines and crops and palm trees, [growing] several from a root or otherwise, watered with one water; but We make some of them exceed others in [quality of] fruit. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.

وَإِن تَعْجَبْ فَعَجَبٌ قَوْلُهُمْ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِى خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَغْلَٰلُ فِىٓ أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٥﴾

Wain taAAjab faAAajabun qawluhum aitha kunna turaban ainna lafee khalqin jadeedin olaika allatheena kafaroo birabbihim waolaika alaghlalu fee aAAnaqihim waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

اگر تم عجیب بات سننی چاہو تو کافروں کا یہ کہنا عجیب ہے کہ جب ہم (مر کر) مٹی ہو جائیں گے تو کیا ازسرنو پیدا ہوں گے؟ یہی لوگ ہیں جو اپنے پروردگار سے منکر ہوئے ہیں۔ اور یہی ہیں جن کی گردنوں میں طوق ہوں گے اور یہی اہل دوزخ ہیں کہ ہمیشہ اس میں (جلتے) رہیں گے

And if you are astonished, [O Muhammad] - then astonishing is their saying, "When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?" Those are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have shackles upon their necks, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِمُ ٱلْمَثُلَٰتُ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلْمِهِمْ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ﴿٦﴾

WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wainna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAala <i>th</i>ulmihim wainna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi

اور یہ لوگ بھلائی سے پہلے تم سے برائی کے جلد خواستگار یعنی (طالب عذاب) ہیں حالانکہ ان سے پہلے عذاب (واقع) ہوچکے ہیں اور تمہارا پروردگار لوگوں کو باوجود ان کی بےانصافیوں کے معاف کرنے والا ہے۔ اور بےشک تمہارا پروردگار سخت عذاب دینے والا ہے

They impatiently urge you to bring about evil before good, while there has already occurred before them similar punishments [to what they demand]. And indeed, your Lord is full of forgiveness for the people despite their wrongdoing, and indeed, your Lord is severe in penalty.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرٌ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هَادٍ ﴿٧﴾

Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi innama anta munthirun walikulli qawmin hadin

اور کافر لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اس (پیغمبر) پر اس کے پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی نشانی نازل نہیں ہوئی۔ سو (اے محمدﷺ) تم تو صرف ہدایت کرنے والے ہو اور ہر ایک قوم کے لیے رہنما ہوا کرتا ہے

And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide.

ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ ٱلْأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ عِندَهُۥ بِمِقْدَارٍ ﴿٨﴾

Allahu yaAAlamu ma tahmilu kullu ontha wama tagheedu alarhamu wama tazdadu wakullu shayin AAindahu bimiqdarin

خدا ہی اس بچے سے واقف ہے جو عورت کے پیٹ میں ہوتا ہے اور پیٹ کے سکڑنے اور بڑھنے سے بھی (واقف ہے) ۔ اور ہر چیز کا اس کے ہاں ایک اندازہ مقرر ہے

Allah knows what every female carries and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed. And everything with Him is by due measure.

عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ ٱلْكَبِيرُ ٱلْمُتَعَالِ ﴿٩﴾

AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati alkabeeru almutaAAali

وہ دانائے نہاں وآشکار ہے سب سے بزرگ (اور) عالی رتبہ ہے

[He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted.

سَوَآءٌ مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ ٱلْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍۭ بِٱلَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ ﴿١٠﴾

Sawaon minkum man asarra alqawla waman jahara bihi waman huwa mustakhfin biallayli wasaribun bialnnahari

کوئی تم میں سے چپکے سے بات کہے یا پکار کر یا رات کو کہیں چھپ جائے یا دن کی روشنی میں کھلم کھلا چلے پھرے (اس کے نزدیک) برابر ہے

It is the same [to Him] concerning you whether one conceals [his] speech or one publicizes it and whether one is hidden by night or conspicuous [among others] by day.

لَهُۥ مُعَقِّبَٰتٌ مِّنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ يَحْفَظُونَهُۥ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوٓءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ ﴿١١﴾

Lahu muAAaqqibatun min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi yahfa<i>th</i>oonahu min amri Allahi inna Allaha la yughayyiru ma biqawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bianfusihim waitha arada Allahu biqawmin sooan fala maradda lahu wama lahum min doonihi min walin

اس کے آگے اور پیچھے خدا کے چوکیدار ہیں جو خدا کے حکم سے اس کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں۔ خدا اس (نعمت) کو جو کسی قوم کو (حاصل) ہے نہیں بدلتا جب تک کہ وہ اپنی حالت کو نہ بدلے۔ اور جب خدا کسی قوم کے ساتھ برائی کا ارادہ کرتا ہے تو پھر وہ پھر نہیں سکتی۔ اور خدا کے سوا ان کا کوئی مددگار نہیں ہوتا

For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah. Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنشِئُ ٱلسَّحَابَ ٱلثِّقَالَ ﴿١٢﴾

Huwa allathee yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunshio alssahaba alththiqala

اور وہی تو ہے جو تم کو ڈرانے اور امید دلانے کے لیے بجلی دکھاتا اور بھاری بھاری بادل پیدا کرتا ہے

It is He who shows you lightening, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds.

وَيُسَبِّحُ ٱلرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِۦ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِۦ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُمْ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْمِحَالِ ﴿١٣﴾

Wayusabbihu alrraAAdu bihamdihi waalmalaikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu alssawaAAiqa fayuseebu biha man yashao wahum yujadiloona fee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihali

اور رعد اور فرشتے سب اس کے خوف سے اس کی تسبیح و تحمید کرتے رہتے ہیں اور وہی بجلیاں بھیجتا ہے پھر جس پر چاہتا ہے گرا بھی دیتا ہے اور وہ خدا کے بارے میں جھگڑتے ہیں۔ اور وہ بڑی قوت والا ہے

And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him - and the angels [as well] from fear of Him - and He sends thunderbolts and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about Allah; and He is severe in assault.

لَهُۥ دَعْوَةُ ٱلْحَقِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَىْءٍ إِلَّا كَبَٰسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى ٱلْمَآءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَٰلِغِهِۦ وَمَا دُعَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍ ﴿١٤﴾

Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi waallatheena yadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishayin illa kabasiti kaffayhi ila almai liyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wama duAAao alkafireena illa fee dalalin

سودمند پکارنا تو اسی کا ہے اور جن کو یہ لوگ اس کے سوا پکارتے ہیں وہ ان کی پکار کو کسی طرح قبول نہیں کرتے مگر اس شخص کی طرح جو اپنے دونوں ہاتھ پانی کی طرف پھیلا دے تاکہ (دور ہی سے) اس کے منہ تک آ پہنچے حالانکہ وہ (اس تک کبھی بھی) نہیں آسکتا اور (اسی طرح) کافروں کی پکار بیکار ہے

To Him [alone] is the supplication of truth. And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus]. And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e. futility].

وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَظِلَٰلُهُم بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْـَٔاصَالِ ﴿١٥﴾

Walillahi yasjudu man fee alssamawati waalardi tawAAan wakarhan wa<i>th</i>ilaluhum bialghuduwwi waalasali

اور جتنی مخلوقات آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے خوشی سے یا زبردستی سے خدا کے آگے سجدہ کرتی ہے اور ان کے سائے بھی صبح وشام (سجدے کرتے ہیں)

And to Allah prostrates whoever is within the heavens and the earth, willingly or by compulsion, and their shadows [as well] in the mornings and the afternoons.

قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ قُلْ أَفَٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتُ وَٱلنُّورُ أَمْ جَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ خَلَقُوا۟ كَخَلْقِهِۦ فَتَشَٰبَهَ ٱلْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ خَٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّٰرُ ﴿١٦﴾

Qul man rabbu alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu qul afaittakhathtum min doonihi awliyaa la yamlikoona lianfusihim nafAAan wala darran qul hal yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru am hal tastawee al<i>thth</i>ulumatu waalnnooru am jaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa khalaqoo kakhalqihi fatashabaha alkhalqu AAalayhim quli Allahu khaliqu kulli shayin wahuwa alwahidu alqahharu

ان سے پوچھو کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کا پروردگار کون ہے؟ (تم ہی ان کی طرف سے) کہہ دو کہ خدا۔ پھر (ان سے) کہو کہ تم نے خدا کو چھوڑ کر ایسے لوگوں کو کیوں کارساز بنایا ہے جو خود اپنے نفع ونقصان کا بھی اختیار نہیں رکھتے (یہ بھی) پوچھو کیا اندھا اور آنکھوں والا برابر ہیں؟ یا اندھیرا اور اُجالا برابر ہوسکتا ہے؟ بھلا ان لوگوں نے جن کو خدا کا شریک مقرر کیا ہے۔ کیا انہوں نے خدا کی سی مخلوقات پیدا کی ہے جس کے سبب ان کو مخلوقات مشتبہ ہوگئی ہے۔ کہہ دو کہ خدا ہی ہر چیز کا پیدا کرنے والا ہے اور وہ یکتا (اور) زبردست ہے

Say, "Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?" Say, "Allah." Say, "Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?" Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allah partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?" Say, "Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing."

أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتْ أَوْدِيَةٌۢ بِقَدَرِهَا فَٱحْتَمَلَ ٱلسَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ٱبْتِغَآءَ حِلْيَةٍ أَوْ مَتَٰعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْحَقَّ وَٱلْبَٰطِلَ فَأَمَّا ٱلزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَآءً وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ ﴿١٧﴾

Anzala mina alssamai maan fasalat awdiyatun biqadariha faihtamala alssaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimma yooqidoona AAalayhi fee alnnari ibtighaa hilyatin aw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribu Allahu alhaqqa waalbatila faamma alzzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waamma ma yanfaAAu alnnasa fayamkuthu fee alardi kathalika yadribu Allahu alamthala

اسی نے آسمان سے مینہ برسایا پھر اس سے اپنے اپنے اندازے کے مطابق نالے بہہ نکلے پھر نالے پر پھولا ہوا جھاگ آگیا۔ اور جس چیز کو زیور یا کوئی اور سامان بنانے کے لیے آگ میں تپاتے ہیں اس میں بھی ایسا ہی جھاگ ہوتا ہے۔ اس طرح خدا حق اور باطل کی مثال بیان فرماتا ہے۔ سو جھاگ تو سوکھ کر زائل ہو جاتا ہے۔ اور (پانی) جو لوگوں کو فائدہ پہنچاتا ہے وہ زمین میں ٹھہرا رہتا ہے۔ اس طرح خدا (صحیح اور غلط کی) مثالیں بیان فرماتا ہے (تاکہ تم سمجھو)

He sends down from the sky, rain, and valleys flow according to their capacity, and the torrent carries a rising foam. And from that [ore] which they heat in the fire, desiring adornments and utensils, is a foam like it. Thus Allah presents [the example of] truth and falsehood. As for the foam, it vanishes, [being] cast off; but as for that which benefits the people, it remains on the earth. Thus does Allah present examples.

لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَهُۥ لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لَٱفْتَدَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلْحِسَابِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ ﴿١٨﴾

Lillatheena istajaboo lirabbihimu alhusna waallatheena lam yastajeeboo lahu law anna lahum ma fee alardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi olaika lahum sooo alhisabi wamawahum jahannamu wabisa almihadu

جن لوگوں نے خدا کے حکم کو قبول کیا ان کی حالت بہت بہتر ہوگی۔ اور جنہوں نے اس کو قبول نہ کیا اگر روئے زمین کے سب خزانے ان کے اختیار میں ہوں تو وہ سب کے سب اور ان کے ساتھ اتنے ہی اور (نجات کے) بدلے میں صرف کرڈالیں (مگر نجات کہاں؟) ایسے لوگوں کا حساب بھی برا ہوگا۔ اور ان کا ٹھکانا بھی دوزخ ہے۔ اور وہ بری جگہ ہے

For those who have responded to their Lord is the best [reward], but those who did not respond to Him - if they had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby. Those will have the worst account, and their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.

أَفَمَن يَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلْحَقُّ كَمَنْ هُوَ أَعْمَىٰٓ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ ﴿١٩﴾

Afaman yaAAlamu annama onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu kaman huwa aAAma innama yatathakkaru oloo alalbabi

بھلا جو شخص یہ جانتا ہے کہ جو کچھ تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم پر نازل ہوا ہے حق ہے وہ اس شخص کی طرح ہے جو اندھا ہے اور سمجھتے تو وہی ہیں جو عقلمند ہیں

Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind? They will only be reminded who are people of understanding -

ٱلَّذِينَ يُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَنقُضُونَ ٱلْمِيثَٰقَ ﴿٢٠﴾

Allatheena yoofoona biAAahdi Allahi wala yanqudoona almeethaqa

جو خدا کے عہد کو پورا کرتے ہیں اور اقرار کو نہیں توڑتے

Those who fulfill the covenant of Allah and do not break the contract,

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوٓءَ ٱلْحِسَابِ ﴿٢١﴾

Waallatheena yasiloona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayakhshawna rabbahum wayakhafoona sooa alhisabi

اور جن (رشتہ ہائے قرابت) کے جوڑے رکھنے کا خدا نے حکم دیا ہے ان کو جوڑے رکھتے اور اپنے پروردگار سے ڈرتے رہتے اور برے حساب سے خوف رکھتے ہیں

And those who join that which Allah has ordered to be joined and fear their Lord and are afraid of the evil of [their] account,

وَٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ ﴿٢٢﴾

Waallatheena sabaroo ibtighaa wajhi rabbihim waaqamoo alssalata waanfaqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan wayadraoona bialhasanati alssayyiata olaika lahum AAuqba alddari

اور جو پروردگار کی خوشنودی حاصل کرنے کے لیے (مصائب پر) صبر کرتے ہیں اور نماز پڑھتے ہیں اور جو (مال) ہم نے ان کو دیا ہے اس میں سے پوشیدہ اور ظاہر خرچ کرتے ہیں اور نیکی سے برائی دور کرتے ہیں یہی لوگ ہیں جن کے لیے عاقبت کا گھر ہے

And those who are patient, seeking the countenance of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home -

جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن كُلِّ بَابٍ ﴿٢٣﴾

Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha waman salaha min abaihim waazwajihim wathurriyyatihim waalmalaikatu yadkhuloona AAalayhim min kulli babin

(یعنی) ہمیشہ رہنے کے باغات جن میں وہ داخل ہوں گے اور ان کے باپ دادا اور بیبیوں اور اولاد میں سے جو نیکوکار ہوں گے وہ بھی (بہشت میں جائیں گے) اور فرشتے (بہشت کے) ہر ایک دروازے سے ان کے پاس آئیں گے

Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُم بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ ﴿٢٤﴾

Salamun AAalaykum bima sabartum faniAAma AAuqba alddari

(اور کہیں گے) تم پر رحمت ہو (یہ) تمہاری ثابت قدمی کا بدلہ ہے اور عاقبت کا گھر خوب (گھر) ہے

"Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ ﴿٢٥﴾

Waallatheena yanqudoona AAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee alardi olaika lahumu allaAAnatu walahum sooo alddari

اور جو لوگ خدا سے عہد واثق کر کے اس کو توڑ ڈالتے اور (رشتہ ہائے قرابت) کے جوڑے رکھنے کا خدا نے حکم دیا ہے ان کو قطع کر دیتے ہیں اور ملک میں فساد کرتے ہیں۔ ایسوں پر لعنت ہے اور ان کے لیے گھر بھی برا ہے

But those who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth - for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home.

ٱللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَفَرِحُوا۟ بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَٰعٌ ﴿٢٦﴾

Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bialhayati alddunya wama alhayatu alddunya fee alakhirati illa mataAAun

خدا جس کا چاہتا ہے رزق فراخ کر دیتا ہے اور (جس کا چاہتا ہے) تنگ کر دیتا ہے۔ اور کافر لوگ دنیا کی زندگی پر خوش ہو رہے ہیں اور دنیا کی زندگی آخرت (کے مقابلے) میں (بہت) تھوڑا فائدہ ہے

Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ ﴿٢٧﴾

Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee ilayhi man anaba

اور کافر کہتے ہیں کہ اس (پیغمبر) پر اس کے پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی نشانی کیوں نازل نہیں ہوئی۔ کہہ دو کہ خدا جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ کرتا ہے اور جو (اس کی طرف) رجوع ہوتا ہے اس کو اپنی طرف کا رستہ دکھاتا ہے

And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, Allah leaves astray whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him] -

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ﴿٢٨﴾

Allatheena amanoo watatmainnu quloobuhum bithikri Allahi ala bithikri Allahi tatmainnu alquloobu

(یعنی) جو لوگ ایمان لاتے اور جن کے دل یادِ خدا سے آرام پاتے ہیں (ان کو) اور سن رکھو کہ خدا کی یاد سے دل آرام پاتے ہیں

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ طُوبَىٰ لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَـَٔابٍ ﴿٢٩﴾

Allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati tooba lahum wahusnu maabin

جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور عمل نیک کئے ان کے لیے خوشحالی اور عمدہ ٹھکانہ ہے

Those who have believed and done righteous deeds - a good state is theirs and a good return.

كَذَٰلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ فِىٓ أُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهَآ أُمَمٌ لِّتَتْلُوَا۟ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّى لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ ﴿٣٠﴾

Kathalika arsalnaka fee ommatin qad khalat min qabliha omamun litatluwa AAalayhimu allathee awhayna ilayka wahum yakfuroona bialrrahmani qul huwa rabbee la ilaha illa huwa AAalayhi tawakkaltu wailayhi matabi

(جس طرح ہم اور پیغمبر بھیجتے رہے ہیں) اسی طرح (اے محمدﷺ) ہم نے تم کو اس امت میں جس سے پہلے بہت سی امتیں گزر چکی ہیں بھیجا ہے تاکہ تم ان کو وہ (کتاب) جو ہم نے تمہاری طرف بھیجی ہے پڑھ کر سنا دو اور یہ لوگ رحمٰن کو نہیں مانتے۔ کہہ دو وہی تو میرا پروردگار ہے اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ میں اسی پر بھروسہ رکھتا ہوں اور اسی کی طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں

Thus have We sent you to a community before which [other] communities have passed on so you might recite to them that which We revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Merciful. Say, "He is my Lord; there is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return."

وَلَوْ أَنَّ قُرْءَانًا سُيِّرَتْ بِهِ ٱلْجِبَالُ أَوْ قُطِّعَتْ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَوْ كُلِّمَ بِهِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بَل لِّلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ جَمِيعًا أَفَلَمْ يَا۟يْـَٔسِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ لَهَدَى ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ تُصِيبُهُم بِمَا صَنَعُوا۟ قَارِعَةٌ أَوْ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبًا مِّن دَارِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ وَعْدُ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ ﴿٣١﴾

Walaw anna quranan suyyirat bihi aljibalu aw quttiAAat bihi alardu aw kullima bihi almawta bal lillahi alamru jameeAAan afalam yayasi allatheena amanoo an law yashao Allahu lahada alnnasa jameeAAan wala yazalu allatheena kafaroo tuseebuhum bima sanaAAoo qariAAatun aw tahullu qareeban min darihim hatta yatiya waAAdu Allahi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAada

اور اگر کوئی قرآن ایسا ہوتا کہ اس (کی تاثیر) سے پہاڑ چل پڑتے یا زمین پھٹ جاتی یا مردوں سے کلام کرسکتے۔ (تو یہی قرآن ان اوصاف سے متصف ہوتا مگر) بات یہ ہے کہ سب باتیں خدا کے اختیار میں ہیں تو کیا مومنوں کو اس سے اطمینان نہیں ہوا کہ اگر خدا چاہتا تو سب لوگوں کو ہدایت کے رستے پر چلا دیتا۔ اور کافروں پر ہمیشہ ان کے اعمال کے بدلے بلا آتی رہے گی یا ان کے مکانات کے قریب نازل ہوتی رہے گی یہاں تک کہ خدا کا وعدہ آپہنچے۔ بےشک خدا وعدہ خلاف نہیں کرتا

And if there was any qur'an by which the mountains would be removed or the earth would be broken apart or the dead would be made to speak, [it would be this Qur'an], but to Allah belongs the affair entirely. Then have those who believed not accepted that had Allah willed, He would have guided the people, all of them? And those who disbelieve do not cease to be struck, for what they have done, by calamity - or it will descend near their home - until there comes the promise of Allah. Indeed, Allah does not fail in [His] promise.

وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ ﴿٣٢﴾

Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika faamlaytu lillatheena kafaroo thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi

اور تم سے پہلے بھی رسولوں کے ساتھ تمسخر ہوتے رہے ہیں تو ہم نے کافروں کو مہلت دی پھر پکڑ لیا۔ سو (دیکھ لو کہ) ہمارا عذاب کیسا تھا

And already were [other] messengers ridiculed before you, and I extended the time of those who disbelieved; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.

أَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَآئِمٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ قُلْ سَمُّوهُمْ أَمْ تُنَبِّـُٔونَهُۥ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَم بِظَٰهِرٍ مِّنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بَلْ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مَكْرُهُمْ وَصُدُّوا۟ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ ﴿٣٣﴾

Afaman huwa qaimun AAala kulli nafsin bima kasabat wajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa qul sammoohum am tunabbioonahu bima la yaAAlamu fee alardi am bi<i>th</i>ahirin mina alqawli bal zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo makruhum wasuddoo AAani alssabeeli waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin

تو کیا جو (خدا) ہر متنفس کے اعمال کا نگراں (ونگہباں) ہے (وہ بتوں کی طرح بےعلم وبےخبر ہوسکتا ہے) اور ان لوگوں نے خدا کے شریک مقرر کر رکھے ہیں۔ ان سے کہو کہ (ذرا) ان کے نام تو لو۔ کیا تم اسے ایسی چیزیں بتاتے ہو جس کو وہ زمین میں (کہیں بھی) معلوم نہیں کرتا یا (محض) ظاہری (باطل اور جھوٹی) بات کی (تقلید کرتے ہو) اصل یہ ہے کہ کافروں کو ان کے فریب خوبصورت معلوم ہوتے ہیں۔ اور وہ (ہدایت کے) رستے سے روک لیے گئے ہیں۔ اور جسے خدا گمراہ کرے اسے کوئی ہدایت کرنے والا نہیں

Then is He who is a maintainer of every soul, [knowing] what it has earned, [like any other]? But to Allah they have attributed partners. Say, "Name them. Or do you inform Him of that which He knows not upon the earth or of what is apparent of speech?" Rather, their [own] plan has been made attractive to those who disbelieve, and they have been averted from the way. And whomever Allah leaves astray - there will be for him no guide.

لَّهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ وَمَا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ ﴿٣٤﴾

Lahum AAathabun fee alhayati alddunya walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaqqu wama lahum mina Allahi min waqin

ان کو دنیا کی زندگی میں بھی عذاب ہے اور آخرت کا عذاب تو بہت ہی سخت ہے۔ اور ان کو خدا (کے عذاب سے) کوئی بھی بچانے والا نہیں

For them will be punishment in the life of [this] world, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe. And they will not have from Allah any protector.

مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ أُكُلُهَا دَآئِمٌ وَظِلُّهَا تِلْكَ عُقْبَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّعُقْبَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٱلنَّارُ ﴿٣٥﴾

Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona tajree min tahtiha alanharu okuluha daimun wa<i>th</i>illuha tilka AAuqba allatheena ittaqaw waAAuqba alkafireena alnnaru

جس باغ کا متقیوں سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے اس کے اوصاف یہ ہیں کہ اس کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں۔ اس کے پھل ہمیشہ (قائم رہنے والے) ہیں اور اس کے سائے بھی۔ یہ ان لوگوں کا انجام ہے جو متقی ہیں۔ اور کافروں کا انجام دوزخ ہے

The example of Paradise, which the righteous have been promised, is [that] beneath it rivers flow. Its fruit is lasting, and its shade. That is the consequence for the righteous, and the consequence for the disbelievers is the Fire.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ مَن يُنكِرُ بَعْضَهُۥ قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَلَآ أُشْرِكَ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُوا۟ وَإِلَيْهِ مَـَٔابِ ﴿٣٦﴾

Waallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yafrahoona bima onzila ilayka wamina alahzabi man yunkiru baAAdahu qul innama omirtu an aAAbuda Allaha wala oshrika bihi ilayhi adAAoo wailayhi maabi

اور جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ اس (کتاب) سے جو تم پر نازل ہوئی ہے خوش ہوتے ہیں اور بعض فرقے اس کی بعض باتیں نہیں بھی مانتے۔ کہہ دو کہ مجھ کو یہی حکم ہوا ہے کہ خدا ہی کی عبادت کروں اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ بناؤں۔ میں اسی کی طرف بلاتا ہوں اور اسی کی طرف مجھے لوٹنا ہے

And [the believers among] those to whom We have given the [previous] Scripture rejoice at what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], but among the [opposing] factions are those who deny part of it. Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allah and not associate [anything] with Him. To Him I invite, and to Him is my return."

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ ﴿٣٧﴾

Wakathalika anzalnahu hukman AAarabiyyan walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda ma jaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin wala waqin

اور اسی طرح ہم نے اس قرآن کو عربی زبان کا فرمان نازل کیا ہے۔ اور اگر تم علم (ودانش) آنے کے بعد ان لوگوں کی خواہشوں کے پیچھے چلو گے تو خدا کے سامنے کوئی نہ تمہارا مددگار ہوگا اور نہ کوئی بچانے والا

And thus We have revealed it as an Arabic legislation. And if you should follow their inclinations after what has come to you of knowledge, you would not have against Allah any ally or any protector.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِّن قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ لِكُلِّ أَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ ﴿٣٨﴾

Walaqad arsalna rusulan min qablika wajaAAalna lahum azwajan wathurriyyatan wama kana lirasoolin an yatiya biayatin illa biithni Allahi likulli ajalin kitabun

اور (اے محمدﷺ) ہم نے تم سے پہلے بھی پیغمبر بھیجے تھے۔ اور ان کو بیبیاں اور اولاد بھی دی تھی ۔اور کسی پیغمبر کے اختیار کی بات نہ تھی کہ خدا کے حکم کے بغیر کوئی نشانی لائے۔ ہر (حکم) قضا (کتاب میں) مرقوم ہے

And We have already sent messengers before you and assigned to them wives and descendants. And it was not for a messenger to come with a sign except by permission of Allah. For every term is a decree.

يَمْحُوا۟ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِندَهُۥٓ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ﴿٣٩﴾

Yamhoo Allahu ma yashao wayuthbitu waAAindahu ommu alkitabi

خدا جس کو چاہتا ہے مٹا دیتا ہے اور (جس کو چاہتا ہے) قائم رکھتا ہے اور اسی کے پاس اصل کتاب ہے

Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.

وَإِن مَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَعَلَيْنَا ٱلْحِسَابُ ﴿٤٠﴾

Wain ma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAAalayna alhisabu

اور اگر ہم کوئی عذاب جس کا ان لوگوں سے وعدہ کرتے ہیں تمہیں دکھائیں (یعنی تمہارے روبرو ان پر نازل کریں) یا تمہاری مدت حیات پوری کر دیں (یعنی تمہارے انتقال کے بعد عذاب بھیجیں) تو تمہارا کام (ہمارے احکام کا) پہنچا دینا ہے اور ہمارا کام حساب لینا ہے

And whether We show you part of what We promise them or take you in death, upon you is only the [duty of] notification, and upon Us is the account.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا نَأْتِى ٱلْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا وَٱللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ لَا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِۦ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ﴿٤١﴾

Awalam yaraw anna natee alarda nanqusuha min atrafiha waAllahu yahkumu la muAAaqqiba lihukmihi wahuwa sareeAAu alhisabi

کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ ہم زمین کو اس کے کناروں سے گھٹاتے چلے آتے ہیں۔ اور خدا (جیسا چاہتا ہے) حکم کرتا ہے کوئی اس کے حکم کا رد کرنے والا نہیں۔ اور وہ جلد حساب لینے والا ہے

Have they not seen that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? And Allah decides; there is no adjuster of His decision. And He is swift in account.

وَقَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلْكُفَّٰرُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ ﴿٤٢﴾

Waqad makara allatheena min qablihim falillahi almakru jameeAAan yaAAlamu ma taksibu kullu nafsin wasayaAAlamu alkuffaru liman AAuqba alddari

جو لوگ ان سے پہلے تھے وہ بھی (بہتری) چالیں چلتے رہے ہیں سو چال تو سب الله ہی کی ہے ہر متنفس جو کچھ کر رہا ہے وہ اسے جانتا ہے۔ اور کافر جلد معلوم کریں گے کہ عاقبت کا گھر (یعنی انجام محمود) کس کے لیے ہے

And those before them had plotted, but to Allah belongs the plan entirely. He knows what every soul earns, and the disbelievers will know for whom is the final home.

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ﴿٤٣﴾

Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lasta mursalan qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum waman AAindahu AAilmu alkitabi

اور کافر لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ تم (خدا کے) رسول نہیں ہو۔ کہہ دو کہ میرے اور تمہارے درمیان خدا اور وہ شخص جس کے پاس کتاب (آسمانی) کا علم ہے گواہ کافی ہیں

And those who have disbelieved say, "You are not a messenger." Say, [O Muhammad], "Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and [the witness of] whoever has knowledge of the Scripture."

