الٓمٓصٓ ﴿١﴾

Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad.

كِتَٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِى صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٢﴾

Kitabun onzila ilayka fala yakun fee sadrika harajun minhu litunthira bihi wathikra lilmumineena

(اے محمدﷺ) یہ کتاب (جو) تم پر نازل ہوئی ہے۔ اس سے تمہیں تنگ دل نہیں ہونا چاہیئے، (یہ نازل) اس لیے (ہوئی ہے) کہ تم اس کے ذریعے سے (لوگوں) کو ڈر سناؤ اور (یہ) ایمان والوں کے لیے نصیحت ہے

[This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers.

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿٣﴾

IttabiAAoo ma onzila ilaykum min rabbikum wala tattabiAAoo min doonihi awliyaa qaleelan ma tathakkaroona

(لوگو) جو (کتاب) تم پر تمہارے پروردگار کے ہاں نازل ہوئی ہے اس کی پیروی کرو اور اس کے سوا اور رفیقوں کی پیروی نہ کرو (اور) تم کم ہی نصیحت قبول کرتے ہو

Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.

وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ ﴿٤﴾

Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknaha fajaaha basuna bayatan aw hum qailoona

اور کتنی ہی بستیاں ہیں کہ ہم نے تباہ کر ڈالیں جن پر ہمارا عذاب (یا تو رات کو) آتا تھا جبکہ وہ سوتے تھے یا (دن کو) جب وہ قیلولہ (یعنی دوپہر کو آرام) کرتے تھے

And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.

فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ إِذْ جَآءَهُم بَأْسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ﴿٥﴾

Fama kana daAAwahum ith jaahum basuna illa an qaloo inna kunna <i>th</i>alimeena

تو جس وقت ان پر عذاب آتا تھا ان کے منہ سے یہی نکلتا تھا کہ (ہائے) ہم (ہائے) ہم (اپنے اوپر) ظلم کرتے رہے

And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!"

فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿٦﴾

Falanasalanna allatheena orsila ilayhim walanasalanna almursaleena

تو جن لوگوں کی طرف پیغمبر بھیجے گئے ہم ان سے بھی پرسش کریں گے اور پیغمبروں سے بھی پوچھیں گے

Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers.

فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِم بِعِلْمٍ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ ﴿٧﴾

Falanaqussanna AAalayhim biAAilmin wama kunna ghaibeena

پھر اپنے علم سے ان کے حالات بیان کریں گے اور ہم کہیں غائب تو نہیں تھے

Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent.

وَٱلْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ﴿٨﴾

Waalwaznu yawmaithini alhaqqu faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faolaika humu almuflihoona

اور اس روز (اعمال کا) تلنا برحق ہے تو جن لوگوں کے (عملوں کے) وزن بھاری ہوں گے وہ تو نجات پانے والے ہیں

And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful.

وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿٩﴾

Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faolaika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum bima kanoo biayatina ya<i>th</i>limoona

اور جن کے وزن ہلکے ہوں گے تو یہی لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے تئیں خسارے میں ڈالا اس لیے کہ ہماری آیتوں کے بارے میں بےانصافی کرتے تھے

And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿١٠﴾

Walaqad makkannakum fee alardi wajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha qaleelan ma tashkuroona

اور ہم ہی نے زمین میں تمہارا ٹھکانہ بنایا اور اس میں تمہارے لیے سامان معشیت پیدا کئے۔ (مگر) تم کم ہی شکر کرتے ہو

And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ ﴿١١﴾

Walaqad khalaqnakum thumma sawwarnakum thumma qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa lam yakun mina alssajideena

اور ہم ہی نے تم کو (ابتدا میں مٹی سے) پیدا کیا پھر تمہاری صورت شکل بنائی پھر فرشتوں کو حکم دیا آدم کے آگے سجدہ کرو تو (سب نے) سجدہ کیا لیکن ابلیس کہ وہ سجدہ کرنے والوں میں (شامل) نہ ہوا

And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated.

قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍ ﴿١٢﴾

Qala ma manaAAaka alla tasjuda ith amartuka qala ana khayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teenin

(خدا نے) فرمایا جب میں نے تجھ کو حکم دیا تو کس چیز نے تجھے سجدہ کرنے سے باز رکھا۔ اس نے کہا کہ میں اس سے افضل ہوں۔ مجھے تو نے آگ سے پیدا کیا ہے اور اسے مٹی سے بنایا ہے

[Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."

قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ ﴿١٣﴾

Qala faihbit minha fama yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feeha faokhruj innaka mina alssaghireena

فرمایا تو (بہشت سے) اتر جا تجھے شایاں نہیں کہ یہاں غرور کرے پس نکل جا۔ تو ذلیل ہے

[Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.

قَالَ أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ﴿١٤﴾

Qala an<i>th</i>irnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona

اس نے کہا کہ مجھے اس دن تک مہلت عطا فرما جس دن لوگ (قبروں سے) اٹھائے جائیں گے

[Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."

قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ ﴿١٥﴾

Qala innaka mina almun<i>th</i>areena

فرمایا (اچھا) تجھ کو مہلت دی جاتی ہے

[Allah] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved."

قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَٰطَكَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ ﴿١٦﴾

Qala fabima aghwaytanee laaqAAudanna lahum sirataka almustaqeema

(پھر) شیطان نے کہا مجھے تو تُو نے ملعون کیا ہی ہے میں بھی تیرے سیدھے رستے پر ان (کو گمراہ کرنے) کے لیے بیٹھوں گا

[Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.

ثُمَّ لَـَٔاتِيَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَٰكِرِينَ ﴿١٧﴾

Thumma laatiyannahum min bayni aydeehim wamin khalfihim waAAan aymanihim waAAan shamailihim wala tajidu aktharahum shakireena

پھر ان کے آگے سے اور پیچھے سے دائیں سے اور بائیں سے (غرض ہر طرف سے) آؤں گا (اور ان کی راہ ماروں گا) اور تو ان میں اکثر کو شکر گزار نہیں پائے گا

Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."

قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿١٨﴾

Qala okhruj minha mathooman madhooran laman tabiAAaka minhum laamlaanna jahannama minkum ajmaAAeena

(خدا نے) فرمایا، نکل جا۔ یہاں سے پاجی۔ مردود جو لوگ ان میں سے تیری پیروی کریں گے میں (ان کو اور تجھ کو جہنم میں ڈال کر) تم سب سے جہنم کو بھر دوں گا

[Allah] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together."

وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٩﴾

Waya adamu oskun anta wazawjuka aljannata fakula min haythu shituma wala taqraba hathihi alshshajarata fatakoona mina al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور ہم نے آدم (سے کہا کہ) تم اور تمہاری بیوی بہشت میں رہو سہو اور جہاں سے چاہو (اور جو چاہو) نوش جان کرو مگر اس درخت کے پاس نہ جاؤ ورنہ گنہگار ہو جاؤ گے

And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِيُبْدِىَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ ﴿٢٠﴾

Fawaswasa lahuma alshshaytanu liyubdiya lahuma ma wooriya AAanhuma min sawatihima waqala ma nahakuma rabbukuma AAan hathihi alshshajarati illa an takoona malakayni aw takoona mina alkhalideena

تو شیطان دونوں کو بہکانے لگا تاکہ ان کی ستر کی چیزیں جو ان سے پوشیدہ تھیں کھول دے اور کہنے لگا کہ تم کو تمہارے پروردگار نے اس درخت سے صرف اس لیے منع کیا ہے کہ کہ تم فرشتے نہ بن جاؤ یا ہمیشہ جیتے نہ رہو

But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."

وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ إِنِّى لَكُمَا لَمِنَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ ﴿٢١﴾

Waqasamahuma innee lakuma lamina alnnasiheena

اور ان سے قسم کھا کر کہا میں تو تمہارا خیر خواہ ہوں

And he swore [by Allah] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors."

فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا ٱلشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَنَادَىٰهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٢٢﴾

Fadallahuma bighuroorin falamma thaqa alshshajarata badat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati wanadahuma rabbuhuma alam anhakuma AAan tilkuma alshshajarati waaqul lakuma inna alshshaytana lakuma AAaduwwun mubeenun

غرض (مردود نے) دھوکہ دے کر ان کو (معصیت کی طرف) کھینچ ہی لیا جب انہوں نے اس درخت (کے پھل) کو کھا لیا تو ان کی ستر کی چیزیں کھل گئیں اور وہ بہشت کے (درختوں کے) پتے توڑ توڑ کر اپنے اوپر چپکانے لگے اور (ستر چھپانے لگے) تب ان کے پروردگار نے ان کو پکارا کہ کیا میں نے تم کو اس درخت (کے پاس جانے) سے منع نہیں کیا تھا اور جتا نہیں دیا تھا کہ شیطان تمہارا کھلم کھلا دشمن ہے

So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"

قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Qala rabbana <i>th</i>alamna anfusana wain lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena

دونوں عرض کرنے لگے کہ پروردگار ہم نے اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کیا اور اگر تو ہمیں نہیں بخشے گا اور ہم پر رحم نہیں کرے گا تو ہم تباہ ہو جائیں گے

They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

قَالَ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ﴿٢٤﴾

Qala ihbitoo baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun walakum fee alardi mustaqarrun wamataAAun ila heenin

(خدا نے) فرمایا (تم سب بہشت سے) اتر جاؤ (اب سے) تم ایک دوسرے کے دشمن ہو اور تمہارے لیے ایک وقت (خاص) تک زمین پر ٹھکانہ اور (زندگی کا) سامان (کر دیا گیا) ہے

[Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time."

قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾

Qala feeha tahyawna wafeeha tamootoona waminha tukhrajoona

(یعنی) فرمایا کہ اسی میں تمہارا جینا ہوگا اور اسی میں مرنا اور اسی میں سے (قیامت کو زندہ کر کے) نکالے جاؤ گے

He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾

Ya banee adama qad anzalna AAalaykum libasan yuwaree sawatikum wareeshan walibasu alttaqwa thalika khayrun thalika min ayati Allahi laAAallahum yaththakkaroona

اے نبی آدم ہم نے تم پر پوشاک اتاری کہ تمہارا ستر ڈھانکے اور (تمہارے بدن کو) زینت (دے) اور (جو) پرہیزگاری کا لباس (ہے) وہ سب سے اچھا ہے۔ یہ خدا کی نشانیاں ہیں تاکہ لوگ نصحیت پکڑ یں

O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ كَمَآ أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٢٧﴾

Ya banee adama la yaftinannakumu alshshaytanu kama akhraja abawaykum mina aljannati yanziAAu AAanhuma libasahuma liyuriyahuma sawatihima innahu yarakum huwa waqabeeluhu min haythu la tarawnahum inna jaAAalna alshshayateena awliyaa lillatheena la yuminoona

اے نبی آدم (دیکھنا کہیں) شیطان تمہیں بہکا نہ دے جس طرح تمہارے ماں باپ کو (بہکا کر) بہشت سے نکلوا دیا اور ان سے ان کے کپڑے اتروا دیئے تاکہ ان کے ستر ان کو کھول کر دکھا دے۔ وہ اور اس کے بھائی تم کو ایسی جگہ سے دیکھتے رہے ہیں جہاں سے تم ان کو نہیں دیکھ سکتے ہم نے شیطانوں کو انہیں لوگوں کا رفیق کار بنایا ہے جو ایمان نہیں رکھتے

O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.

وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾

Waitha faAAaloo fahishatan qaloo wajadna AAalayha abaana waAllahu amarana biha qul inna Allaha la yamuru bialfahshai ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

اور جب کوئی بے حیائی کا کام کرتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے اپنے بزرگوں کو اسی طرح کرتے دیکھا ہے اور خدا نے بھی ہم کو یہی حکم دیا ہے۔ کہہ دو خدا بےحیائی کے کام کرنے کا ہرگز حکم نہیں دیتا۔ بھلا تم خدا کی نسبت ایسی بات کیوں کہتے ہو جس کا تمہیں علم نہیں

And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"

قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّى بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَٱدْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾

Qul amara rabbee bialqisti waaqeemoo wujoohakum AAinda kulli masjidin waodAAoohu mukhliseena lahu alddeena kama badaakum taAAoodoona

کہہ دو کہ میرے پروردگار نے تو انصاف کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔ اور یہ کہ ہر نماز کے وقت سیدھا (قبلے کی طرف) رخ کیا کرو اور خاص اسی کی عبادت کرو اور اسی کو پکارو۔ اس نے جس طرح تم کو ابتداء میں پیدا کیا تھا اسی طرح تم پھر پیدا ہوگے

Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord has ordered justice and that you maintain yourselves [in worship of Him] at every place [or time] of prostration, and invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion." Just as He originated you, you will return [to life] -

فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ إِنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾

Fareeqan hada wafareeqan haqqa AAalayhimu alddalalatu innahumu ittakhathoo alshshayateena awliyaa min dooni Allahi wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona

ایک فریق کو تو اس نے ہدایت دی اور ایک فریق پر گمراہی ثابت ہوچکی۔ ان لوگوں نے خدا کو چھوڑ کر شیطانوں کو رفیق بنا لیا اور سمجھتے (یہ) ہیں کہ ہدایت یاب ہیں

A group [of you] He guided, and a group deserved [to be in] error. Indeed, they had taken the devils as allies instead of Allah while they thought that they were guided.