الٓر كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ ٱلنَّاسَ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ ﴿١﴾

Aliflamra kitabun anzalnahu ilayka litukhrija alnnasa mina al<i>thth</i>ulumati ila alnnoori biithni rabbihim ila sirati alAAazeezi alhameedi

الٓرٰ۔ (یہ) ایک (پُرنور) کتاب (ہے) اس کو ہم نے تم پر اس لیے نازل کیا ہے کہ لوگوں کو اندھیرے سے نکال کر روشنی کی طرف لے جاؤ (یعنی) ان کے پروردگار کے حکم سے غالب اور قابل تعریف (خدا) کے رستے کی طرف

Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy -

ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ ﴿٢﴾

Allahi allathee lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wawaylun lilkafireena min AAathabin shadeedin

وہ خدا کہ جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے سب اسی کا ہے۔ اور کافروں کے لیے عذاب سخت (کی وجہ) سے خرابی ہے

Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment

ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ ﴿٣﴾

Allatheena yastahibboona alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan olaika fee dalalin baAAeedin

جو آخرت کی نسبت دنیا کو پسند کرتے اور (لوگوں کو) خدا کے رستے سے روکتے اور اس میں کجی چاہتے ہیں۔ یہ لوگ پرلے سرے کی گمراہی میں ہیں

The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (seem) deviant. Those are in extreme error.

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِۦ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ فَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿٤﴾

Wama arsalna min rasoolin illa bilisani qawmihi liyubayyina lahum fayudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

اور ہم نے کوئی پیغمبر نہیں بھیجا مگر اپنی قوم کی زبان بولتا تھا تاکہ انہیں (احکام خدا) کھول کھول کر بتا دے۔ پھر خدا جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت دیتا ہے اور وہ غالب (اور) حکمت والا ہے

And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّىٰمِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ ﴿٥﴾

Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina an akhrij qawmaka mina al<i>thth</i>ulumati ila alnnoori wathakkirhum biayyami Allahi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin

اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو اپنی نشانیاں دے کر بھیجا کہ اپنی قوم کو تاریکی سے نکال کر روشنی میں لے جاؤ۔ اور ان کو خدا کے دن یاد دلاؤ اس میں ان لوگوں کے لیے جو صابر وشاکر ہیں (قدرت خدا کی) نشانیاں ہیں

And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days of Allah." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنجَىٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ ﴿٦﴾

Waith qala moosa liqawmihi othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith anjakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi wayuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAa<i>th</i>eemun

اور جب موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ خدا نے جو تم پر مہربانیاں کی ہیں ان کو یاد کرو جب کہ تم کو فرعون کی قوم (کے ہاتھ) سے مخلصی دی وہ لوگ تمہیں بُرے عذاب دیتے تھے اور تمہارے بیٹوں کو مار ڈالتے تھے اور عورت ذات یعنی تمہاری لڑکیوں کو زندہ رہنے دیتے تھے اور اس میں تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے بڑی (سخت) آزمائش تھی

And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses said to His people, "Remember the favor of Allah upon you when He saved you from the people of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst torment and were slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِى لَشَدِيدٌ ﴿٧﴾

Waith taaththana rabbukum lain shakartum laazeedannakum walain kafartum inna AAathabee lashadeedun

اور جب تمہارے پروردگار نے (تم کو) آگاہ کیا کہ اگر شکر کرو گے تو میں تمہیں زیادہ دوں گا اور اگر ناشکری کرو گے تو (یاد رکھو کہ) میرا عذاب بھی سخت ہے

And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.' "

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِن تَكْفُرُوٓا۟ أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ ﴿٨﴾

Waqala moosa in takfuroo antum waman fee alardi jameeAAan fainna Allaha laghaniyyun hameedun

اور موسیٰ نے (صاف صاف) کہہ دیا کہ اگر تم اور جتنے اور لوگ زمین میں ہیں سب کے سب ناشکری کرو تو خدا بھی بےنیاز (اور) قابل تعریف ہے

And Moses said, "If you should disbelieve, you and whoever is on the earth entirely - indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy."

أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرَدُّوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِىٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ ﴿٩﴾

Alam yatikum nabao allatheena min qablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheena min baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihim waqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltum bihi wainna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonana ilayhi mureebun

بھلا تم کو ان لوگوں (کے حالات) کی خبر نہیں پہنچی جو تم سے پہلے تھے (یعنی) نوح اور عاد اور ثمود کی قوم۔ اور جو ان کے بعد تھے۔ جن کا علم خدا کے سوا کسی کو نہیں (جب) ان کے پاس پیغمبر نشانیاں لے کر آئے تو انہوں نے اپنے ہاتھ ان کے مونہوں پر رکھ دیئے (کہ خاموش رہو) اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم تو تمہاری رسالت کو تسلیم نہیں کرتے اور جس چیز کی طرف تم ہمیں بلاتے ہو ہم اس سے قوی شک میں ہیں

Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud and those after them? No one knows them but Allah. Their messengers brought them clear proofs, but they returned their hands to their mouths and said, "Indeed, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."

قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِى ٱللَّهِ شَكٌّ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى قَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿١٠﴾

Qalat rusuluhum afee Allahi shakkun fatiri alssamawati waalardi yadAAookum liyaghfira lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qaloo in antum illa basharun mithluna tureedoona an tasuddoona AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatoona bisultanin mubeenin

ان کے پیغمبروں نے کہا کیا (تم کو) خدا (کے بارے) میں شک ہے جو آسمانوں اور زمین کا پیدا کرنے والا ہے۔ وہ تمہیں اس لیے بلاتا ہے کہ تمہارے گناہ بخشے اور (فائدہ پہنچانے کے لیے) ایک مدت مقرر تک تم کو مہلت دے۔ وہ بولے کہ تم تو ہمارے ہی جیسے آدمی ہو۔ تمہارا یہ منشاء ہے کہ جن چیزوں کو ہمارے بڑے پوجتے رہے ہیں ان (کے پوجنے) سے ہم کو بند کر دو تو (اچھا) کوئی کھلی دلیل لاؤ (یعنی معجزہ دکھاؤ)

Their messengers said, "Can there be doubt about Allah, Creator of the heavens and earth? He invites you that He may forgive you of your sins, and He delays your death for a specified term." They said, "You are not but men like us who wish to avert us from what our fathers were worshipping. So bring us a clear authority."

قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١١﴾

Qalat lahum rusuluhum in nahnu illa basharun mithlukum walakinna Allaha yamunnu AAala man yashao min AAibadihi wama kana lana an natiyakum bisultanin illa biithni Allahi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona

پیغمبروں نے ان سے کہا کہ ہاں ہم تمہارے ہی جیسے آدمی ہیں۔ لیکن خدا اپنے بندوں میں سے جس کو چاہتا ہے (نبوت کا) احسان کرتا ہے اور ہمارے اختیار کی بات نہیں کہ ہم خدا کے حکم کے بغیر تم کو (تمہاری فرمائش کے مطابق) معجزہ دکھائیں اور خدا ہی پر مومنوں کو بھروسہ رکھنا چاہیئے

Their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but Allah confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.

وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنَا سُبُلَنَا وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَآ ءَاذَيْتُمُونَا وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ﴿١٢﴾

Wama lana alla natawakkala AAala Allahi waqad hadana subulana walanasbiranna AAala ma athaytumoona waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona

اور ہم کیونکر خدا پر بھروسہ نہ رکھیں حالانکہ اس نے ہم کو ہمارے (دین کے سیدھے) رستے بتائے ہیں۔ جو تکلیفیں تم ہم کو دیتے ہو اس پر صبر کریں گے۔ اور اہل توکل کو خدا ہی پر بھروسہ رکھنا چاہیئے

And why should we not rely upon Allah while He has guided us to our [good] ways. And we will surely be patient against whatever harm you should cause us. And upon Allah let those who would rely [indeed] rely."

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٣﴾

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lirusulihim lanukhrijannakum min ardina aw lataAAoodunna fee millatina faawha ilayhim rabbuhum lanuhlikanna al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور جو کافر تھے انہوں نے اپنے پیغمبروں سے کہا کہ (یا تو) ہم تم کو اپنے ملک سے باہر نکال دیں گے یا ہمارے مذہب میں داخل ہو جاؤ۔ تو پروردگار نے ان کی طرف وحی بھیجی کہ ہم ظالموں کو ہلاک کر دیں گے

And those who disbelieved said to their messengers, "We will surely drive you out of our land, or you must return to our religion." So their Lord inspired to them, "We will surely destroy the wrongdoers.

وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِى وَخَافَ وَعِيدِ ﴿١٤﴾

Walanuskinannakumu alarda min baAAdihim thalika liman khafa maqamee wakhafa waAAeedi

اور ان کے بعد تم کو اس زمین میں آباد کریں گے۔ یہ اس شخص کے لیے ہے جو (قیامت کے روز) میرے سامنے کھڑے ہونے سے ڈرے اور میرے عذاب سے خوف کرے

And We will surely cause you to dwell in the land after them. That is for he who fears My position and fears My threat."

وَٱسْتَفْتَحُوا۟ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ ﴿١٥﴾

Waistaftahoo wakhaba kullu jabbarin AAaneedin

اور پیغمبروں نے (خدا سے اپنی) فتح چاہی تو ہر سرکش ضدی نامراد رہ گیا

And they requested victory from Allah, and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant.

مِّن وَرَآئِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقَىٰ مِن مَّآءٍ صَدِيدٍ ﴿١٦﴾

Min waraihi jahannamu wayusqa min main sadeedin

اس کے پیچھے دوزخ ہے اور اسے پیپ کا پانی پلایا جائے گا

Before him is Hell, and he will be given a drink of purulent water.

يَتَجَرَّعُهُۥ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُۥ وَيَأْتِيهِ ٱلْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِۦ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌ ﴿١٧﴾

YatajarraAAuhu wala yakadu yuseeghuhu wayateehi almawtu min kulli makanin wama huwa bimayyitin wamin waraihi AAathabun ghalee<i>th</i>un

وہ اس کو گھونٹ گھونٹ پیئے گا اور گلے سے نہیں اتار سکے گا اور ہر طرف سے اسے موت آرہی ہوگی مگر وہ مرنے میں نہیں آئے گا۔ اور اس کے پیچھے سخت عذاب ہوگا

He will gulp it but will hardly [be able to] swallow it. And death will come to him from everywhere, but he is not to die. And before him is a massive punishment.

مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ ٱشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ ﴿١٨﴾

Mathalu allatheena kafaroo birabbihim aAAmaluhum karamadin ishtaddat bihi alrreehu fee yawmin AAasifin la yaqdiroona mimma kasaboo AAala shayin thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu

جن لوگوں نے اپنے پروردگار سے کفر کیا ان کے اعمال کی مثال راکھ کی سی ہے کہ آندھی کے دن اس پر زور کی ہوا چلے (اور) اسے اڑا لے جائے (اس طرح) جو کام وہ کرتے رہے ان پر ان کو کچھ دسترس نہ ہوگی۔ یہی تو پرلے سرے کی گمراہی ہے

The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ﴿١٩﴾

Alam tara anna Allaha khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi in yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ خدا نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو تدبیر سے پیدا کیا ہے۔ اگر وہ چاہے تو تم کو نابود کر دے اور (تمہاری جگہ) نئی مخلوق پیدا کر دے

Have you not seen that Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth? If He wills, He can do away with you and produce a new creation.

وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ ﴿٢٠﴾

Wama thalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin

اور یہ خدا کو کچھ بھی مشکل نہیں

And that is not difficult for Allah.

وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ لَهَدَيْنَٰكُمْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَآ أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ ﴿٢١﴾

Wabarazoo lillahi jameeAAan faqala aldduAAafao lillatheena istakbaroo inna kunna lakum tabaAAan fahal antum mughnoona AAanna min AAathabi Allahi min shayin qaloo law hadana Allahu lahadaynakum sawaon AAalayna ajaziAAna am sabarna ma lana min maheesin

اور (قیامت کے دن) سب لوگ خدا کے سامنے کھڑے ہوں گے تو ضعیف (العقل متبع اپنے رؤسائے) متکبرین سے کہیں گے کہ ہم تو تمہارے پیرو تھے۔ کیا تم خدا کا کچھ عذاب ہم پر سے دفع کرسکتے ہو۔ وہ کہیں گے کہ اگر خدا ہم کو ہدایت کرتا تو ہم تم کو ہدایت کرتے۔ اب ہم گھبرائیں یا ضد کریں ہمارے حق میں برابر ہے۔ کوئی جگہ (گریز اور) رہائی کی ہمارے لیے نہیں ہے

And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."

وَقَالَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِىَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّآ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَٱسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِى فَلَا تَلُومُونِى وَلُومُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُم مَّآ أَنَا۠ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُصْرِخِىَّ إِنِّى كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿٢٢﴾

Waqala alshshaytanu lamma qudiya alamru inna Allaha waAAadakum waAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kana liya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum faistajabtum lee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma ana bimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya innee kafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna al<i>thth</i>alimeena lahum AAathabun aleemun

جب (حساب کتاب کا) کام فیصلہ ہوچکے گا تو شیطان کہے گا (جو) وعدہ خدا نے تم سے کیا تھا (وہ تو) سچا (تھا) اور (جو) وعدہ میں نے تم سے کیا تھا وہ جھوٹا تھا۔ اور میرا تم پر کسی طرح کا زور نہیں تھا۔ ہاں میں نے تم کو (گمراہی اور باطل کی طرف) بلایا تو تم نے (جلدی سے اور بےدلیل) میرا کہا مان لیا۔ تو (آج) مجھے ملامت نہ کرو۔ اپنے آپ ہی کو ملامت کرو۔ نہ میں تمہاری فریاد رسی کرسکتا ہوں اور نہ تم میری فریاد رسی کرسکتے ہو۔ میں اس بات سے انکار کرتا ہوں کہ تم پہلے مجھے شریک بناتے تھے۔ بےشک جو ظالم ہیں ان کے لیے درد دینے والا عذاب ہے

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."

وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَٰمٌ ﴿٢٣﴾

Waodkhila allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha biithni rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feeha salamun

اور جو ایمان لائے اور عمل نیک کیے وہ بہشتوں میں داخل کیے جائیں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے ہمیشہ ان میں رہیں گے۔ وہاں ان کی صاحب سلامت سلام ہوگا

And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace!"