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ خُذُوا۟ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ﴿٣١﴾

Ya banee adama khuthoo zeenatakum AAinda kulli masjidin wakuloo waishraboo wala tusrifoo innahu la yuhibbu almusrifeena

اے نبی آدم! ہر نماز کے وقت اپنے تئیں مزّین کیا کرو اور کھاؤ اور پیؤ اور بےجا نہ اڑاؤ کہ خدا بےجا اڑانے والوں کو دوست نہیں رکھتا

O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.

قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلرِّزْقِ قُلْ هِىَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Qul man harrama zeenata Allahi allatee akhraja liAAibadihi waalttayyibati mina alrrizqi qul hiya lillatheena amanoo fee alhayati alddunya khalisatan yawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona

پوچھو تو کہ جو زینت (وآرائش) اور کھانے (پینے) کی پاکیزہ چیزیں خدا نے اپنے بندوں کے لیے پیدا کی ہیں ان کو حرام کس نے کیا ہے؟ کہہ دو کہ یہ چیزیں دنیا کی زندگی میں ایمان والوں کے لیے ہیں اور قیامت کے دن خاص ان ہی کا حصہ ہوں گی۔ اسی طرح خدا اپنی آیتیں سمجھنے والوں کے لیے کھول کھول کر بیان فرماتا ہے

Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.

قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلْإِثْمَ وَٱلْبَغْىَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Qul innama harrama rabbiya alfawahisha ma <i>th</i>ahara minha wama batana waalithma waalbaghya bighayri alhaqqi waan tushrikoo biAllahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan waan taqooloo AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

کہہ دو کہ میرے پروردگار نے تو بےحیائی کی باتوں کو ظاہر ہوں یا پوشیدہ اور گناہ کو اور ناحق زیادتی کرنے کو حرام کیا ہے۔ اور اس کو بھی کہ تم کسی کو خدا کا شریک بناؤ جس کی اس نے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی اور اس کو بھی کہ خدا کے بارے میں ایسی باتیں کہو جن کا تمہیں کچھ علم نہیں

Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ ﴿٣٤﴾

Walikulli ommatin ajalun faitha jaa ajaluhum la yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona

اور ہر ایک فرقے کے لیے (موت کا) ایک وقت مقرر ہے۔ جب وہ آ جاتا ہے تو نہ تو ایک گھڑی دیر کرسکتے ہیں نہ جلدی

And for every nation is a [specified] term. So when their time has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى فَمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾

Ya banee adama imma yatiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayatee famani ittaqa waaslaha fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

اے نبی آدم! (ہم تم کو یہ نصیحت ہمیشہ کرتے رہے ہیں کہ) جب ہمارے پیغمبر تمہارے پاس آیا کریں اور ہماری آیتیں تم کو سنایا کریں (تو ان پر ایمان لایا کرو) کہ جو شخص (ان پر ایمان لا کر خدا سے) ڈرتا رہے گا اور اپنی حالت درست رکھے گا تو ایسے لوگوں کو نہ کچھ خوف ہوگا اور نہ وہ غمناک ہوں گے

O children of Adam, if there come to you messengers from among you relating to you My verses, then whoever fears Allah and reforms - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾

Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

اور جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا اور ان سے سرتابی کی وہی دوزخی ہیں کہ ہمیشہ اس میں (جلتے) رہیں گے

But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٣٧﴾

Faman a<i>th</i>lamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba biayatihi olaika yanaluhum naseebuhum mina alkitabi hatta itha jaathum rusuluna yatawaffawnahum qaloo ayna ma kuntum tadAAoona min dooni Allahi qaloo dalloo AAanna washahidoo AAala anfusihim annahum kanoo kafireena

تو اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہے جو خدا پر جھوٹ باندھے یا اس کی آیتوں کو جھٹلائے۔ ان کو ان کے نصیب کا لکھا ملتا ہی رہے گا یہاں تک کہ جب ان کے پاس ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتے) جان نکالنے آئیں گے تو کہیں گے کہ جن کو تم خدا کے سوا پکارا کرتے تھے وہ (اب) کہاں ہیں؟ وہ کہیں گے (معلوم نہیں) کہ وہ ہم سے (کہاں) غائب ہوگئے اور اقرار کریں گے کہ بےشک وہ کافر تھے

And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie or denies His verses? Those will attain their portion of the decree until when Our messengers come to them to take them in death, they will say, "Where are those you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us," and will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

قَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ فِىٓ أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَىٰهُمْ لِأُولَىٰهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَـَٔاتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٣٨﴾

Qala odkhuloo fee omamin qad khalat min qablikum mina aljinni waalinsi fee alnnari kullama dakhalat ommatun laAAanat okhtaha hatta itha iddarakoo feeha jameeAAan qalat okhrahum lioolahum rabbana haolai adalloona faatihim AAathaban diAAfan mina alnnari qala likullin diAAfun walakin la taAAlamoona

تو خدا فرمائے گا کہ جنّوں اور انسانوں کی جو جماعتیں تم سے پہلے ہو گزری ہیں ان کے ساتھ تم بھی داخل جہنم ہو جاؤ۔ جب ایک جماعت (وہاں) جا داخل ہو گئی تو اپنی (مذہبی) بہن (یعنی اپنے جیسی دوسری جماعت) پر لعنت کرے گی۔ یہاں تک کہ جب سب اس میں داخل ہو جائیں گے تو پچھلی جماعت پہلی کی نسبت کہے گی کہ اے پروردگار! ان ہی لوگوں نے ہم کو گمراہ کیا تھا تو ان کو آتش جہنم کا دگنا عذاب دے۔ خدا فرمائے گا کہ (تم) سب کو دگنا (عذاب دیا جائے گا) مگر تم نہیں جانتے

[Allah] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."

وَقَالَتْ أُولَىٰهُمْ لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾

Waqalat oolahum liokhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona

اور پہلی جماعت پچھلی جماعت سے کہے گی کہ تم کو ہم پر کچھ بھی فضیلت نہ ہوئی تو جو (عمل) تم کیا کرتے تھے اس کے بدلے میں عذاب کے مزے چکھو

And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn."

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿٤٠﴾

Inna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha la tufattahu lahum abwabu alssamai wala yadkhuloona aljannata hatta yalija aljamalu fee sammi alkhiyati wakathalika najzee almujrimeena

جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا اور ان سے سرتابی کی۔ ان کے لیے نہ آسمان کے دروازے کھولے جائیں گے اور نہ وہ بہشت میں داخل ہوں گے۔ یہاں تک کہ اونٹ سوئی کے ناکے میں سے نہ نکل جائے اور گنہگاروں کو ہم ایسی ہی سزا دیا کرتے ہیں

Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٤١﴾

Lahum min jahannama mihadun wamin fawqihim ghawashin wakathalika najzee al<i>thth</i>alimeena

ایسے لوگوں کے لیے (نیچے) بچھونا بھی (آتش) جہنم کا ہوگا اور اوپر سے اوڑھنا بھی (اسی کا) اور ظالموں کو ہم ایسی ہی سزا دیا کرتے ہیں

They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings [of fire]. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٤٢﴾

Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati la nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور عمل نیک کرتے رہے اور ہم (عملوں کے لیے) کسی شخص کو اس کی طاقت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتے۔ ایسے ہی لوگ اہل بہشت ہیں (کہ) اس میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے

But those who believed and did righteous deeds - We charge no soul except [within] its capacity. Those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٤٣﴾

WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimu alanharu waqaloo alhamdu lillahi allathee hadana lihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawla an hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumu aljannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona

اور جو کینے ان کے دلوں میں ہوں گے ہم سب نکال ڈالیں گے۔ ان کے محلوں کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی اور کہیں گے کہ خدا کا شکر ہے جس نے ہم کو یہاں کا راستہ دکھایا اور اگر خدا ہم کو رستہ نہ دکھاتا تو ہم رستہ نہ پا سکتے۔ بےشک ہمارا پروردگار کے رسول حق بات لے کر آئے تھے اور (اس روز) منادی کر دی جائے گی کہ تم ان اعمال کے صلے میں جو دنیا میں کرتے تھے اس بہشت کے وارث بنا دیئے گئے ہو

And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do."

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٤٤﴾

Wanada ashabu aljannati ashaba alnnari an qad wajadna ma waAAadana rabbuna haqqan fahal wajadtum ma waAAada rabbukum haqqan qaloo naAAam faaththana muaththinun baynahum an laAAnatu Allahi AAala al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور اہل بہشت دوزخیوں سے پکار کر کہیں گے کہ جو وعدہ ہمارے پروردگار نے ہم سے کیا تھا ہم نے تو اسے سچا پالیا۔ بھلا جو وعدہ تمہارے پروردگار نے تم سے کیا تھا تم نے بھی اسے سچا پایا؟ وہ کہیں گے ہاں تو (اس وقت) ان میں ایک پکارنے والا پکارے گا کہ بےانصافوں پر خدا کی لعنت

And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce among them, "The curse of Allah shall be upon the wrongdoers."

ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ كَٰفِرُونَ ﴿٤٥﴾

Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bialakhirati kafiroona

جو خدا کی راہ سے روکتے اور اس میں کجی ڈھونڈتے اور آخرت سے انکار کرتے تھے

Who averted [people] from the way of Allah and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers.

وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ وَعَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّۢا بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ وَنَادَوْا۟ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ ﴿٤٦﴾

Wabaynahuma hijabun waAAala alaAArafi rijalun yaAArifoona kullan biseemahum wanadaw ashaba aljannati an salamun AAalaykum lam yadkhulooha wahum yatmaAAoona

ان دونوں (یعنی بہشت اور دوزخ) کے درمیان (اعراف نام) ایک دیوار ہو گی اور اعراف پر کچھ آدمی ہوں گے جو سب کو ان کی صورتوں سے پہچان لیں گے۔ تو وہ اہل بہشت کو پکار کر کہیں گے کہ تم پر سلامتی ہو۔ یہ لوگ بھی بہشت میں داخل تو نہیں ہوں گے مگر امید رکھتے ہوں گے

And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely.

وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تِلْقَآءَ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٤٧﴾

Waitha surifat absaruhum tilqaa ashabi alnnari qaloo rabbana la tajAAalna maAAa alqawmi al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور جب ان کی نگاہیں پلٹ کر اہل دوزخ کی طرف جائیں گی تو عرض کریں گے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار ہم کو ظالم لوگوں کے ساتھ شامل نہ کیجیو

And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ﴿٤٨﴾

Wanada ashabu alaAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahum qaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wama kuntum tastakbiroona

اور اہل اعراف (کافر) لوگوں کو جنہیں ان کی صورتوں سے شناخت کرتے ہوں گے پکاریں گے اور کہیں گے (کہ آج) نہ تو تمہاری جماعت ہی تمہارے کچھ کام آئی اور نہ تمہارا تکبّر (ہی سودمند ہوا)

And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant."

أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ ﴿٤٩﴾

Ahaolai allatheena aqsamtum la yanaluhumu Allahu birahmatin odkhuloo aljannata la khawfun AAalaykum wala antum tahzanoona

(پھر مومنوں کی طرف اشارہ کر کے کہیں گے) کیا یہ وہی لوگ ہیں جن کے بارے میں تم قسمیں کھایا کرتے تھے کہ خدا اپنی رحمت سے ان کی دستگیری نہیں کرے گا (تو مومنو) تم بہشت میں داخل ہو جاؤ تمہیں کچھ خوف نہیں اور نہ تم کو کچھ رنج واندوہ ہوگا

[Allah will say], "Are these the ones whom you [inhabitants of Hell] swore that Allah would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise, [O People of the Elevations]. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve."

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا۟ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٥٠﴾

Wanada ashabu alnari ashaba aljannati an afeedoo AAalayna mina almai aw mimma razaqakumu Allahu qaloo inna Allaha harramahuma AAala alkafireena

اور وہ دوزخی بہشتیوں سے (گڑگڑا کر) کہیں گے کہ کسی قدر ہم پر پانی بہاؤ یا جو رزق خدا نے تمہیں عنایت فرمایا ہے ان میں سے (کچھ ہمیں بھی دو) وہ جواب دیں گے کہ خدا نے بہشت کا پانی اور رزق کافروں پر حرام کر دیا ہے

And the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or from whatever Allah has provided you." They will say, "Indeed, Allah has forbidden them both to the disbelievers."

ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا۟ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ ﴿٥١﴾

Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo biayatina yajhadoona

جنہوں نے اپنے دین کو تماشا اور کھیل بنا رکھا تھا اور دنیا کی زندگی نے ان کو دھوکے میں ڈال رکھا تھا۔ تو جس طرح یہ لوگ اس دن کے آنے کو بھولے ہوئے اور ہماری آیتوں سے منکر ہو رہے تھے۔ اسی طرح آج ہم بھی انہیں بھلا دیں گے

Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded." So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.

وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَٰهُم بِكِتَٰبٍ فَصَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٥٢﴾

Walaqad jinahum bikitabin fassalnahu AAala AAilmin hudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona

اور ہم نے ان کے پاس کتاب پہنچا دی ہے جس کو علم ودانش کے ساتھ کھول کھول کر بیان کر دیا ہے (اور) وہ مومن لوگوں کے لیے ہدایت اور رحمت ہے

And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge - as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُۥ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى تَأْوِيلُهُۥ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا۟ لَنَآ أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ قَدْ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ﴿٥٣﴾

Hal yan<i>th</i>uroona illa taweelahu yawma yatee taweeluhu yaqoolu allatheena nasoohu min qablu qad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi fahal lana min shufaAAaa fayashfaAAoo lana aw nuraddu fanaAAmala ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu qad khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona

کیا یہ لوگ اس کے وعدہٴ عذاب کے منتظر ہیں۔ جس دن وہ وعدہ آجائے گا تو جو لوگ اس کو پہلے سے بھولے ہوئے ہوں گے وہ بول اٹھیں گے کہ بےشک ہمارے پروردگار کے رسول حق لے کر آئے تھے۔ بھلا (آج) ہمارا کوئی سفارشی ہیں کہ ہماری سفارش کریں یا ہم (دنیا میں) پھر لوٹا دیئے جائیں کہ جو عمل (بد) ہم (پہلے) کرتے تھے (وہ نہ کریں بلکہ) ان کے سوا اور (نیک) عمل کریں۔ بےشک ان لوگوں نے اپنا نقصان کیا اور جو کچھ یہ افتراء کیا کرتے تھے ان سے سب جاتا رہا

Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent.

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٥٤﴾

Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yughshee allayla alnnahara yatlubuhu hatheethan waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujooma musakhkharatin biamrihi ala lahu alkhalqu waalamru tabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena

کچھ شک نہیں کہ تمہارا پروردگار خدا ہی ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو چھ دن میں پیدا کیا پھر عرش پر جا ٹھہرا۔ وہی رات کو دن کا لباس پہناتا ہے کہ وہ اس کے پیچھے دوڑتا چلا آتا ہے۔ اور اسی نے سورج اور چاند ستاروں کو پیدا کیا سب اس کے حکم کے مطابق کام میں لگے ہوئے ہیں۔ دیکھو سب مخلوق بھی اسی کی ہے اور حکم بھی (اسی کا ہے) ۔ یہ خدا رب العالمین بڑی برکت والا ہے

Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.

ٱدْعُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ ﴿٥٥﴾

OdAAoo rabbakum tadarruAAan wakhufyatan innahu la yuhibbu almuAAtadeena

(لوگو) اپنے پروردگار سے عاجزی سے اور چپکے چپکے دعائیں مانگا کرو۔ وہ حد سے بڑھنے والوں کو دوست نہیں رکھتا

Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.

وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا وَٱدْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿٥٦﴾

Wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha waodAAoohu khawfan watamaAAan inna rahmata Allahi qareebun mina almuhsineena

اور ملک میں اصلاح کے بعد خرابی نہ کرنا اور خدا سے خوف کرتے ہوئے اور امید رکھ کر دعائیں مانگتے رہنا۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا کی رحمت نیکی کرنے والوں سے قریب ہے

And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَٰهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ ٱلْمَآءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿٥٧﴾

Wahuwa allathee yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi hatta itha aqallat sahaban thiqalan suqnahu libaladin mayyitin faanzalna bihi almaa faakhrajna bihi min kulli alththamarati kathalika nukhriju almawta laAAallakum tathakkaroona

اور وہی تو ہے جو اپنی رحمت (یعنی مینھ) سے پہلے ہواؤں کو خوشخبری (بنا کر) بھیجتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ جب وہ بھاری بھاری بادلوں کو اٹھا لاتی ہے تو ہم اس کو ایک مری ہوئی بستی کی طرف ہانک دیتے ہیں۔ پھر بادل سے مینھ برساتے ہیں۔ پھر مینھ سے ہر طرح کے پھل پیدا کرتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح ہم مردوں کو (زمین سے) زندہ کرکے باہر نکال لیں گے۔ (یہ آیات اس لیے بیان کی جاتی ہیں) تاکہ تم نصیحت پکڑو

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.

وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿٥٨﴾

Waalbaladu alttayyibu yakhruju nabatuhu biithni rabbihi waallathee khabutha la yakhruju illa nakidan kathalika nusarrifu alayati liqawmin yashkuroona

جو زمین پاکیزہ (ہے) اس میں سے سبزہ بھی پروردگار کے حکم سے (نفیس ہی) نکلتا ہے اور جو خراب ہے اس میں جو کچھ ہے ناقص ہوتا ہے۔ اسی طرح ہم آیتوں کو شکرگزار لوگوں کے لئے پھیر پھیر کر بیان کرتے ہیں

And the good land - its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord; but that which is bad - nothing emerges except sparsely, with difficulty. Thus do We diversify the signs for a people who are grateful.

لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٥٩﴾

Laqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAa<i>th</i>eemin

ہم نے نوح کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا تو انہوں نے (ان سے کہا) اے میری برادری کے لوگو خدا کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ مجھے تمہارے بارے میں بڑے دن کے عذاب کا (بہت ہی) ڈر ہے

We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day.

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٦٠﴾

Qala almalao min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee dalalin mubeenin

تو جو ان کی قوم میں سردار تھے وہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم تمہیں صریح گمراہی میں (مبتلا) دیکھتے ہیں

Said the eminent among his people, "Indeed, we see you in clear error."

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى ضَلَٰلَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٦١﴾

Qala ya qawmi laysa bee dalalatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena

انہوں نے کہا اے قوم مجھ میں کسی طرح کی گمراہی نہیں ہے بلکہ میں پروردگار عالم کا پیغمبر ہوں

[Noah] said, "O my people, there is not error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds."

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٦٢﴾

Oballighukum risalati rabbee waansahu lakum waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

تمہیں اپنے پروردگار کے پیغام پہنچاتا ہوں اور تمہاری خیرخواہی کرتا ہوں اور مجھ کو خدا کی طرف سے ایسی باتیں معلوم ہیں جن سے تم بےخبر ہو

I convey to you the messages of my Lord and advise you; and I know from Allah what you do not know.

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ﴿٦٣﴾

AwaAAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum walitattaqoo walaAAallakum turhamoona

کیا تم کو اس بات سے تعجب ہوا ہے کہ تم میں سے ایک شخص کے ہاتھ تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تمہارے پاس نصیحت آئی تاکہ وہ تم کو ڈرائے اور تاکہ تم پرہیزگار بنو اور تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے

Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you and that you may fear Allah so you might receive mercy."

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ ﴿٦٤﴾

Fakaththaboohu faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu fee alfulki waaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina innahum kanoo qawman AAameena

مگر ان لوگوں نے ان کی تکذیب کی۔ تو ہم نے نوح کو اور جو ان کے ساتھ کشتی میں سوار تھے ان کو تو بچا لیا اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا تھا انہیں غرق کر دیا۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ وہ اندھے لوگ تھے

But they denied him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the ship. And We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind people.

وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿٦٥﴾

Waila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona

اور (اسی طرح) قوم عاد کی طرف ان کے بھائی ہود کو بھیجا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھائیو خدا ہی کی عبادت کرو۔ اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں؟

And to the 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?"

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى سَفَاهَةٍ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ ﴿٦٦﴾

Qala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee safahatin wainna lana<i>th</i>unnuka mina alkathibeena

تو ان کی قوم کے سردار جو کافر تھے کہنے لگے کہ تم ہمیں احمق نظر آتے ہو اور ہم تمہیں جھوٹا خیال کرتے ہیں

Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and indeed, we think you are of the liars."

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى سَفَاهَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٦٧﴾

Qala ya qawmi laysa bee safahatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena

انہوں نے کہا کہ بھائیو مجھ میں حماقت کی کوئی بات نہیں ہے بلکہ میں رب العالمین کا پیغمبر ہوں

[Hud] said, "O my people, there is not foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds."

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿٦٨﴾

Oballighukum risalati rabbee waana lakum nasihun ameenun

میں تمہیں خدا کے پیغام پہنچاتا ہوں اور تمہارا امانت دار خیرخواہ ہوں

I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser.

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةً فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ﴿٦٩﴾

AwaAAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi qawmi noohin wazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan faothkuroo alaa Allahi laAAallakum tuflihoona

کیا تم کو اس بات سے تعجب ہوا ہے کہ تم میں سے ایک شخص کے ہاتھ تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تمہارے پاس نصیحت آئی تاکہ وہ تمہیں ڈرائے اور یاد کرو تو کرو جب اس نے تم کو قوم نوح کے بعد سردار بنایا۔ اور تم کو پھیلاؤ زیادہ دیا۔ پس خدا کی نعمتوں کو یاد کرو۔ تاکہ نجات حاصل کرو

Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed.

قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَحْدَهُۥ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ ﴿٧٠﴾

Qaloo ajitana linaAAbuda Allaha wahdahu wanathara ma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena

وہ کہنے لگے کہ تم ہمارے پاس اس لیے آئے ہو کہ ہم اکیلے خدا ہی کی عبادت کریں۔ اور جن کو ہمارے باپ دادا پوجتے چلے آئے ہیں ان کو چھوڑ دیں؟ تو اگر سچے ہو تو جس چیز سے ہمیں ڈراتے ہو اسے لے آؤ

They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ أَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِى فِىٓ أَسْمَآءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ ﴿٧١﴾

Qala qad waqaAAa AAalaykum min rabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asmain sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma nazzala Allahu biha min sultanin fainta<i>th</i>iroo innee maAAakum mina almunta<i>th</i>ireena

ہود نے کہا تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم پر عذاب اور غضب کا (نازل ہونا) مقرر ہو چکا ہے۔ کیا تم مجھ سے ایسے ناموں کے بارے میں جھگڑتے ہو جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے (اپنی طرف سے) رکھ لئے ہیں۔ جن کی خدا نے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی۔ تو تم بھی انتظار کرو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرتا ہوں

[Hud] said, "Already have defilement and anger fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٧٢﴾

Faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu birahmatin minna waqataAAna dabira allatheena kaththaboo biayatina wama kanoo mumineena

پھر ہم نے ہود کو اور جو لوگ ان کے ساتھ تھے ان کو نجات بخشی اور جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا تھا ان کی جڑ کاٹ دی اور وہ ایمان لانے والے تھے ہی نہیں

So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us. And We eliminated those who denied Our signs, and they were not [at all] believers.

وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿٧٣﴾

Waila thamooda akhahum salihan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum hathihi naqatu Allahi lakum ayatan fatharooha takul fee ardi Allahi wala tamassooha bisooin fayakhuthakum AAathabun aleemun

اور قوم ثمود کی طرف ان کے بھائی صالح کو بھیجا۔ (تو) صالح نے کہا کہ اے قوم! خدا ہی کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ تمہارے پاس تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے ایک معجزہ آ چکا ہے۔ (یعنی) یہی خدا کی اونٹنی تمہارے لیے معجزہ ہے۔ تو اسے (آزاد) چھوڑ دو کہ خدا کی زمین میں چرتی پھرے اور تم اسے بری نیت سے ہاتھ بھی نہ لگانا۔ ورنہ عذابِ الیم میں تمہیں پکڑ لے گا

And to the Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. This is the she-camel of Allah [sent] to you as a sign. So leave her to eat within Allah 's land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful punishment.

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ﴿٧٤﴾

Waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakum fee alardi tattakhithoona min suhooliha qusooran watanhitoona aljibala buyootan faothkuroo alaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena

اور یاد تو کرو جب اس نے تم کو قوم عاد کے بعد سردار بنایا اور زمین پر آباد کیا کہ نرم زمین سے (مٹی لے لے کر) محل تعمیر کرتے ہو اور پہاڑوں کو تراش تراش کر گھر بناتے ہو۔ پس خدا کی نعمتوں کو یاد کرو اور زمین میں فساد نہ کرتے پھرو

And remember when He made you successors after the 'Aad and settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِمَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَٰلِحًا مُّرْسَلٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلَ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٧٥﴾

Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lillatheena istudAAifoo liman amana minhum ataAAlamoona anna salihan mursalun min rabbihi qaloo inna bima orsila bihi muminoona

تو ان کی قوم میں سردار لوگ جو غرور رکھتے تھے غریب لوگوں سے جو ان میں سے ایمان لے آئے تھے کہنے لگے بھلا تم یقین کرتے ہو کہ صالح اپنے پروردگار کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا ہاں جو چیز دے کر وہ بھیجے گئے ہیں ہم اس پر بلاشبہ ایمان رکھتے ہیں

Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed - to those who believed among them, "Do you [actually] know that Salih is sent from his Lord?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which he was sent, are believers."

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ ﴿٧٦﴾

Qala allatheena istakbaroo inna biallathee amantum bihi kafiroona

تو (سرداران) مغرور کہنے لگے کہ جس چیز پر تم ایمان لائے ہو ہم تو اس کو نہیں مانتے

Said those who were arrogant, "Indeed we, in that which you have believed, are disbelievers."

فَعَقَرُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰصَٰلِحُ ٱئْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿٧٧﴾

FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAataw AAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihu itina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina almursaleena

آخر انہوں نے اونٹی (کی کونچوں) کو کاٹ ڈالا اور اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے سرکشی کی اور کہنے لگے کہ صالح! جس چیز سے تم ہمیں ڈراتے تھے اگر تم (خدا کے) پیغمبر ہو تو اسے ہم پر لے آؤ

So they hamstrung the she-camel and were insolent toward the command of their Lord and said, "O Salih, bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the messengers."

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ ﴿٧٨﴾

Faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena

تو ان کو بھونچال نے آ پکڑا اور وہ اپنے گھروں میں اوندھے پڑے رہ گئے

So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.

فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُحِبُّونَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ ﴿٧٩﴾

Fatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalata rabbee wanasahtu lakum walakin la tuhibboona alnnasiheena

پھر صالح ان سے (ناامید ہو کر) پھرے اور کہا کہ میری قوم! میں نے تم کو خدا کا پیغام پہنچا دیا اور تمہاری خیر خواہی کی مگر تم (ایسے ہو کہ) خیر خواہوں کو دوست ہی نہیں رکھتے

And he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the message of my Lord and advised you, but you do not like advisors."

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٨٠﴾

Walootan ith qala liqawmihi atatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena

اور اسی طرح جب ہم نے لوط کو (پیغمبر بنا کر بھیجا تو) اس وقت انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ تم ایسی بےحیائی کا کام کیوں کرتے ہو کہ تم سے اہل عالم میں سے کسی نے اس طرح کا کام نہیں کیا

And [We had sent] Lot when he said to his people, "Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds?

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ ﴿٨١﴾

Innakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun musrifoona

یعنی خواہش نفسانی پورا کرنے کے لیے عورتوں کو چھوڑ کر لونڈوں پر گرتے ہو۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ تم لوگ حد سے نکل جانے والے ہو

Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people."

وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ ﴿٨٢﴾

Wama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoohum min qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona

تو ان سے اس کا جواب کچھ نہ بن پڑا اور بولے تو یہ بولے کہ ان لوگوں (یعنی لوط اور اس کے گھر والوں) کو اپنے گاؤں سے نکال دو (کہ) یہ لوگ پاک بننا چاہتے ہیں

But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure."

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ ﴿٨٣﴾

Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena

تو ہم نے ان کو اور ان کے گھر والوں کو بچا لیا مگر ان کی بی بی (نہ بچی) کہ وہ پیچھے رہنے والوں میں تھی

So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers].

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿٨٤﴾

Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran faon<i>th</i>ur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeena

اور ہم نے ان پر (پتھروں کا) مینھ برسایا۔ سو دیکھ لو کہ گنہگاروں کا کیسا انجام ہوا

And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals.

وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٨٥﴾

Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum faawfoo alkayla waalmeezana wala tabkhasoo alnnasa ashyaahum wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum mumineena

اور مَدین کی طرف ان کے بھائی شعیب کو بھیجا۔ (تو) انہوں نے کہا کہ قوم! خدا ہی کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ تمہارے پاس تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نشانی آچکی ہے تو تم ناپ تول پوری کیا کرو اور لوگوں کو چیزیں کم نہ دیا کرو۔ اور زمین میں اصلاح کے بعد خرابی نہ کرو۔ اگر تم صاحب ایمان ہو تو سمجھ لو کہ یہ بات تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے

And to [the people of] Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. So fulfill the measure and weight and do not deprive people of their due and cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. That is better for you, if you should be believers.

وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ بِكُلِّ صِرَٰطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ ﴿٨٦﴾

Wala taqAAudoo bikulli siratin tooAAidoona watasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana bihi watabghoonaha AAiwajan waothkuroo ith kuntum qaleelan fakaththarakum waon<i>th</i>uroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena

اور ہر رستے پر مت بیٹھا کرو کہ جو شخص خدا پر ایمان نہیں لاتا ہے اسے تم ڈراتے اور راہ خدا سے روکتے اور اس میں کجی ڈھونڈتے ہو اور (اس وقت کو) یاد کرو جب تم تھوڑے سے تھے تو خدا نے تم کو جماعت کثیر کر دیا اور دیکھ لو کہ خرابی کرنے والوں کا انجام کیسا ہوا

And do not sit on every path, threatening and averting from the way of Allah those who believe in Him, seeking to make it [seem] deviant. And remember when you were few and He increased you. And see how was the end of the corrupters.

وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنكُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَطَآئِفَةٌ لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَٱصْبِرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ ﴿٨٧﴾

Wain kana taifatun minkum amanoo biallathee orsiltu bihi wataifatun lam yuminoo faisbiroo hatta yahkuma Allahu baynana wahuwa khayru alhakimeena

اور اگر تم میں سے ایک جماعت میری رسالت پر ایمان لے آئی ہے اور ایک جماعت ایمان نہیں لائی ہے۔ اور ایک جماعت ایمان نہیں لائی۔ تو صبر کیے رہو یہاں تک کہ خدا ہمارے تمہارے درمیان فیصلہ کر دے اور وہ سب سے بہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے

And if there should be a group among you who has believed in that with which I have been sent and a group that has not believed, then be patient until Allah judges between us. And He is the best of judges."

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَٰشُعَيْبُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَكَ مِن قَرْيَتِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَٰرِهِينَ ﴿٨٨﴾

Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lanukhrijannaka ya shuAAaybu waallatheena amanoo maAAaka min qaryatina aw lataAAoodunna fee millatina qala awalaw kunna kariheena

(تو) ان کی قوم میں جو لوگ سردار اور بڑے آدمی تھے، وہ کہنے لگے کہ شعیب! (یا تو) ہم تم کو اور جو لوگ تمہارے ساتھ ایمان لائے ہیں، ان کو اپنے شہر سے نکال دیں گے۔ یا تم ہمارے مذہب میں آجاؤ۔ انہوں نے کہا خواہ ہم (تمہارے دین سے) بیزار ہی ہوں (تو بھی؟)

Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people, "We will surely evict you, O Shu'ayb, and those who have believed with you from our city, or you must return to our religion." He said, "Even if we were unwilling?"

قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُودَ فِيهَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ ﴿٨٩﴾

Qadi iftarayna AAala Allahi kathiban in AAudna fee millatikum baAAda ith najjana Allahu minha wama yakoonu lana an naAAooda feeha illa an yashaa Allahu rabbuna wasiAAa rabbuna kulla shayin AAilman AAala Allahi tawakkalna rabbana iftah baynana wabayna qawmina bialhaqqi waanta khayru alfatiheena

اگر ہم اس کے بعد کہ خدا ہمیں اس سے نجات بخش چکا ہے تمہارے مذہب میں لوٹ جائیں تو بےشک ہم نے خدا پر جھوٹ افتراء باندھا۔ اور ہمیں شایاں نہیں کہ ہم اس میں لوٹ جائیں ہاں خدا جو ہمارا پروردگار ہے وہ چاہے تو (ہم مجبور ہیں) ۔ ہمارے پروردگار کا علم ہر چیز پر احاطہ کیے ہوئے ہے۔ ہمارا خدا ہی پر بھروسہ ہے۔ اے پروردگار ہم میں اور ہماری قوم میں انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلہ کردے اور تو سب سے بہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے

We would have invented against Allah a lie if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision."

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ ﴿٩٠﴾

Waqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi laini ittabaAAtum shuAAayban innakum ithan lakhasiroona

اور ان کی قوم میں سے سردار لوگ جو کافر تھے، کہنے لگے (بھائیو) اگر تم نے شعیب کی پیروی کی تو بےشک تم خسارے میں پڑگئے

Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "If you should follow Shu'ayb, indeed, you would then be losers."

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ ﴿٩١﴾

Faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena

تو ان کو بھونچال نے آپکڑا اور وہ اپنے گھروں میں اوندھے پڑے رہ گئے

So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.

ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ﴿٩٢﴾

Allatheena kaththaboo shuAAayban kaan lam yaghnaw feeha allatheena kaththaboo shuAAayban kanoo humu alkhasireena

(یہ لوگ) جنہوں نے شعیب کی تکذیب کی تھی ایسے برباد ہوئے تھے کہ گویا وہ ان میں کبھی آباد ہی نہیں ہوئے تھے (غرض) جنہوں نے شعیب کو جھٹلایا وہ خسارے میں پڑگئے

Those who denied Shu'ayb - it was as though they had never resided there. Those who denied Shu'ayb - it was they who were the losers.

فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٩٣﴾

Fatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalati rabbee wanasahtu lakum fakayfa asa AAala qawmin kafireena

تو شعیب ان میں سے نکل آئے اور کہا کہ بھائیو میں نے تم کو اپنے پروردگار کے پیغام پہنچا دیئے ہیں اور تمہاری خیرخواہی کی تھی۔ تو میں کافروں پر (عذاب نازل ہونے سے) رنج وغم کیوں کروں

And he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you, so how could I grieve for a disbelieving people?"

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّآ أَخَذْنَآ أَهْلَهَا بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ ﴿٩٤﴾

Wama arsalna fee qaryatin min nabiyyin illa akhathna ahlaha bialbasai waalddarrai laAAallahum yaddarraAAoona

اور ہم نے کسی شہر میں کوئی پیغمبر نہیں بھیجا مگر وہاں کے رہنے والوں کو (جو ایمان نہ لائے) دکھوں اور مصیبتوں میں مبتلا کیا تاکہ وہ عاجزی اور زاری کریں

And We sent to no city a prophet [who was denied] except that We seized its people with poverty and hardship that they might humble themselves [to Allah].

ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿٩٥﴾

Thumma baddalna makana alssayyiati alhasanata hatta AAafaw waqaloo qad massa abaana alddarrao waalssarrao faakhathnahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona

پھر ہم نے تکلیف کو آسودگی سے بدل دیا یہاں تک کہ (مال واولاد میں) زیادہ ہوگئے تو کہنے لگے کہ اس طرح کا رنج وراحت ہمارے بڑوں کو بھی پہنچتا رہا ہے تو ہم نے ان کو ناگہاں پکڑلیا اور وہ (اپنے حال میں) بےخبر تھے

Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive.

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿٩٦﴾

Walaw anna ahla alqura amanoo waittaqaw lafatahna AAalayhim barakatin mina alssamai waalardi walakin kaththaboo faakhathnahum bima kanoo yaksiboona

اگر ان بستیوں کے لوگ ایمان لے آتے اور پرہیزگار ہوجاتے۔ تو ہم ان پر آسمان اور زمین کی برکات (کے دروازے) کھول دیتے مگر انہوں نے تو تکذیب کی۔ سو ان کے اعمال کی سزا میں ہم نے ان کو پکڑ لیا

And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning."

أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًا وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ ﴿٩٧﴾

Afaamina ahlu alqura an yatiyahum basuna bayatan wahum naimoona

کیا بستیوں کے رہنے والے اس سے بےخوف ہیں کہ ان پر ہمارا عذاب رات کو واقع ہو اور وہ (بےخبر) سو رہے ہوں

Then, did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep?

أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ ﴿٩٨﴾

Awa amina ahlu alqura an yatiyahum basuna duhan wahum yalAAaboona

اور کیا اہلِ شہر اس سے نڈر ہیں کہ ان پر ہمارا عذاب دن چڑھے آ نازل ہو اور وہ کھیل رہے ہوں

Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they were at play?

أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ ﴿٩٩﴾

Afaaminoo makra Allahi fala yamanu makra Allahi illa alqawmu alkhasiroona

کیا یہ لوگ خدا کے داؤ کا ڈر نہیں رکھتے (سن لو کہ) خدا کے داؤ سے وہی لوگ نڈر ہوتے ہیں جو خسارہ پانے والے ہیں

Then did they feel secure from the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people.

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ ﴿١٠٠﴾

Awalam yahdi lillatheena yarithoona alarda min baAAdi ahliha an law nashao asabnahum bithunoobihim wanatbaAAu AAala quloobihim fahum la yasmaAAoona

کیا ان لوگوں کو جو اہلِ زمین کے (مرجانے کے) بعد زمین کے مالک ہوتے ہیں، یہ امر موجب ہدایت نہیں ہوا کہ اگر ہم چاہیں تو ان کے گناہوں کے سبب ان پر مصیبت ڈال دیں۔ اور ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگادیں کہ کچھ سن ہی نہ سکیں

Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear.

تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٠١﴾

Tilka alqura naqussu AAalayka min anbaiha walaqad jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kanoo liyuminoo bima kaththaboo min qablu kathalika yatbaAAu Allahu AAala quloobi alkafireena

یہ بستیاں ہیں جن کے کچھ حالات ہم تم کو سناتے ہیں۔ اور ان کے پاس ان کے پیغمبر نشانیاں لے کر آئے۔ مگر وہ ایسے نہیں تھے کہ جس چیز کو پہلے جھٹلا چکے ہوں اسے مان لیں اسی طرح خدا کافروں کے دلوں پر مہر لگا دیتا ہے

Those cities - We relate to you, [O Muhammad], some of their news. And certainly did their messengers come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. Thus does Allah seal over the hearts of the disbelievers.

وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ وَإِن وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَٰسِقِينَ ﴿١٠٢﴾

Wama wajadna liaktharihim min AAahdin wain wajadna aktharahum lafasiqeena

اور ہم نے ان میں سے اکثروں میں (عہد کا نباہ) نہیں دیکھا۔ اور ان میں اکثروں کو (دیکھا تو) بدکار ہی دیکھا

And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient.

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ ﴿١٠٣﴾

Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihim moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi fa<i>th</i>alamoo biha faonu<i>th</i>ur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena

پھر ان (پیغمبروں) کے بعد ہم نے موسیٰ کو نشانیاں دے کر فرعون اور اس کے اعیانِ سلطنت کے پاس بھیجا تو انہوں نے ان کے ساتھ کفر کیا۔ سو دیکھ لو کہ خرابی کرنے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوا

Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَٰفِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٠٤﴾

Waqala moosa ya firAAawnu innee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena

اور موسیٰ نے کہا کہ اے فرعون میں رب العالمین کا پیغمبر ہوں

And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds

حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن لَّآ أَقُولَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِىَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿١٠٥﴾

Haqeequn AAala an la aqoola AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa qad jitukum bibayyinatin min rabbikum faarsil maAAiya banee israeela

مجھ پر واجب ہے کہ خدا کی طرف سے جو کچھ کہوں سچ ہی کہوں۔ میں تمہارے پاس تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آیا ہوں۔ سو بنی اسرائیل کو میرے ساتھ جانے کی رخصت دے دیجیے

[Who is] obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel."

قَالَ إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِـَٔايَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ ﴿١٠٦﴾

Qala in kunta jita biayatin fati biha in kunta mina alssadiqeena

فرعون نے کہا اگر تم نشانی لے کر آئے ہو تو اگر سچے ہو تو لاؤ (دکھاؤ)

[Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful."

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿١٠٧﴾

Faalqa AAasahu faitha hiya thuAAbanun mubeenun

موسیٰ نے اپنی لاٹھی (زمین پر) ڈال دی تو وہ اسی وقت صریح اژدھا (ہوگیا)

So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest.

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ ﴿١٠٨﴾

WanazaAAa yadahu faitha hiya baydao lilnna<i>th</i>ireena

اور اپنا ہاتھ باہر نکالا تو اسی دم دیکھنے والوں کی نگاہوں میں سفید براق (تھا)

And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers.

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿١٠٩﴾

Qala almalao min qawmi firAAawna inna hatha lasahirun AAaleemun

تو قوم فرعون میں جو سردار تھے وہ کہنے لگے کہ یہ بڑا علامہ جادوگر ہے

Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ﴿١١٠﴾

Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum famatha tamuroona

اس کا ارادہ یہ ہے کہ تم کو تمہارے ملک سے نکال دے۔ بھلا تمہاری کیا صلاح ہے؟

Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?"

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ ﴿١١١﴾

Qaloo arjih waakhahu waarsil fee almadaini hashireena

انہوں نے (فرعون سے) کہا کہ فی الحال موسیٰ اور اس کے بھائی کے معاملے کو معاف رکھیے اور شہروں میں نقیب روانہ کر دیجیے

They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ ﴿١١٢﴾

Yatooka bikulli sahirin AAaleemin

کہ تمام ماہر جادوگروں کو آپ کے پاس لے آئیں

Who will bring you every learned magician."

وَجَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ ﴿١١٣﴾

Wajaa alssaharatu firAAawna qaloo inna lana laajran in kunna nahnu alghalibeena

(چنانچہ ایسا ہی کیا گیا) اور جادوگر فرعون کے پاس آپہنچے اور کہنے لگے کہ اگر ہم جیت گئے تو ہمیں صلہ عطا کیا جائے

And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant."

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ﴿١١٤﴾

Qala naAAam wainnakum lamina almuqarrabeena

(فرعون نے) کہا ہاں (ضرور) اور (اس کے علاوہ) تم مقربوں میں داخل کرلیے جاؤ گے

He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]."

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُلْقِينَ ﴿١١٥﴾

Qaloo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona nahnu almulqeena

(جب فریقین روزِ مقررہ پر جمع ہوئے تو) جادوگروں نے کہا کہ موسیٰ یا تو تم (جادو کی چیز) ڈالو یا ہم ڈالتے ہیں

They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]."

قَالَ أَلْقُوا۟ فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ سَحَرُوٓا۟ أَعْيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١١٦﴾

Qala alqoo falamma alqaw saharoo aAAyuna alnnasi waistarhaboohum wajaoo bisihrin AAa<i>th</i>eemin

(موسیٰ نے) کہا تم ہی ڈالو۔ جب انہوں نے (جادو کی چیزیں) ڈالیں تو لوگوں کی آنکھوں پر جادو کردیا (یعنی نظربندی کردی) اور (لاٹھیوں اور رسیوں کے سانپ بنا بنا کر) انہیں ڈرا دیا اور بہت بڑا جادو دکھایا

He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic.

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ﴿١١٧﴾

Waawhayna ila moosa an alqi AAasaka faitha hiya talqafu ma yafikoona

(اس وقت) ہم نے موسیٰ کی طرف وحی بھیجی کہ تم بھی اپنی لاٹھی ڈال دو۔ وہ فوراً (سانپ بن کر) جادوگروں کے بنائے ہوئے سانپوں کو (ایک ایک کرکے) نگل جائے گی

And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying.

فَوَقَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١١٨﴾

FawaqaAAa alhaqqu wabatala ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

(پھر) تو حق ثابت ہوگیا اور جو کچھ فرعونی کرتے تھے، باطل ہوگیا

So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing.

فَغُلِبُوا۟ هُنَالِكَ وَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ صَٰغِرِينَ ﴿١١٩﴾

Faghuliboo hunalika wainqalaboo saghireena

اور وہ مغلوب ہوگئے اور ذلیل ہوکر رہ گئے

And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased.

وَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ ﴿١٢٠﴾

Waolqiya alssaharatu sajideena

(یہ کیفیت دیکھ کر) جادوگر سجدے میں گر پڑے

And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٢١﴾

Qaloo amanna birabbi alAAalameena

اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم جہان کے پروردگار پر ایمان لائے

They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ﴿١٢٢﴾

Rabbi moosa waharoona

یعنی موسیٰ اور ہارون کے پروردگار پر

The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهَآ أَهْلَهَا فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٢٣﴾

Qala firAAawnu amantum bihi qabla an athana lakum inna hatha lamakrun makartumoohu fee almadeenati litukhrijoo minha ahlaha fasawfa taAAlamoona

فرعون نے کہا کہ پیشتر اس کے کہ میں تمہیں اجازت دوں تم اس پر ایمان لے آئے؟ بےشک یہ فریب ہے جو تم نے مل کر شہر میں کیا ہے تاکہ اہلِ شہر کو یہاں سے نکال دو۔ سو عنقریب (اس کا نتیجہ) معلوم کرلو گے

Said Pharaoh, "You believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a conspiracy which you conspired in the city to expel therefrom its people. But you are going to know.

لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿١٢٤﴾

LaoqatiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin thumma laosallibannakum ajmaAAeena

میں (پہلے تو) تمہارے ایک طرف کے ہاتھ اور دوسری طرف کے پاؤں کٹوا دوں گا پھر تم سب کو سولی چڑھوا دوں گا

I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all."

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ﴿١٢٥﴾

Qaloo inna ila rabbina munqaliboona

وہ بولے کہ ہم تو اپنے پروردگار کی طرف لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں

They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return.

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتْنَا رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ﴿١٢٦﴾

Wama tanqimu minna illa an amanna biayati rabbina lamma jaatna rabbana afrigh AAalayna sabran watawaffana muslimeena

اور اس کے سوا تجھ کو ہماری کون سی بات بری لگی ہے کہ جب ہمارے پروردگار کی نشانیاں ہمارے پاس آگئیں تو ہم ان پر ایمان لے آئے۔ اے پروردگار ہم پر صبرواستقامت کے دہانے کھول دے اور ہمیں (ماریو تو) مسلمان ہی ماریو

And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]."

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُۥ لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَٰهِرُونَ ﴿١٢٧﴾

Waqala almalao min qawmi firAAawna atatharu moosa waqawmahu liyufsidoo fee alardi wayatharaka waalihataka qala sanuqattilu abnaahum wanastahyee nisaahum wainna fawqahum qahiroona

اور قومِ فرعون میں جو سردار تھے کہنے لگے کہ کیا آپ موسیٰ اور اس کی قوم کو چھوڑ دیجیے گا کہ ملک میں خرابی کریں اور آپ سے اور آپ کے معبودوں سے دست کش ہوجائیں۔ وہ بولے کہ ہم ان کے لڑکوں کو قتل کرڈالیں گے اور لڑکیوں کو زندہ رہنے دیں گے اور بےشک ہم ان پر غالب ہیں

And the eminent among the people of Pharaoh said," Will you leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?" [Pharaoh] said, "We will kill their sons and keep their women alive; and indeed, we are subjugators over them."

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿١٢٨﴾

Qala moosa liqawmihi istaAAeenoo biAllahi waisbiroo inna alarda lillahi yoorithuha man yashao min AAibadihi waalAAaqibatu lilmuttaqeena

موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ خدا سے مدد مانگو اور ثابت قدم رہو۔ زمین تو خدا کی ہے۔ وہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جسے چاہتا ہے اس کا مالک بناتا ہے۔ اور آخر بھلا تو ڈرنے والوں کا ہے

Said Moses to his people, "Seek help through Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous."

قَالُوٓا۟ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٢٩﴾

Qaloo ootheena min qabli an tatiyana wamin baAAdi ma jitana qala AAasa rabbukum an yuhlika AAaduwwakum wayastakhlifakum fee alardi fayan<i>th</i>ura kayfa taAAmaloona

وہ بولے کہ تمہارے آنے سے پہلے بھی ہم کو اذیتیں پہنچتی رہیں اور آنے کے بعد بھی۔ موسیٰ نے کہا کہ قریب ہے کہ تمہارا پروردگار تمہارے دشمن کو ہلاک کردے اور اس کی جگہ تمہیں زمین میں خلیفہ بنائے پھر دیکھے کہ تم کیسے عمل کرتے ہو

They said, "We have been harmed before you came to us and after you have come to us." He said, "Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and grant you succession in the land and see how you will do."

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ﴿١٣٠﴾

Walaqad akhathna ala firAAawna bialssineena wanaqsin mina alththamarati laAAallahum yaththakkaroona

اور ہم نے فرعونیوں کو قحطوں اور میووں کے نقصان میں پکڑا تاکہ نصیحت حاصل کریں

And We certainly seized the people of Pharaoh with years of famine and a deficiency in fruits that perhaps they would be reminded.

فَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا۟ لَنَا هَٰذِهِۦ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا۟ بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَٰٓئِرُهُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٣١﴾

Faitha jaathumu alhasanatu qaloo lana hathihi wain tusibhum sayyiatun yattayyaroo bimoosa waman maAAahu ala innama tairuhum AAinda Allahi walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

تو جب ان کو آسائش حاصل ہوتی تو کہتے کہ ہم اس کے مستحق ہیں۔ اور اگر سختی پہنچتی تو موسیٰ اور ان کے رفیقوں کی بدشگونی بتاتے۔ دیکھو ان کی بدشگونی خدا کے ہاں مقرر ہے لیکن ان میں اکثر نہیں جانتے

But when good came to them, they said, "This is ours [by right]." And if a bad [condition] struck them, they saw an evil omen in Moses and those with him. Unquestionably, their fortune is with Allah, but most of them do not know.

وَقَالُوا۟ مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِۦ مِنْ ءَايَةٍ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٣٢﴾

Waqaloo mahma tatina bihi min ayatin litasharana biha fama nahnu laka bimumineena

اور کہنے لگے کہ تم ہمارے پاس (خواہ) کوئی ہی نشانی لاؤ تاکہ اس سے ہم پر جادو کرو۔ مگر ہم تم پر ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں

And they said, "No matter what sign you bring us with which to bewitch us, we will not be believers in you."

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ ﴿١٣٣﴾

Faarsalna AAalayhimu alttoofana waaljarada waalqummala waalddafadiAAa waalddama ayatin mufassalatin faistakbaroo wakanoo qawman mujrimeena

تو ہم نے ان پر طوفان اور ٹڈیاں اور جوئیں اور مینڈک اور خون کتنی کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں بھیجیں۔ مگر وہ تکبر ہی کرتے رہے اور وہ لوگ تھے ہی گنہگار

So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood as distinct signs, but they were arrogant and were a criminal people.