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ﴿٢٤﴾

Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahu mathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatin asluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssamai

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ خدا نے پاک بات کی کیسی مثال بیان فرمائی ہے (وہ ایسی ہے) جیسے پاکیزہ درخت جس کی جڑ مضبوط (یعنی زمین کو پکڑے ہوئے) ہو اور شاخیں آسمان میں

Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?

تُؤْتِىٓ أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍۭ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا وَيَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾

Tutee okulaha kulla heenin biithni rabbiha wayadribu Allahu alamthala lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے ہر وقت پھل لاتا (اور میوے دیتا) ہو۔ اور خدا لوگوں کے لیے مثالیں بیان فرماتا ہے تاکہ وہ نصیحت پکڑیں

It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord. And Allah presents examples for the people that perhaps they will be reminded.

وَمَثَلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ ٱجْتُثَّتْ مِن فَوْقِ ٱلْأَرْضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٍ ﴿٢٦﴾

Wamathalu kalimatin khabeethatin kashajaratin khabeethatin ijtuththat min fawqi alardi ma laha min qararin

اور ناپاک بات کی مثال ناپاک درخت کی سی ہے (نہ جڑ مستحکم نہ شاخیں بلند) زمین کے اوپر ہی سے اکھیڑ کر پھینک دیا جائے گا اس کو ذرا بھی قرار (وثبات) نہیں

And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability.

يُثَبِّتُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْقَوْلِ ٱلثَّابِتِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ وَيَفْعَلُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ ﴿٢٧﴾

Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoo bialqawli alththabiti fee alhayati alddunya wafee alakhirati wayudillu Allahu al<i>thth</i>alimeena wayafAAalu Allahu ma yashao

خدا مومنوں (کے دلوں) کو (صحیح اور) پکی بات سے دنیا کی زندگی میں بھی مضبوط رکھتا ہے اور آخرت میں بھی (رکھے گا) اور خدا بےانصافوں کو گمراہ کر دیتا ہے اور خدا جو چاہتا ہے کرتا ہے

Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ ٱلْبَوَارِ ﴿٢٨﴾

Alam tara ila allatheena baddaloo niAAmata Allahi kufran waahalloo qawmahum dara albawari

کیا تم نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جنہوں نے خدا کے احسان کو ناشکری سے بدل دیا۔ اور اپنی قوم کو تباہی کے گھر میں اتارا

Have you not considered those who exchanged the favor of Allah for disbelief and settled their people [in] the home of ruin?

جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا وَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ ﴿٢٩﴾

Jahannama yaslawnaha wabisa alqararu

(وہ گھر) دوزخ ہے۔ (سب ناشکرے) اس میں داخل ہوں گے۔ اور وہ برا ٹھکانہ ہے

[It is] Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the settlement.

وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ قُلْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ ﴿٣٠﴾

WajaAAaloo lillahi andadan liyudilloo AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAAoo fainna maseerakum ila alnnari

اور ان لوگوں نے خدا کے شریک مقرر کئے کہ (لوگوں کو) اس کے رستے سے گمراہ کریں۔ کہہ دو کہ (چند روز) فائدے اٹھا لو آخرکار تم کو دوزخ کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے

And they have attributed to Allah equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy yourselves, for indeed, your destination is the Fire."

قُل لِّعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا بَيْعٌ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَٰلٌ ﴿٣١﴾

Qul liAAibadiya allatheena amanoo yuqeemoo alssalata wayunfiqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan min qabli an yatiya yawmun la bayAAun feehi wala khilalun

(اے پیغمبر) میرے مومن بندوں سے کہہ دو کہ نماز پڑھا کریں اور اس دن کے آنے سے پیشتر جس میں نہ (اعمال کا) سودا ہوگا اور نہ دوستی (کام آئے گی) ہمارے دیئے ہوئے مال میں سے درپردہ اور ظاہر خرچ کرتے رہیں

[O Muhammad], tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, before a Day comes in which there will be no exchange, nor any friendships.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِىَ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum wasakhkhara lakumu alfulka litajriya fee albahri biamrihi wasakhkhara lakumu alanhara

خدا ہی تو ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا اور آسمان سے مینہ برسایا پھر اس سے تمہارے کھانے کے لیے پھل پیدا کئے۔ اور کشتیوں (اور جہازوں) کو تمہارے زیر فرمان کیا تاکہ دریا (اور سمندر) میں اس کے حکم سے چلیں۔ اور نہروں کو بھی تمہارے زیر فرمان کیا

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيْنِ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Wasakhkhara lakumu alshshamsa waalqamara daibayni wasakhkhara lakumu allayla waalnnahara

اور سورج اور چاند کو تمہارے لیے کام میں لگا دیا کہ دونوں (دن رات) ایک دستور پر چل رہے ہیں۔ اور رات اور دن کو بھی تمہاری خاطر کام میں لگا دیا

And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit], and subjected for you the night and the day.

وَءَاتَىٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَظَلُومٌ كَفَّارٌ ﴿٣٤﴾

Waatakum min kulli ma saaltumoohu wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna alinsana la<i>th</i>aloomun kaffarun

اور جو کچھ تم نے مانگا سب میں سے تم کو عنایت کیا۔ اور اگر خدا کے احسان گننے لگو تو شمار نہ کرسکو۔ (مگر لوگ نعمتوں کا شکر نہیں کرتے) کچھ شک نہیں کہ انسان بڑا بےانصاف اور ناشکرا ہے

And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدَ ءَامِنًا وَٱجْنُبْنِى وَبَنِىَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ ٱلْأَصْنَامَ ﴿٣٥﴾

Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi ijAAal hatha albalada aminan waojnubnee wabaniyya an naAAbuda alasnama

اور جب ابراہیم نے دعا کی کہ میرے پروردگار اس شہر کو (لوگوں کے لیے) امن کی جگہ بنا دے۔ اور مجھے اور میری اولاد کو اس بات سے کہ بتوں کی پرستش کرنے لگیں بچائے رکھ

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.

رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَمَن تَبِعَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّى وَمَنْ عَصَانِى فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٣٦﴾

Rabbi innahunna adlalna katheeran mina alnnasi faman tabiAAanee fainnahu minnee waman AAasanee fainnaka ghafoorun raheemun

اے پروردگار انہوں نے بہت سے لوگوں کو گمراہ کیا ہے۔ سو جس شخص نے میرا کہا مانا وہ میرا ہے۔ اور جس نے میری نافرمانی کی تو تُو بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful.

رَّبَّنَآ إِنِّىٓ أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِى بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِى زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ ٱلْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱجْعَلْ أَفْـِٔدَةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ تَهْوِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ وَٱرْزُقْهُم مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿٣٧﴾

Rabbana innee askantu min thurriyyatee biwadin ghayri thee zarAAin AAinda baytika almuharrami rabbana liyuqeemoo alssalata faijAAal afidatan mina alnnasi tahwee ilayhim waorzuqhum mina alththamarati laAAallahum yashkuroona

اے پروردگار میں نے اپنی اولاد کو میدان (مکہ) میں جہاں کھیتی نہیں تیرے عزت (وادب) والے گھر کے پاس لابسائی ہے۔ اے پروردگار تاکہ یہ نماز پڑھیں تو لوگوں کے دلوں کو ایسا کر دے کہ ان کی طرف جھکے رہیں اور ان کو میوؤں سے روزی دے تاکہ (تیرا) شکر کریں

Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful.