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿١٣٤﴾

Walamma waqaAAa AAalayhimu alrrijzu qaloo ya moosa odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka lain kashafta AAanna alrrijza lanuminanna laka walanursilanna maAAaka banee israeela

اور جب ان پر عذاب واقع ہوتا تو کہتے کہ موسیٰ ہمارے لیے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کرو۔ جیسا اس نے تم سے عہد کر رکھا ہے۔ اگر تم ہم سے عذاب کو ٹال دو گے تو ہم تم پر ایمان بھی لے آئیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو بھی تمہارے ساتھ جانے (کی اجازت) دیں گے

And when the punishment descended upon them, they said, "O Moses, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. If you [can] remove the punishment from us, we will surely believe you, and we will send with you the Children of Israel."

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ ﴿١٣٥﴾

Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alrrijza ila ajalin hum balighoohu itha hum yankuthoona

پھر جب ہم ایک مدت کے لیے جس تک ان کو پہنچنا تھا ان سے عذاب دور کردیتے تو وہ عہد کو توڑ ڈالتے

But when We removed the punishment from them until a term which they were to reach, then at once they broke their word.

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ ﴿١٣٦﴾

Faintaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum fee alyammi biannahum kaththaboo biayatina wakanoo AAanha ghafileena

تو ہم نے ان سے بدلہ لے کر ہی چھوڑا کہ ان کو دریا میں ڈبو دیا اس لیے کہ وہ ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلاتے اور ان سے بےپروائی کرتے تھے

So We took retribution from them, and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.

وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ ﴿١٣٧﴾

Waawrathna alqawma allatheena kanoo yustadAAafoona mashariqa alardi wamagharibaha allatee barakna feeha watammat kalimatu rabbika alhusna AAala banee israeela bima sabaroo wadammarna ma kana yasnaAAu firAAawnu waqawmuhu wama kanoo yaAArishoona

اور جو لوگ کمزور سمجھے جاتے تھے ان کو زمین (شام) کے مشرق ومغرب کا جس میں ہم نے برکت دی تھی وارث کردیا اور بنی اسرائیل کے بارے میں ان کے صبر کی وجہ سے تمہارے پروردگار کا وعدہٴ نیک پورا ہوا اور فرعون اور قوم فرعون جو (محل) بناتے اور (انگور کے باغ) جو چھتریوں پر چڑھاتے تھے سب کو ہم نے تباہ کردیا

And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building.

وَجَٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱجْعَل لَّنَآ إِلَٰهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ ﴿١٣٨﴾

Wajawazna bibanee israeela albahra faataw AAala qawmin yaAAkufoona AAala asnamin lahum qaloo ya moosa ijAAal lana ilahan kama lahum alihatun qala innakum qawmun tajhaloona

اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا کے پار اتارا تو وہ ایسے لوگوں کے پاس جا پہنچے جو اپنے بتوں (کی عبادت) کے لیے بیٹھے رہتے تھے۔ (بنی اسرائیل) کہنے لگے کہ موسیٰ جیسے ان لوگوں کے معبود ہیں۔ ہمارے لیے بھی ایک معبود بنا دو۔ موسیٰ نے کہا کہ تم بڑے ہی جاہل لوگ ہو

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea; then they came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs. They said, "O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods." He said, "Indeed, you are a people behaving ignorantly.

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَّا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٣٩﴾

Inna haolai mutabbarun ma hum feehi wabatilun ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

یہ لوگ جس (شغل) میں (پھنسے ہوئے) ہیں وہ برباد ہونے والا ہے اور جو کام یہ کرتے ہیں سب بیہودہ ہیں

Indeed, those [worshippers] - destroyed is that in which they are [engaged], and worthless is whatever they were doing."

قَالَ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَٰهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٤٠﴾

Qala aghayra Allahi abgheekum ilahan wahuwa faddalakum AAala alAAalameena

(اور یہ بھی) کہا کہ بھلا میں خدا کے سوا تمہارے لیے کوئی اور معبود تلاش کروں حالانکہ اس نے تم کو تمام اہل عالم پر فضیلت بخشی ہے

He said, "Is it other than Allah I should desire for you as a god while He has preferred you over the worlds?"

وَإِذْ أَنجَيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٤١﴾

Waith anjaynakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi yuqattiloona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAa<i>th</i>eemun

(اور ہمارے ان احسانوں کو یاد کرو) جب ہم نے تم کو فرعونیوں (کے ہاتھ) سے نجات بخشی وہ لوگ تم کو بڑا دکھ دیتے تھے۔ تمہارے بیٹوں کو قتل کر ڈالتے تھے اور بیٹیوں کو زندہ رہنے دیتے تھے۔ اور اس میں تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے سخت آزمائش تھی

And [recall, O Children of Israel], when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, [who were] afflicting you with the worst torment - killing your sons and keeping your women alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.

وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ ﴿١٤٢﴾

WawaAAadna moosa thalatheena laylatan waatmamnaha biAAashrin fatamma meeqatu rabbihi arbaAAeena laylatan waqala moosa liakheehi haroona okhlufnee fee qawmee waaslih wala tattabiAA sabeela almufsideena

اور ہم نے موسیٰ سے تیس رات کی میعاد مقرر کی۔ اور اس دس (راتیں) اور ملا کر اسے پورا (چلّہ) کردیا تو اس کے پروردگار کی چالیس رات کی میعاد پوری ہوگئی۔ اور موسیٰ نے اپنے بھائی ہارون سے کہا کہ میرے (کوہِٰ طور پر جانے کے) بعد تم میری قوم میں میرے جانشین ہو (ان کی) اصلاح کرتے رہنا ٹھیک اور شریروں کے رستے نہ چلنا

And We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights and perfected them by [the addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do right [by them], and do not follow the way of the corrupters."

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٤٣﴾

Walamma jaa moosa limeeqatina wakallamahu rabbuhu qala rabbi arinee an<i>th</i>ur ilayka qala lan taranee walakini on<i>th</i>ur ila aljabali faini istaqarra makanahu fasawfa taranee falamma tajalla rabbuhu liljabali jaAAalahu dakkan wakharra moosa saAAiqan falamma afaqa qala subhanaka tubtu ilayka waana awwalu almumineena

اور جب موسیٰ ہمارے مقرر کیے ہوئے وقت پر (کوہ طور) پر پہنچے اور ان کے پروردگار نے ان سے کلام کیا تو کہنے لگے کہ اے پروردگار مجھے (جلوہ) دکھا کہ میں تیرا دیدار (بھی) دیکھوں۔ پروردگار نے کہا کہ تم مجھے ہرگز نہ دیکھ سکو گے۔ ہاں پہاڑ کی طرف دیکھتے رہو اگر یہ اپنی جگہ قائم رہا تو تم مجھے دیکھ سکو گے۔ جب ان کا پروردگار پہاڑ پر نمودار ہوا تو (تجلی انوارِ ربانی) نے اس کو ریزہ ریزہ کردیا اور موسیٰ بےہوش ہو کر گر پڑے۔ جب ہوش میں آئے تو کہنے لگے کہ تیری ذات پاک ہے اور میں تیرے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں اور جو ایمان لانے والے ہیں ان میں سب سے اول ہوں

And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, "My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You." [Allah] said, "You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me." But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level, and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, "Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers."

قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّى ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِرِسَٰلَٰتِى وَبِكَلَٰمِى فَخُذْ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ ﴿١٤٤﴾

Qala ya moosa innee istafaytuka AAala alnnasi birisalatee wabikalamee fakhuth ma ataytuka wakun mina alshshakireena

(خدا نے) فرمایا موسیٰ میں نے تم کو اپنے پیغام اور اپنے کلام سے لوگوں سے ممتاز کیا ہے۔ تو جو میں نے تم کو عطا کیا ہے اسے پکڑ رکھو اور (میرا) شکر بجالاؤ

[Allah] said, "O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and My words [to you]. So take what I have given you and be among the grateful."

وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَلْوَاحِ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلًا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا۟ بِأَحْسَنِهَا سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ دَارَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ ﴿١٤٥﴾

Wakatabna lahu fee alalwahi min kulli shayin mawAAi<i>th</i>atan watafseelan likulli shayin fakhuthha biquwwatin wamur qawmaka yakhuthoo biahsaniha saoreekum dara alfasiqeena

اور ہم نے (تورات) کی تختیوں میں ان کے لیے ہر قسم کی نصیحت اور ہر چیز کی تفصیل لکھ دی پھر (ارشاد فرمایا کہ) اسے زور سے پکڑے رہو اور اپنی قوم سے بھی کہہ دو کہ ان باتوں کو جو اس میں (مندرج ہیں اور) بہت بہتر ہیں پکڑے رہیں۔ میں عنقریب تم کو نافرمان لوگوں کا گھر دکھاؤں گا

And We wrote for him on the tablets [something] of all things - instruction and explanation for all things, [saying], "Take them with determination and order your people to take the best of it. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient."

سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ ﴿١٤٦﴾

Saasrifu AAan ayatiya allatheena yatakabbaroona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wain yaraw kulla ayatin la yuminoo biha wain yaraw sabeela alrrushdi la yattakhithoohu sabeelan wain yaraw sabeela alghayyi yattakhithoohu sabeelan thalika biannahum kaththaboo biayatina wakanoo AAanha ghafileena

جو لوگ زمین میں ناحق غرور کرتے ہیں ان کو اپنی آیتوں سے پھیر دوں گا۔ اگر یہ سب نشانیاں بھی دیکھ لیں تب بھی ان پر ایمان نہ لائیں اور اگر راستی کا رستہ دیکھیں تو اسے (اپنا) رستہ نہ بنائیں۔ اور اگر گمراہی کی راہ دیکھیں تو اسے رستہ بنالیں۔ یہ اس لیے کہ انہوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا اور ان سے غفلت کرتے رہے

I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٤٧﴾

Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina waliqai alakhirati habitat aAAmaluhum hal yujzawna illa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں اور آخرت کے آنے کو جھٹلایا ان کے اعمال ضائع ہوجائیں گے۔ یہ جیسے عمل کرتے ہیں ویسا ہی ان کو بدلہ ملے گا

Those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter - their deeds have become worthless. Are they recompensed except for what they used to do?

وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا۟ ظَٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٤٨﴾

Waittakhatha qawmu moosa min baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun alam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehim sabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo <i>th</i>alimeena

اور قوم موسیٰ نے موسیٰ کے بعد اپنے زیور کا ایک بچھڑا بنا لیا (وہ) ایک جسم (تھا) جس میں سے بیل کی آواز نکلتی تھی۔ ان لوگوں نے یہ نہ دیکھا کہ وہ نہ ان سے بات کرسکتا ہے اور نہ ان کو راستہ دکھا سکتا ہے۔ اس کو انہوں نے (معبود) بنالیا اور (اپنے حق میں) ظلم کیا

And the people of Moses made, after [his departure], from their ornaments a calf - an image having a lowing sound. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to a way? They took it [for worship], and they were wrongdoers.

وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِىٓ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا۟ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ﴿١٤٩﴾

Walamma suqita fee aydeehim waraaw annahum qad dalloo qaloo lain lam yarhamna rabbuna wayaghfir lana lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena

اور جب وہ نادم ہوئے اور دیکھا کہ گمراہ ہوگئے ہیں تو کہنے لگے کہ اگر ہمارا پروردگار ہم پر رحم نہیں کرے گا اور ہم کو معاف نہیں فرمائے گا تو ہم برباد ہوجائیں گے

And when regret overcame them and they saw that they had gone astray, they said, "If our Lord does not have mercy upon us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers."

وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَلْقَى ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ ٱبْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى وَكَادُوا۟ يَقْتُلُونَنِى فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِىَ ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٥٠﴾

Walamma rajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala bisama khalaftumoonee min baAAdee aAAajiltum amra rabbikum waalqa alalwaha waakhatha birasi akheehi yajurruhu ilayhi qala ibna omma inna alqawma istadAAafoonee wakadoo yaqtuloonanee fala tushmit biya alaAAdaa wala tajAAalnee maAAa alqawmi al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور جب موسیٰ اپنی قوم میں نہایت غصے اور افسوس کی حالت میں واپس آئے۔ تو کہنے لگے کہ تم نے میرے بعد بہت ہی بداطواری کی۔ کیا تم نے اپنے پروردگار کا حکم (یعنی میرا اپنے پاس آنا) جلد چاہا (یہ کہا) اور (شدت غضب سے تورات کی) تختیاں ڈال دیں اور اپنے بھائی کے سر (کے بالوں) کو پکڑ کر اپنی طرف کھینچنے لگے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھائی جان لوگ تو مجھے کمزور سمجھتے تھے اور قریب تھا کہ قتل کردیں۔ تو ایسا کام نہ کیجیے کہ دشمن مجھ پر ہنسیں اور مجھے ظالم لوگوں میں مت ملایئے

And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said, "How wretched is that by which you have replaced me after [my departure]. Were you impatient over the matter of your Lord?" And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by [the hair of] his head, pulling him toward him. [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, indeed the people oppressed me and were about to kill me, so let not the enemies rejoice over me and do not place me among the wrongdoing people."

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِأَخِى وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِى رَحْمَتِكَ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ﴿١٥١﴾

Qala rabbi ighfir lee waliakhee waadkhilna fee rahmatika waanta arhamu alrrahimeena

تب انہوں نے دعا کی کہ اے میرے پروردگار مجھے اور میرے بھائی کو معاف فرما اور ہمیں اپنی رحمت میں داخل کر تو سب سے بڑھ کر رحم کرنے والا ہے

[Moses] said, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful."

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ ﴿١٥٢﴾

Inna allatheena ittakhathoo alAAijla sayanaluhum ghadabun min rabbihim wathillatun fee alhayati alddunya wakathalika najzee almuftareena

(خدا نے فرمایا کہ) جن لوگوں نے بچھڑے کو (معبود) بنا لیا تھا ان پر پروردگار کا غضب واقع ہوگا اور دنیا کی زندگی میں ذلت (نصیب ہوگی) اور ہم افتراء پردازوں کو ایسا ہی بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں

Indeed, those who took the calf [for worship] will obtain anger from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world, and thus do We recompense the inventors [of falsehood].

وَٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا وَءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٥٣﴾

Waallatheena AAamiloo alssayyiati thumma taboo min baAAdiha waamanoo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun

اور جنہوں نے برے کام کیے پھر اس کے بعد توبہ کرلی اور ایمان لے آئے تو کچھ شک نہیں کہ تمہارا پروردگار اس کے بعد (بخش دے گا کہ وہ) بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

But those who committed misdeeds and then repented after them and believed - indeed your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.

وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَن مُّوسَى ٱلْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَفِى نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ ﴿١٥٤﴾

Walamma sakata AAan moosa alghadabu akhatha alalwaha wafee nuskhatiha hudan warahmatun lillatheena hum lirabbihim yarhaboona

اور جب موسیٰ کا غصہ فرو ہوا تو (تورات) کی تختیاں اٹھالیں اور جو کچھ ان میں لکھا تھا وہ ان لوگوں کے لیے جو اپنے پروردگار سے ڈرتے ہیں۔ ہدایت اور رحمت تھی

And when the anger subsided in Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord.

وَٱخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُۥ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيقَٰتِنَا فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّٰىَ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِى مَن تَشَآءُ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٥٥﴾

Waikhtara moosa qawmahu sabAAeena rajulan limeeqatina falamma akhathathumu alrrajfatu qala rabbi law shita ahlaktahum min qablu waiyyaya atuhlikuna bima faAAala alssufahao minna in hiya illa fitnatuka tudillu biha man tashao watahdee man tashao anta waliyyuna faighfir lana wairhamna waanta khayru alghafireena

اور موسیٰ نے اس میعاد پر جو ہم نے مقرر کی تھی اپنی قوم کے ستر آدمی منتخب (کرکے کوہ طور پر حاضر) ٹل کیے۔ جب ان کو زلزلے نے پکڑا تو موسیٰ نے کہا کہ اے پروردگار تو چاہتا تو ان کو اور مجھ کو پہلے ہی سے ہلاک کر دیتا۔ کیا تو اس فعل کی سزا میں جو ہم میں سے بےعقل لوگوں نے کیا ہے ہمیں ہلاک کردے گا۔ یہ تو تیری آزمائش ہے۔ اس سے تو جس کو چاہے گمراہ کرے اور جس کو چاہے ہدایت بخشے۔ تو ہی ہمارا کارساز ہے تو ہمیں (ہمارے گناہ) بخش دے اور ہم پر رحم فرما اور تو سب سے بہتر بخشنے والا ہے

And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. And when the earthquake seized them, he said, "My Lord, if You had willed, You could have destroyed them before and me [as well]. Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is not but Your trial by which You send astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers.

وَٱكْتُبْ لَنَا فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَآ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَذَابِىٓ أُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَنْ أَشَآءُ وَرَحْمَتِى وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٥٦﴾

Waoktub lana fee hathihi alddunya hasanatan wafee alakhirati inna hudna ilayka qala AAathabee oseebu bihi man ashao warahmatee wasiAAat kulla shayin fasaaktubuha lillatheena yattaqoona wayutoona alzzakata waallatheena hum biayatina yuminoona

اور ہمارے لیے اس دنیا میں بھی بھلائی لکھ دے اور آخرت میں بھی۔ ہم تیری طرف رجوع ہوچکے۔ فرمایا کہ جو میرا عذاب ہے اسے تو جس پر چاہتا ہوں نازل کرتا ہوں اور جو میری رحمت ہے وہ ہر چیز کو شامل ہے۔ میں اس کو ان لوگوں کے لیے لکھ دوں گا جو پرہیزگاری کرتے اور زکوٰة دیتے اور ہماری آیتوں پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں

And decree for us in this world [that which is] good and [also] in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned back to You." [Allah] said, "My punishment - I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakah and those who believe in Our verses -

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ ٱلْأُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُونَهُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَهُمْ فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلنُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ﴿١٥٧﴾

Allatheena yattabiAAoona alrrasoola alnnabiyya alommiyya allathee yajidoonahu maktooban AAindahum fee alttawrati waalinjeeli yamuruhum bialmaAAroofi wayanhahum AAani almunkari wayuhillu lahumu alttayyibati wayuharrimu AAalayhimu alkhabaitha wayadaAAu AAanhum israhum waalaghlala allatee kanat AAalayhim faallatheena amanoo bihi waAAazzaroohu wanasaroohu waittabaAAoo alnnoora allathee onzila maAAahu olaika humu almuflihoona

وہ جو (محمدﷺ) رسول (الله) کی جو نبی اُمی ہیں پیروی کرتے ہیں جن (کے اوصاف) کو وہ اپنے ہاں تورات اور انجیل میں لکھا ہوا پاتے ہیں۔ وہ انہیں نیک کام کا حکم دیتے ہیں اور برے کام سے روکتے ہیں۔ اور پاک چیزوں کو ان کے لیے حلال کرتے ہیں اور ناپاک چیزوں کو ان پر حرام ٹہراتے ہیں اور ان پر سے بوجھ اور طوق جو ان (کے سر) پر (اور گلے میں) تھے اتارتے ہیں۔ تو جو لوگ ان پر ایمان لائے اور ان کی رفاقت کی اور انہیں مدد دی۔ اور جو نور ان کے ساتھ نازل ہوا ہے اس کی پیروی کی۔ وہی مراد پانے والے ہیں

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ﴿١٥٨﴾

Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu innee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum jameeAAan allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi la ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu faaminoo biAllahi warasoolihi alnnabiyyi alommiyyi allathee yuminu biAllahi wakalimatihi waittabiAAoohu laAAallakum tahtadoona

(اے محمدﷺ) کہہ دو کہ لوگو میں تم سب کی طرف خدا کا بھیجا ہوا (یعنی اس کا رسول) ہوں۔ (وہ) جو آسمانوں اور زمین کا بادشاہ ہے۔ اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہی زندگانی بخشتا ہے اور وہی موت دیتا ہے۔ تو خدا پر اور اس کے رسول پیغمبر اُمی پر جو خدا پر اور اس کے تمام کلام پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں ایمان لاؤ اور ان کی پیروی کرو تاکہ ہدایت پاؤ

Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.

وَمِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ ﴿١٥٩﴾

Wamin qawmi moosa ommatun yahdoona bialhaqqi wabihi yaAAdiloona

اور قوم موسیٰ میں کچھ لوگ ایسے بھی ہیں جو حق کا راستہ بتاتے اور اسی کے ساتھ انصاف کرتے ہیں

And among the people of Moses is a community which guides by truth and by it establishes justice.

وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمُ ٱثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ قَوْمُهُۥٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْغَمَٰمَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿١٦٠﴾

WaqattaAAnahumu ithnatay AAashrata asbatan omaman waawhayna ila moosa ithi istasqahu qawmuhu ani idrib biAAasaka alhajara fainbajasat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum wa<i>th</i>allalna AAalayhimu alghamama waanzalna AAalayhimu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama <i>th</i>alamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum ya<i>th</i>limoona

اور ہم نے ان کو (یعنی بنی اسرائیل کو) الگ الگ کرکے بارہ قبیلے (اور) بڑی بڑی جماعتیں بنا دیا۔ اور جب موسیٰ سے ان کی قوم نے پانی طلب کیا تو ہم نے ان کی طرف وحی بھیجی کہ اپنی لاٹھی پتھر پر مار دو۔ تو اس میں سے بارہ چشمے پھوٹ نکلے۔ اور سب لوگوں نے اپنا اپنا گھاٹ معلوم کرلیا۔ اور ہم نے ان (کے سروں) پر بادل کو سائبان بنائے رکھا اور ان پر من وسلویٰ اتارتے رہے۔ اور (ان سے کہا کہ) جو پاکیزہ چیزیں ہم تمہیں دیتے ہیں انہیں کھاؤ۔ اور ان لوگوں نے ہمارا کچھ نقصان نہیں کیا بلکہ (جو) نقصان کیا اپنا ہی کیا

And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations. And We inspired to Moses when his people implored him for water, "Strike with your staff the stone," and there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Every people knew its watering place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves.

وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْكُنُوا۟ هَٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ حِطَّةٌ وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِكُمْ سَنَزِيدُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿١٦١﴾

Waith qeela lahumu oskunoo hathihi alqaryata wakuloo minha haythu shitum waqooloo hittatun waodkhuloo albaba sujjadan naghfir lakum khateeatikum sanazeedu almuhsineena

اور (یاد کرو) جب ان سے کہا گیا کہ اس شہر میں سکونت اختیار کرلو اور اس میں جہاں سے جی چاہے کھانا (پینا) اور (ہاں شہر میں جانا تو) حِطّتہٌ کہنا اور دروازے میں داخل ہونا تو سجدہ کرنا۔ ہم تمہارے گناہ معاف کردیں گے۔ اور نیکی کرنے والوں کو اور زیادہ دیں گے

And [mention, O Muhammad], when it was said to them, "Dwell in this city and eat from it wherever you will and say, 'Relieve us of our burdens,' and enter the gate bowing humbly; We will [then] forgive you your sins. We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward]."

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿١٦٢﴾

Fabaddala allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo minhum qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faarsalna AAalayhim rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo ya<i>th</i>limoona

مگر جو ان میں ظالم تھے انہوں نے اس لفظ کو جس کا ان کو حکم دیا گیا تھا بدل کر اس کی جگہ اور لفظ کہنا شروع کیا تو ہم نے ان پر آسمان سے عذاب بھیجا اس لیے کہ ظلم کرتے تھے

But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing.

وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ ﴿١٦٣﴾

Waisalhum AAani alqaryati allatee kanat hadirata albahri ith yaAAdoona fee alssabti ith tateehim heetanuhum yawma sabtihim shurraAAan wayawma la yasbitoona la tateehim kathalika nabloohum bima kanoo yafsuqoona

اور ان سے اس گاؤں کا حال تو پوچھو جب لب دریا واقع تھا۔ جب یہ لوگ ہفتے کے دن کے بارے میں حد سے تجاوز کرنے لگے (یعنی) اس وقت کہ ان کے ہفتے کے دن مچھلیاں ان کے سامنے پانی کے اوپر آتیں اور جب ہفتے کا دن نہ ہوتا تو نہ آتیں۔ اسی طرح ہم ان لوگوں کو ان کی نافرمانیوں کے سبب آزمائش میں ڈالنے لگے

And ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.

وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ٱللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا قَالُوا۟ مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٦٤﴾

Waith qalat ommatun minhum lima taAAi<i>th</i>oona qawman Allahu muhlikuhum aw muAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan qaloo maAAthiratan ila rabbikum walaAAallahum yattaqoona

اور جب ان میں سے ایک جماعت نے کہا کہ تم ایسے لوگوں کو کیوں نصیحت کرتے ہو جن کو الله ہلاک کرنے والا یا سخت عذاب دینے والا ہے تو انہوں نے کہا اس لیے کہ تمہارے پروردگار کے سامنے معذرت کرسکیں اور عجب نہیں کہ وہ پرہیزگاری اختیار کریں

And when a community among them said, "Why do you advise [or warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a severe punishment?" they [the advisors] said, "To be absolved before your Lord and perhaps they may fear Him."

فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلسُّوٓءِ وَأَخَذْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ بِعَذَابٍۭ بَـِٔيسٍۭ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ ﴿١٦٥﴾

Falamma nasoo ma thukkiroo bihi anjayna allatheena yanhawna AAani alssooi waakhathna allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo biAAathabin baeesin bima kanoo yafsuqoona

جب انہوں نے ان باتوں کو فراموش کردیا جن کی ان کو نصیحت کی گئی تھی تو جو لوگ برائی سے منع کرتے تھے ان کو ہم نے نجات دی اور جو ظلم کرتے تھے ان کو برے عذاب میں پکڑ لیا کہ نافرمانی کئے جاتے تھے

And when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying.

فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا۟ عَن مَّا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا۟ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ ﴿١٦٦﴾

Falamma AAataw AAan ma nuhoo AAanhu qulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasieena

غرض جن اعمال (بد) سے ان کو منع کیا گیا تھا جب وہ ان (پراصرار اور ہمارے حکم سے) گردن کشی کرنے لگے تو ہم نے ان کو حکم دیا کہ ذلیل بندر ہوجاؤ

So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَن يَسُومُهُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٦٧﴾

Waith taaththana rabbuka layabAAathanna AAalayhim ila yawmi alqiyamati man yasoomuhum sooa alAAathabi inna rabbaka lasareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun

(اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو) جب تمہارے پروردگار نے (یہود کو) آگاہ کردیا تھا کہ وہ ان پر قیامت تک ایسے شخص کو مسلط رکھے گا جو انہیں بری بری تکلیفیں دیتا رہے۔ بےشک تمہارا پروردگار جلد عذاب کرنے والا ہے اور وہ بخشنے والا مہربان بھی ہے

And [mention] when your Lord declared that He would surely [continue to] send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with the worst torment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.

وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَبَلَوْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿١٦٨﴾

WaqattaAAnahum fee alardi omaman minhumu alssalihoona waminhum doona thalika wabalawnahum bialhasanati waalssayyiati laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

اور ہم نے ان کو جماعت جماعت کرکے ملک میں منتشر کر دیا۔ بعض ان میں سے نیکوکار ہیں اور بعض اور طرح کے (یعنی بدکار) اور ہم آسائشوں، تکلیفوں (دونوں) سے ان کی آزمائش کرتے رہے تاکہ (ہماری طرف) رجوع کریں

And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience].

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ يَأْخُذُوهُ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِم مِّيثَٰقُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَن لَّا يَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ وَٱلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١٦٩﴾

Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun warithoo alkitaba yakhuthoona AAarada hatha aladna wayaqooloona sayughfaru lana wain yatihim AAaradun mithluhu yakhuthoohu alam yukhath AAalayhim meethaqu alkitabi an la yaqooloo AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa wadarasoo ma feehi waalddaru alakhiratu khayrun lillatheena yattaqoona afala taAAqiloona

پھر ان کے بعد ناخلف ان کے قائم مقام ہوئے جو کتاب کے وارث بنے۔ یہ (بےتامل) اس دنیائے دنی کا مال ومتاع لے لیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہم بخش دیئے جائیں گے۔ اور (لوگ ایسوں پر طعن کرتے ہیں) اگر ان کے سامنے بھی ویسا ہی مال آجاتا ہے تو وہ بھی اسے لے لیتے ہیں۔ کیا ان سے کتاب کی نسبت عہد نہیں لیا گیا کہ خدا پر سچ کے سوا اور کچھ نہیں کہیں گے۔ اور جو کچھ اس (کتاب) میں ہے اس کو انہوں نے پڑھ بھی لیا ہے۔ اور آخرت کا گھر پرہیزگاروں کے لیے بہتر ہے کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں

And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us." And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah, so will you not use reason?

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ ﴿١٧٠﴾

Waallatheena yumassikoona bialkitabi waaqamoo alssalata inna la nudeeAAu ajra almusliheena

اور جو لوگ کتاب کو مضبوط پکڑے ہوئے ہیں اور نماز کا التزام رکھتے ہیں (ان کو ہم اجر دیں گے کہ) ہم نیکوکاروں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتے

But those who hold fast to the Book and establish prayer - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of the reformers.

وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا ٱلْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُۥ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٧١﴾

Waith nataqna aljabala fawqahum kaannahu <i>th</i>ullatun wa<i>th</i>annoo annahu waqiAAun bihim khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona

اور جب ہم نے ان (کے سروں) پر پہاڑ اٹھا کھڑا کیا گویا وہ سائبان تھا اور انہوں نے خیال کیا کہ وہ ان پر گرتا ہے تو (ہم نے کہا کہ) جو ہم نے تمہیں دیا ہے اسے زور سے پکڑے رہو۔ اور جو اس میں لکھا ہے اس پر عمل کرو تاکہ بچ جاؤ

And [mention] when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a dark cloud and they were certain that it would fall upon them, [and Allah said], "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that you might fear Allah."

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ شَهِدْنَآ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ ﴿١٧٢﴾

Waith akhatha rabbuka min banee adama min <i>th</i>uhoorihim thurriyyatahum waashhadahum AAala anfusihim alastu birabbikum qaloo bala shahidna an taqooloo yawma alqiyamati inna kunna AAan hatha ghafileena

اور جب تمہارے پروردگار نے بنی آدم سے یعنی ان کی پیٹھوں سے ان کی اولاد نکالی تو ان سے خود ان کے مقابلے میں اقرار کرا لیا (یعنی ان سے پوچھا کہ) کیا تمہارا پروردگار نہیں ہوں۔ وہ کہنے لگے کیوں نہیں ہم گواہ ہیں (کہ تو ہمارا پروردگار ہے) ۔ یہ اقرار اس لیے کرایا تھا کہ قیامت کے دن (کہیں یوں نہ) کہنے لگو کہ ہم کو تو اس کی خبر ہی نہ تھی

And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."

أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ ﴿١٧٣﴾

Aw taqooloo innama ashraka abaona min qablu wakunna thurriyyatan min baAAdihim afatuhlikuna bima faAAala almubtiloona

یا یہ (نہ) کہو کہ شرک تو پہلے ہمارے بڑوں نے کیا تھا۔ اور ہم تو ان کی اولاد تھے (جو) ان کے بعد (پیدا ہوئے) ۔ تو کیا جو کام اہل باطل کرتے رہے اس کے بدلے تو ہمیں ہلاک کرتا ہے

Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?"

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿١٧٤﴾

Wakathalika nufassilu alayati walaAAallahum yarjiAAoona

اور اسی طرح ہم (اپنی) آیتیں کھول کھول کر بیان کرتے ہیں تاکہ یہ رجوع کریں

And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return.

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ ﴿١٧٥﴾

Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa allathee ataynahu ayatina fainsalakha minha faatbaAAahu alshshaytanu fakana mina alghaweena

اور ان کو اس شخص کا حال پڑھ کر سنا دو جس کو ہم نے اپنی آیتیں عطا فرمائیں (اور ہفت پارچہٴ علم شرائع سے مزین کیا) تو اس نے ان کو اتار دیا پھر شیطان اس کے پیچھے لگا تو وہ گمراہوں میں ہوگیا

And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators.

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ﴿١٧٦﴾

Walaw shina larafaAAnahu biha walakinnahu akhlada ila alardi waittabaAAa hawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmil AAalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath thalika mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina faoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahum yatafakkaroona

اور اگر ہم چاہتے تو ان آیتوں سے اس (کے درجے) کو بلند کر دیتے مگر وہ تو پستی کی طرف مائل ہوگیا اور اپنی خواہش کے پیچھے چل پڑا۔ تو اس کی مثال کتے کی سی ہوگئی کہ اگر سختی کرو تو زبان نکالے رہے اور یونہی چھوڑ دو تو بھی زبان نکالے رہے۔ یہی مثال ان لوگوں کی ہے جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا تو ان سے یہ قصہ بیان کردو۔ تاکہ وہ فکر کریں

And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought.

سَآءَ مَثَلًا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿١٧٧﴾

Saa mathalan alqawmu allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waanfusahum kanoo ya<i>th</i>limoona

جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کی تکذیب کی ان کی مثال بری ہے اور انہوں نے نقصان (کیا تو) اپنا ہی کیا

How evil an example [is that of] the people who denied Our signs and used to wrong themselves.

مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِى وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ ﴿١٧٨﴾

Man yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadee waman yudlil faolaika humu alkhasiroona

جس کو خدا ہدایت دے وہی راہ یاب ہے اور جس کو گمراہ کرے تو ایسے ہی لوگ نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں

Whoever Allah guides - he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray - it is those who are the losers.

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ ﴿١٧٩﴾

Walaqad tharana lijahannama katheeran mina aljinni waalinsi lahum quloobun la yafqahoona biha walahum aAAyunun la yubsiroona biha walahum athanun la yasmaAAoona biha olaika kaalanAAami bal hum adallu olaika humu alghafiloona

اور ہم نے بہت سے جن اور انسان دوزخ کے لیے پیدا کیے ہیں۔ ان کے دل ہیں لیکن ان سے سمجھتے نہیں اور ان کی آنکھیں ہیں مگر ان سے دیکھتے نہیں اور ان کے کان ہیں پر ان سے سنتے نہیں۔ یہ لوگ بالکل چارپایوں کی طرح ہیں بلکہ ان سے بھی بھٹکے ہوئے۔ یہی وہ ہیں جو غفلت میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں

And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٨٠﴾

Walillahi alasmao alhusna faodAAoohu biha watharoo allatheena yulhidoona fee asmaihi sayujzawna ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

اور خدا کے سب نام اچھے ہی اچھے ہیں۔ تو اس کو اس کے ناموں سے پکارا کرو اور جو لوگ اس کے ناموں میں کجی اختیار کرتے ہیں ان کو چھوڑ دو۔ وہ جو کچھ کر رہے ہیں عنقریب اس کی سزا پائیں گے

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.

وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ ﴿١٨١﴾

Wamimman khalaqna ommatun yahdoona bialhaqqi wabihi yaAAdiloona

اور ہماری مخلوقات میں سے ایک وہ لوگ ہیں جو حق کا رستہ بتاتے ہیں اور اسی کے ساتھ انصاف کرتے ہیں

And among those We created is a community which guides by truth and thereby establishes justice.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٨٢﴾

Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona

اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا ان کو بتدریج اس طریق سے پکڑیں گے کہ ان کو معلوم ہی نہ ہوگا

But those who deny Our signs - We will progressively lead them [to destruction] from where they do not know.

وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ ﴿١٨٣﴾

Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun

اور میں ان کو مہلت دیئے جاتا ہوں میری تدبیر (بڑی) مضبوط ہے

And I will give them time. Indeed, my plan is firm.

أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّن جِنَّةٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿١٨٤﴾

Awalam yatafakkaroo ma bisahibihim min jinnatin in huwa illa natheerun mubeenun

کیا انہوں نے غور نہیں کیا کہ ان کے رفیق محمد (ﷺ) کو (کسی طرح کا بھی) جنون نہیں ہے۔ وہ تو ظاہر ظہور ڈر سنانے والے ہیں

Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [Muhammad] no madness. He is not but a clear warner.

أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٨٥﴾

Awalam yan<i>th</i>uroo fee malakooti alssamawati waalardi wama khalaqa Allahu min shayin waan AAasa an yakoona qadi iqtaraba ajaluhum fabiayyi hadeethin baAAdahu yuminoona

کیا انہوں نے آسمان اور زمین کی بادشاہت میں جو چیزیں خدا نے پیدا کی ہیں ان پر نظر نہیں کی اور اس بات پر (خیال نہیں کیا) کہ عجب نہیں ان (کی موت) کا وقت نزدیک پہنچ گیا ہو۔ تو اس کے بعد وہ اور کس بات پر ایمان لائیں گے

Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement hereafter will they believe?

مَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِىَ لَهُۥ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ ﴿١٨٦﴾

Man yudlili Allahu fala hadiya lahu wayatharuhum fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona

جس شخص کو خدا گمراہ کرے اس کو کوئی ہدایت دینے والا نہیں اور وہ ان (گمراہوں) کو چھوڑے رکھتا ہے کہ اپنی سرکشی میں پڑے بہکتے رہیں

Whoever Allah sends astray - there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly.

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّى لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ ثَقُلَتْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِىٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٨٧﴾

Yasaloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda rabbee la yujalleeha liwaqtiha illa huwa thaqulat fee alssamawati waalardi la tateekum illa baghtatan yasaloonaka kaannaka hafiyyun AAanha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda Allahi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

(یہ لوگ) تم سے قیامت کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہیں کہ اس کے واقع ہونے کا وقت کب ہے۔ کہہ دو کہ اس کا علم تو میرے پروردگار ہی کو ہے۔ وہی اسے اس کے وقت پر ظاہر کردےگا۔ وہ آسمان وزمین میں ایک بھاری بات ہوگی اور ناگہاں تم پر آجائے گی۔ یہ تم سے اس طرح دریافت کرتے ہیں کہ گویا تم اس سے بخوبی واقف ہو۔ کہو کہ اس کا علم تو خدا ہی کو ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ یہ نہیں جانتے

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know."

قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِى نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ ٱلسُّوٓءُ إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٨٨﴾

Qul la amliku linafsee nafAAan wala darran illa ma shaa Allahu walaw kuntu aAAlamu alghayba laistakthartu mina alkhayri wama massaniya alssooo in ana illa natheerun wabasheerun liqawmin yuminoona

کہہ دو کہ میں اپنے فائدے اور نقصان کا کچھ بھی اختیار نہیں رکھتا مگر جو الله چاہے اور اگر میں غیب کی باتیں جانتا ہوتا تو بہت سے فائدے جمع کرلیتا اور مجھ کو کوئی تکلیف نہ پہنچتی۔ میں تو مومنوں کو ڈر اور خوشخبری سنانے والا ہوں

Say, "I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe."