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِى وَمَا نُعْلِنُ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ﴿٣٨﴾

Rabbana innaka taAAlamu ma nukhfee wama nuAAlinu wama yakhfa AAala Allahi min shayin fee alardi wala fee alssamai

اے پروردگار جو بات ہم چھپاتے اور جو ظاہر کرتے ہیں تو سب جانتا ہے۔ اور خدا سے کوئی چیز مخفی نہیں (نہ) زمین میں نہ آسمان میں

Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare, and nothing is hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven.

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى وَهَبَ لِى عَلَى ٱلْكِبَرِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَسَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ ﴿٣٩﴾

Alhamdu lillahi allathee wahaba lee AAala alkibari ismaAAeela waishaqa inna rabbee lasameeAAu aldduAAai

خدا کا شکر ہے جس نے مجھ کو بڑی عمر میں اسماعیل اور اسحاق بخشے۔ بےشک میرا پروردگار سننے والا ہے

Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication.

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ ﴿٤٠﴾

Rabbi ijAAalnee muqeema alssalati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal duAAai

اے پروردگار مجھ کو (ایسی توفیق عنایت) کر کہ نماز پڑھتا رہوں اور میری اولاد کو بھی (یہ توفیق بخش) اے پروردگار میری دعا قبول فرما

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْحِسَابُ ﴿٤١﴾

Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walilmumineena yawma yaqoomu alhisabu

اے پروردگار حساب (کتاب) کے دن مجھ کو اور میرے ماں باپ کو اور مومنوں کو مغفرت کیجیو

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established."

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ ﴿٤٢﴾

Wala tahsabanna Allaha ghafilan AAamma yaAAmalu al<i>thth</i>alimoona innama yuakhkhiruhum liyawmin tashkhasu feehi alabsaru

اور (مومنو) مت خیال کرنا کہ یہ ظالم جو عمل کر رہے ہیں خدا ان سے بےخبر ہے۔ وہ ان کو اس دن تک مہلت دے رہا ہے جب کہ (دہشت کے سبب) آنکھیں کھلی کی کھلی رہ جائیں گی

And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror].

مُهْطِعِينَ مُقْنِعِى رُءُوسِهِمْ لَا يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ وَأَفْـِٔدَتُهُمْ هَوَآءٌ ﴿٤٣﴾

MuhtiAAeena muqniAAee ruoosihim la yartaddu ilayhim tarfuhum waafidatuhum hawaon

(اور لوگ) سر اٹھائے ہوئے (میدان قیامت کی طرف) دوڑ رہے ہوں گے ان کی نگاہیں ان کی طرف لوٹ نہ سکیں گی اور ان کے دل (مارے خوف کے) ہوا ہو رہے ہوں گے

Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them, and their hearts are void.

وَأَنذِرِ ٱلنَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَخِّرْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُوٓا۟ أَقْسَمْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٍ ﴿٤٤﴾

Waanthiri alnnasa yawma yateehimu alAAathabu fayaqoolu allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo rabbana akhkhirna ila ajalin qareebin nujib daAAwataka wanattabiAAi alrrusula awalam takoonoo aqsamtum min qablu ma lakum min zawalin

اور لوگوں کو اس دن سے آگاہ کردو جب ان پر عذاب آجائے گا تب ظالم لوگ کہیں گے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار ہمیں تھوڑی سی مدت مہلت عطا کر۔ تاکہ تیری دعوت (توحید) قبول کریں اور (تیرے) پیغمبروں کے پیچھے چلیں (تو جواب ملے گا) کیا تم پہلے قسمیں نہیں کھایا کرتے تھے کہ تم کو (اس حال سے جس میں تم ہو) زوال (اور قیامت کو حساب اعمال) نہیں ہوگا

And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?

وَسَكَنتُمْ فِى مَسَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ ﴿٤٥﴾

Wasakantum fee masakini allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo anfusahum watabayyana lakum kayfa faAAalna bihim wadarabna lakumu alamthala

اور جو لوگ اپنے آپ پر ظلم کرتے تھے تم ان کے مکانوں میں رہتے تھے اور تم پر ظاہر ہوچکا تھا کہ ہم نے ان لوگوں کے ساتھ کس طرح (کا معاملہ) کیا تھا اور تمہارے (سمجھانے) کے لیے مثالیں بیان کر دی تھیں

And you lived among the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it had become clear to you how We dealt with them. And We presented for you [many] examples."

وَقَدْ مَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ مَكْرُهُمْ وَإِن كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ ٱلْجِبَالُ ﴿٤٦﴾

Waqad makaroo makrahum waAAinda Allahi makruhum wain kana makruhum litazoola minhu aljibalu

اور انہوں نے (بڑی بڑی) تدبیریں کیں اور ان کی (سب) تدبیریں خدا کے ہاں (لکھی ہوئی) ہیں گو وہ تدبیریں ایسی (غضب کی) تھیں کہ ان سے پہاڑ بھی ٹل جائیں

And they had planned their plan, but with Allah is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains.

فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهِۦ رُسُلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ ﴿٤٧﴾

Fala tahsabanna Allaha mukhlifa waAAdihi rusulahu inna Allaha AAazeezun thoo intiqamin

تو ایسا خیال نہ کرنا کہ خدا نے جو اپنے پیغمبروں سے وعدہ کیا ہے اس کے خلاف کرے گا بےشک خدا زبردست (اور) بدلہ لینے والا ہے

So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.

يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ ٱلْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلْوَٰحِدِ ٱلْقَهَّارِ ﴿٤٨﴾

Yawma tubaddalu alardu ghayra alardi waalssamawatu wabarazoo lillahi alwahidi alqahhari

جس دن یہ زمین دوسری زمین سے بدل دی جائے گی اور آسمان بھی (بدل دیئے جائیں گے) اور سب لوگ خدائے یگانہ وزبردست کے سامنے نکل کھڑے ہوں گے

[It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing.

وَتَرَى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِى ٱلْأَصْفَادِ ﴿٤٩﴾

Watara almujrimeena yawmaithin muqarraneena fee alasfadi

اور اس دن تم گنہگاروں کو دیکھو گے کہ زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے ہیں

And you will see the criminals that Day bound together in shackles,

سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٍ وَتَغْشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ ﴿٥٠﴾

Sarabeeluhum min qatranin wataghsha wujoohahumu alnnaru

ان کے کرتے گندھک کے ہوں گے اور ان کے مونہوں کو آگ لپیٹ رہی ہوگی

Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire.

لِيَجْزِىَ ٱللَّهُ كُلَّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ﴿٥١﴾

Liyajziya Allahu kulla nafsin ma kasabat inna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

یہ اس لیے کہ خدا ہر شخص کو اس کے اعمال کا بدلہ دے۔ بےشک خدا جلد حساب لینے والا ہے

So that Allah will recompense every soul for what it earned. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.

هَٰذَا بَلَٰغٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَلِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ وَلِيَذَّكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ ﴿٥٢﴾

Hatha balaghun lilnnasi waliyuntharoo bihi waliyaAAlamoo annama huwa ilahun wahidun waliyaththakkara oloo alalbabi

یہ قرآن لوگوں کے نام (خدا کا پیغام) ہے تاکہ ان کو اس سے ڈرایا جائے اور تاکہ وہ جان لیں کہ وہی اکیلا معبود ہے اور تاکہ اہل عقل نصیحت پکڑیں

This [Qur'an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.
